Counting Sheep - A Pokemon Trainer quest

You need to put an "X" between the brackets if you want your votes to be picked up by the tally.

[X][Joan pic vote] number 1
[X][Joan pic vote] number 3
X is for a single vote.

X
-X is for multiple lines to be tracked together as a single vote

X
X is two separate votes simultaneously.

1
2
3 this is a single vote for 1, then when tallied if 1 had the least votes its kicked out and my vote shifts to 2, and so on.

i thought the numbered vote is how you vote for numbered preference?
Huh, I haven't heard of that before. Though, it looks like the vote counter wasn't picking up either of your pic votes before you added the X's.

One of your pic votes has an X while the other has a 1. The vote tally is only counting the vote with an X.

The X was initially a mistake but your comment about it only tracking one vote got me curious. I hunted down an updated guide for the SV vote tally and it turns out the format for Instant Runoff to work is "[x] [1] Vote". If no number is listed the system assumes top down priority. I now am off to check SB vote tally because I had thought the sites used the same system.

[X] [Joan pic vote] number 5
[X] [Joan pic vote] number 6

Edit:
for people curious, [1] Vote does work on SB. It looks like it was added after SB was bought by those new people.

[X] Plan Show off Marigold
-[X] Do our normal set up - Electric terrain, Charge, etc. Try and keep moving while doing so
-[X] Expect Ronnie to close in the distance fast - focus on few Thundershocks when the Pawniard is closer with more power and accuracy
-[X] Try and keep Marigold in her mobile dodging style rather than turtling up - claws + wool is a bad combination. Exploit Static if it happens, but don't try and force it. Expect Pawniard to keep close and the pressure up.
-[X] Possibly try and Thundershock the Pawniard at the moment it uses Steel Claw, for a moment of disruption? Or Electric Terrain?

[X] Plan Counter, No Normal
-[X] Do our normal set up first - Electric terrain, Charge, etc.
-[X] Have Marigold exclusively use Thundershock to deal damage the opponent
-[X] Use her magnetic sense to sense Pawniard and counter opportunities, just like in her trainings.

This plan is too passive for me. The setting up isn't bad but after that Marigold just keep attacking and dodging, hoping that it's enought, giving the iniative to Ronnie. Her Pawniard has been trained for two month, letting him apply his training without trying to disrupt it will end up with us getting boddied. Fear of letting Marigold take hits directly should not keep us from applying our own strategy.

Fair enough - It's passive because I'm working on the assumption we'll never have the initiative to begin with, therefore the question is how we react to losing it. This is the tutorial, and learning how to do a battle plan is something we'll get better at over time, I'm expecting my plan to have some mistakes in it like our training plans did.

marigold hasn't used Take Down yet. Also, Tackle and Takedown are bad moves to use against a Steel type. Marigold is likely to only hurt herself if she tries to hit Pawniard like that.

Take Down deals damage to the user proportional to the damage dealt to the opponent. Sure, it's a less worthwhile tradeoff against a resist and hitting something solid inherently is more painful than a soft target but the self-damaging part of the Move doesn't hurt significantly more from using it against a Steel-type than any other pokemon.

Tackle is used to keep control of the battle by pushing Pawniard away, not damage him.
Take Down is a move strong enought to damage Pawniard even with his resistance to normal type. Plus at a level this low I imagine Marigold weight and static electricity will deal additional damage. Pokemon typing isn't the only variable of a battle.

We haven't trained Marigold in Take Down but she still used it during the wild battles.

Marigold didn't use Take Down in her wild battles, considering in the previous training vote you guys were pretty adamant about not wanting her to use it yet (which was only two days prior to last update), didn't tell me to start using it last time around and her not particularly having needed to.

Pawniard is a Steel type. Marigold should be able to use her Magnetic Sense to better target her Thundershocks.

Do you guys mean anything in particular with that magnetic sense I'm missing ? Mareep use that to sense life around them, and Marigold's is precociously precise - but right now that line in plan Counter, No Normal is basically the equivalent of 'use her eyes to see' unless I'm missing something. The training you've been doing with her has been about making her rely on that sense a bit more, but it's not an active thing. Her Trait is Heightened Senses (Magnetic), nothing related to magnetic manipulation, so you can't really tell her 'he's a Steel-type, see him more'.

I appreciate that this is true, but I did ask for approval voting, not ranked voting.

The intent was to have Marigold still sense Pawniard if/when she needs to turtle up in her wool. That was what her "like her training" was meant to bring across. I'll clarify it a bit now, since I wrote that plan when I was merely slightly less crunched for time.

I mean, that's still basically what I was saying - you don't actually need that line in there, that magnetic sense is literally how she sees while turtling up in the first place. Your training was about teaching her to recognise opportunities to counter when she spotted them through said sense, but now that she knows she'll try and do that anyway. Not the end of the world either way if that line's in the plan anyway, I just wanted to make sure I was clear on what you meant.

If only to see if an experienced battler sees what we've been trying to do and notices some serious flaws/misunderstandings we've overlooked.

I wanted it to be in a plan to make sure that she does that. If she was going to do that anyway then great!
