Colonel Agustus Autumn CKII Quest.

[X] Continue with the Operation

we can't afford to maintain the powerful weapons our guys have so it's a use it or lose it situation. Plus we can't really afford losing more legitimacy unless we want internal issues. Better to lose to the BOS then give up the pretense of being the government.

This could be interesting. That said, @Calmlikeabomb please, work on your formatting and punctuation. It is difficult to read, especially dialogs.

Lyons Pride Roll
1d100 = [Base roll here] + [Sarah's Base Martial Bonus] + [??? Bonus] + [Morale Value] + [Defense Bonus] = [End Roll Here]

[Faction Name Here] wins
1d100 for casualty roll

(QM note) I had a whole original combat system written down then realized I was overcomplicating things for both myself and my amazing questers so several hours of work disposed of I made a decision I'm going to start with a simple system and introduce more complexity as we progress.

looks pretty good, few questions though

1. For the fight when one side loses does that destroy the entirely of the formation
2. Can we have multiple units fighting the same areas
3. What does skill level do?

I'm very hyped to see this continue enjoying it so far :). Very glad we didn't bomb the base honestly.
The Locations Value as a Fortress and Scavenging Site are massive.

Battle for The Pentagon: Assignment
[X] Continue with the operation

We will continue with the assault the loss of further legitimacy amongst the DC area from Edens little gift was bad enough, to destroy the Pentagon now would be catastrophic even if the wasters don't know the history behind it, they still see it as a symbol of the United States we have all suffered the wrath of an angry wasteland populous before let's not repeat that. Yes, Sir Lt. Roberts replies I believe we should proceed as LeMay suggests, the 1st Air Assault Squadron will eliminate any emplacements or grounded aircraft and then Provide CAP for aerial and frontal assaults. I would like to add that we ought to keep a number of forces in reserve rather than rely on a concentrated attack, something to keep in mid we have close to no intel on this group other than what we've seen so far. I'm proud of what my people in Intelligence have been able to accomplish however we are severely lacking in resources and personnel let alone the time to train them as such we are somewhat impotent in our ability to provide battlefield recon. Enough Lt. LeMay states we've discussed this and weighed the options for too long every moment we waste here gives the enemy time to entrench their position, lets figure out who goes where and be done with it. Right I concur we've hemmed and hawed over hypotheticals long enough let's get to work you say with finality.

An air assault without transports seems a bit unlikely and I'd rather have the gunships on the field rather than having them waiting for the worst.

Battle for The Pentagon: Part 1 Air Dominance
[X] Plan: Revised DEATHCLAW DROP

The operation began in the waking hours of the morning, The virtibirds took flight and four Companys trudged up a rocky incline towards the front gate of the pentagon their suits of X-02 whirring and clacking against the rocks as the 'birds flew on ahead of the main force to soften up the defenses. The Companys gathered at the collapsed bridge leading to the pentagon and stopped there waiting for the 'fireworks' to conclude.

Wing-1 VS 1st Citadel Defense Force

Wing-1
1D100 = 67 + 33 (Autumn's martial) + 50 (No AA) - 10 (defensive positions) = 140

1st Citadel Defense Force
1D100 = 97 + 22 (???'s Martial) - 50 (No AA) + 10 (defensive positions) = 69

Losses

Wing-1
1D100 = 80 + 50 (No AA) = 130 (ACrit Success No losses)

1st Citadel Defense Force
1D100 = 16 - 50 (No AA) + 10 (defensive positions) = -24 (ACrit Fail)

Actual losses
(1st Citadel Defense Force 22/22 (T-45b), Pentagon robotic security force 3/3)

It was a slaughter the small surface garrison was unable to damage the gunships much less bring them down the BOS had made an attempt to bring a group of old Sentry bots they had managed to repair likely from the lower levels of the building. The Sentry bots' hulls were no match for the powerful nose autocannons, and HE rockets of the VB-02s circling above the clearing in the center of the instillation. The BOS infantry reorganized itself the best it could under these circumstances and attempted to utilize some of its prepared defenses for cover this however did little to shield the paladins as the cover failed to protect them from the gunships compliment.

The gunships radioed back that they had completed their task and were now providing CAP* as ordered. With that the force that had been waiting at the end of the collapsed bridge climbed the hill to the Brotherhoods gate and encountering no resistance placed plasma charges on the gates and waited for the transport to drop its horrifying payload. After receiving radio confirmation of the deployment, the charges on the gate were detonated the gate crumpled into superheated goo and slag the first thing the gate force saw when they entered was the deathclaws prowling around some T-45 wearing corpses presumably looking for a snack with a quick set of hand gestures the bio forms began sniffing around the courtyard for any remaining BOS forces.

Your forces quickly found the entrances to the lower levels and stationed a guard detail around them with some makeshift barricades as the command elements took stock of the situation. It was quickly noted that all the obvious BOS virtibird pads were empty this was particularly concerning because as your forces inspected the surface layers of the pentagon it became clear that the BOS forces encountered here while obviously caught off guard by the attack were only able to muster token resistance through a very small defense force that left the question of where exactly the main BOS force was. This particular question was also bouncing around the minds of your command staff with significant concern.

We've taken the surface, but the bastards aren't even home, we saw neither hide nor tail of the enemies virtibirds they could be anywhere LeMay grumbles with a grimace. Relax Roberts says they can't have gone far this was their main refueling station once they realize that we have taken the surface they will likely attempt to relive the forces in the underground. You can't say that for certain the brotherhood could choose to strike at the purifier inside the Jefferson monument which only has a garrison of a single company and 3 VB-02c Gunships. while the aircraft have certainly proven their worth today the Company will be spread thin, I suggest we send our reserves back to the purifier or other sites which need protection LeMay says in rebuttal. To that Roberts has nothing left to argue and nods in weary assent well then, I suppose we could spare some of the reserves to defend Adams and the Purifier though we will likely need some for the siege here.
