Memories of a bank
You looked at Gringotts, the building was white and towering. It easily was the highest building in all of Diagon Alley, with a massive set of bronze doors on its front. Standing at either side of the doors were guarded by short beings in full armor. From what you could tell with the armor they had rather long fingers and feet, given the size of there gauntlets and boots. You walked with Professor Snape past the short beings, that you believe to be goblins since they run the bank. Walking inside you saw that there was a second set of doors. this time in silver. Quickly glancing at it, you read the inscription.

Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.

You paused as you read it, for as you read it another voice spoke in your mind. It was still yours, for you were the one thinking it, but it didn't sound like you. Like a distant memory, one of someone else speaking the words.

"Ms. Granger."

You looked to see that it was Professor Snape that said your name. He was looking at you with a strange look, like he was trying to figure something out. Deciding to ignore it, you catch up with him. When you actually got to the doors a pair of goblins bowed you through the doors and you found yourself in a vast marble hall. About a hundred more goblins were sitting on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing coins on scales, examining precious stones through eyeglasses. There were too many doors to count leading off the hall, and yet more goblins were showing people in and out of these. You started to follow the Professor as he starts to walk to one of the bank tellers, before...

"Ah, Severus! I was not expecting to see you here today."

You turned to look at the man that spoke.

"Quirinus, I was just helping young Ms. Granger here get ready for her first year at Hogwarts."

The man looks at you wait some interest, raising an eyebrow.

"Yet the school year has already started, I take it that you will be starting next year."

You nod your head, at which he started to smile.

"That's great! I'm hoping to be the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher next year. I'm actually leaving the country in hopes to learn some things that I believe would be useful for teaching."

"Ah, yes. I do recall. You're going to b e heading out to Albania, right?" Professor Snape said.

"Actually there's a last minute change in the plans. I'm going to be going to Rome, hopefully I can get some training from Vatican Executors who might be willing to teach some of their non-classified skills. I would think some of what they know skills could be taught to those outside of the order."

You watched as your guide gained a thoughtful expression. Eventually he looked at Quirinus and spoke again. "How about we speak about this later? I should finish helping Ms. Granger, but once thats finished I would like to talk to you about your trip."

They both spoke for a minute longer, deciding on a place to meet up at. Once that was done you and the Professor walked up to one of the desks that the goblins sat at. The two began to talk about getting you access to one of Hogwarts as you looked around. You could see a few kids with there parents, something that brought a coppery taste to your mouth as your anger rose. You could just imagine what interest your parents would have had if they actually came, but once again they abandoned you.

Gritting your teeth, you started to take deep breaths, trying to calm your anger. It slowly subsided, most people seemed to have been completely unaware of anything having happened. Though you did notice that the goblins that were slightly stiffer then they were before, looking like they were ready for a fight, thought they to didn't seem to know where the aura thing you have came from. Which was good, you would rather not be kicked out of the only bank that you know of.

"Ms. Granger, this is your vault key. Keep it safe, and do not lose it."
As you took the Key from the Professors hand, you couldn't help but notice that he had that strange look on his face again. At that point another goblin walked up and told you to follow him, where he lead you through one of the doors of to the side. Going through you walked down a narrow stone passageway lit with flaming torches, which sloped steeply downwards with little railway tracks on the floor. The goblin whistled, before a small cart came down the tracks and stopped in front of you. Once you were all on the cart it took off again, going through a labyrinth of passages.

You moved so fast that it was impossible to really see anything around you, though eventually you pulled to a stop. Handing your key over to the goblin, he unlocked your vault. Within was a small pile of gold, a lager pile of silver, and an even larger pile of bronze. As you put some of your money into a bag, the strange currency system was explained to you.

"Yur a muggie," The goblin said after a moment, "So best to start with the switch - The golden ones 'bout the size of a 50 pence is a Galleon, and they be worth bout a good twenty five pounds, the shinny silver ones bit smaller are the Sickles, and they be just over a pound and a half, and the borin bronzies that are the smallest at the Knuts. They be worth 5 pence... well, 4.98 pence, but they are generally treated as being 5 pence. What you've grabbed there be about... Oh, I'd say some 600 pounds."

With that done you took a cart ride back, and it was not to much longer before you were in the light of the sun again.

What will you do for the rest of the week?
[ ] Practice with waster for the week

[ ] Something else

[X] Practice social skills empathy, expression at nearby park (Hopefully not sending kids crying again)

We don't need every other kid at Hogwarts hexing (if that is still at thing) Hermoine for just being herself.

[X] Read at the public library

I...didn't realize how intertwined this quest was with some elements of the Nasuverse...though when you think about it, they do fit well into the lore of this world...
