Continuing down the list of questions:
There isn't much to say here - people are always going to look at decisions handed down to them with a certain amount of scepticism. The best we can do is strive as an institution to be polite, professional, and compassionate while fulfilling our roles, and to continue to engage with the user base as regular posters the rest of the time - the Council's entire purpose, in the end, is to serve as a bridge between the users and the staff.
As for trying to reduce "dunking", well, best to lead by example and simply be kinder during our time on SV as a whole.
A huge number of quests have their own Discord servers, and I'm active on a number of them. I have no real issues with this on the whole, although to some degree I feel that this can lead to fractures in the quest playerbase between the more involved readers (more likely to join a dedicated discord) and more casual voters.
It isn't clear to me that there's anything that can be done about that, though - the rapid chat and voice communications on Discord simply make for a much more casual atmosphere than can be replicated on SV.
It would be nice for quest runners to be encouraged to include a link to any relevant Discords on the first page of the quest, since I've seen a lot of cases where users want to join a Discord but can't find the link, but that's more of a cultural thing than an actual rules issue - SV shouldn't (and frankly can't) mandate how people behave when it comes to off-site communications.
As Councillors, our role is to serve as liaisons between the community and the staff. With that in mind, if the people we're meant to represent disagree with our decisions, we're probably doing something wrong.
I have a responsibility to the council to be honest regarding what I feel is best for the parts of the community I'm familiar with. I also have a responsibility to that community, to follow through with the faith they placed in me. I don't see those two aspects as being at odds with each other.
"Slapping people for their bullshit" is a fairly aggressive way of putting it, but I won't tolerate obvious bad faith argumentation placed before the council, and I will speak up if I think the staff are making a poor or unfair decision.
What you describe as "Image" is better reframed as Trust. In the end, the Council is primarily an advisory body. Most of what we can do to improve things with users is to open communications with them, and most of what we can do to affect staff decisions is to provide persuasive arguments. Having a poor image won't help with either of those tasks.
6. The "discussion" on dunking can easily be construed as big shot holy types punching down at others from their ivory towers. What will candidates do to properly convey their intent to others, since administrative decisions made in good faith are interpreted as otherwise as it is.

7. Discord is a good way to get work done outside of SV and is a net positive to efficiency. What's your policy on taking things on the site out to places that are not official SV servers but merely associated or affiliated, whatever the word is.

8. How important do you think popularity is wrt working in your office. Would you be able to be honest at risk of losing the "faith" of some people.

9. Are you going to slap people for their bullshit instead of defaulting to fake diplomacy in order to look good? Meaning how important is "image" to you. Do you think it affects your function? Do you think it should?
