Mmm. Well, seeing as how we burn permanent heroic willpower to get new abilities, I have to say that having a Stand manifestation is less necessary than I would have previously thought. Just getting a few new, mixable abilities sounds good to me.

Not unless it has some form of time based ability itself. Stands still obey the flow of time.
A Stand that was precognitive to some degree might be able to set up a defence ahead of time, but it wouldn't be capable of acting during a time stop.
Automatic mostly means that it has its own agenda. I don't think adding one more thing with which to negotiate is the way to go in this setting.
I really think the obvious drawback is worth taking. Shizuka has already managed to be ostentatious in her use of an invisibility power. How likely is it that she keeps anything about her Stand secret for any useful length of time?

To be fair, having an Automatic Stand also has the benefit of not making us blow up when our Stand does.
The Empress is supposed to be an automatic Stand and still causes its user to die when it does.

And there were some close combat Stands that were immune to transfering damage, Silver Chariot with its armor on for example. The tradeoff is that Polneraf couldn't see through Silver Chariot.
