It's been a real struggle figuring out where you are ever since you awoke in that dirty alleyway. The city is a strange one, but all cities are strange to you since you have no idea who you are. You seem to have a basic knowledge of what things are like a car, the internet, and complex socio-political systems that lead to a culture of superheroes.

It's not a non-sequitur by the way, you have seen at least three super-powered beings fighting in the streets since your awakening this morning. A man flew over the street a few minutes ago and the whole city is being repaired due to some alien invasion that happened a month ago. Even with your non-existence memories, you know that alien invasion should be a lot more impactful but people seem to have to take it in stride.

This is a strange city you have woken up in and it's wonderful, you feel the excitement bubble in your core, that desire to adventure and explore that is in the heart of any hero. You admire the resilience of the people who have taken an alien invasion in a stride. You want to meet these people, you want to form bonds and learn new things.

But who are you, you need to decide a name for yourself, to introduce yourself to people.

[] Chose a name

But there is something bubbling up inside you, a feeling of all-encompassing fullness and well of pure potential. And the well is overflowing now. A shard of magic emerges from your soul and rests near your heart, in your metaphorical hand as it were. You feel you can cast this magical spell regurgitated by your well of potential and it will alter the world in some way.

What is the first card you cast? ( Rules will be an approximate usage of the MTG card game rule, as such you require mana. Which primarily comes from lands. Hence I rolled randomly until I got some mana sources for you guys. Other rules will be explained as they come up. But remember you are summoning a copy of this thing that is a permanent object or creature.)

[] Vodaren Estate
Mechanical Effects:- {Tap}: Add {Colourless Mana}.
{Tap}, Pay 1 life: Add one mana of any Colour. Spend this mana only to cast a Vampire spell.
{5}, {Tap}: Create a Blood token. This ability costs {1} less to activate for each Vampire you control. (It's an artifact with "{1}, {Tap}, Discard a card, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.")

Narrative Effect:-(Summon a Giant Gothic Magical Castle. It comes fully staffed with workers and guards and even some minor vampire mages. But due to a lack of colour mana, it will be very hard for you to cast any of the coloured cards. It will be super obvious if you summon the Castle in the middle of a City. It won't cause damage but panic is assured. Pros, its a fairly potent power by itself, Cons it will be slower growth unless you are really lucky on what you roll)

[] Thriving Grove:-
Mechanical Effects:-Thriving Grove enters the battlefield tapped.
As Thriving Grove enters the battlefield, choose a Colour other than green.
{Tap}: Add {Green Mana} or one mana of the chosen Colour.

Narrative effects:-(Summon a fairly large and verdant grove. Pros it provides a lot of flexibility in what colours it provides to you also its not going to cause a panic as suddenly trees is a know phenomenon. Cons it doesn't come with any sort of infrastructure.)

[] Boros Guildgate:-
Mechanical Effects:-Boros Guildgate enters the battlefield tapped.
{Tap}: Add {Red Mana} or {White Mana}.
Enter with merciful hearts. Exit with battle cries

Narrative Effects:-(Summon a Giant Stone Gateway staffed. Being tapped means it can't be used to cast spells right away. Pros Its like a mixture of the two options, its a magical gate so it can be used as a base but it doesn't get staff, and it offers a fixed type of mana. Slight panic but its easily manageable.)

What do you plan to do

[]Write in(Give me a general guideline of what you want to do. Things like laying low or finding a place to practice magic.)

Your mind made up, you embark on the next course of action with the vigour of someone who is hungry and thirsty. Hopefully, you get some food in you soon. But you are excited for adventure either way.

[X] Thriving Grove

[X] Try to figure out what is happening and where you are

So what is the background for our character? Are they from a modern world or one at a different tech stage?

The back ground is yet to be determined in a later vote. But they are amnesiac and have at least a modern level of college education.

I remember something similar. Are you rebooting an old quest?

[X] Thriving Grove

I'm not a fan of spawning a vampire castle in the middle of the city and putting a giant portal right after an alien invasion? Sounds like a second wave to me.

No, that was someone else. I was inspired by that story.

Of course, you don't remember your name, it wouldn't make sense if you know your name while you lost most of your memories. But you are sure you can choose a new name once you learn more about yourself and the world. Wouldn't want to stand out from the culture you are in right?

But you shake yourself out of the concern and continue to explore the city. It bears the name of Central City, a midwestern city in the state of Missouri in the United States of America in the Continent of North America.

It's a friendly place, the people here greet you with smiles as you walk the streets trying to find a place that gives you more of an idea of what's going on here. You find your target after a few hours of searching, asking people about the nearest attraction. While you explored you also tried to see what the shard of potential in your soul is and it turns out to be a land, or more specifically a spell that will transpose a magical grove in the world that will provide you mana, after a few more minutes of scrutiny the flow of information ends and you are left with many questions. Why a grove, why does it give you mana, what's the point of mana, etc???

But you set aside your question and walk to the flash museum, the monument to the greatest hero of Central City. You grab the free hot dog being offered on the door and then scarf it down, your growing hunger pangs subsiding for now.

The Flash turns outs to be a speedster with an astounding career, a hero for half a decade he has fought everything imaginable and several unimaginable beings with his team the justice league.

You learn a bit about the crazy world and then you feel your soul swell again and you get a new shard in your soul.

Mox Amber
{Tap}: Add one mana of any colour among legendary creatures and planeswalkers you control.
A moment in time made tangible, has the power to realize epic visions.

You notice the magic and analyze it, a sort of spell that will conjure an arcane artefact, that will give you more mana. So that's good, you can summon it without any mana which is better than the land in a lot of ways.

But now that you have eaten enough food not to starve and gotten some bering on the kind of the world you are in. What do you want to do now?

System time, you will draw a card every update, unless it's combat then it's much faster in the universe.

You can always write in to play any card that the MC possesses if you can pay the mana cost. I will try to make a hand thread mark soon. You can't have a hand that is bigger than 7, you always discard cards down to seven cards unless you have a card that modified that.

We will not be playing by a strict order of operations for the rounds and such, it will be narrative.

You are in DC, a mishmash of Comics, shows and even tv shows.

I do feel like keeping the Mox Amber until we need it because otherwise it could be a flashy target to steal. Also we are in DC universe interesting. Might want to look for somewhere out of town to deploy our grove.

Thoughts, discard needs to be random, or oldest card, to prevent massive fights. Mana will quickly become irreverent, when we can quickly get dozens of every type of land after any decent amount of time. Which is sort of the outstanding problem in lore Mages have a near infinte suplly of mana, and lands Regen fast.

lands are actually really rare. i had to roll hundreds of cards before a land shows up. Remember the website I am using isn't going to give standard lands. so they are all going to be named and are rare in the grand scheme of things, you could literally not get a land of hundreds of updates.

I will keep that thought about discard in mind.

You feel a new spell join your soul and you give it a brief look as you walk out of the museum. It appears to be some sort of random mana-generating science fair project. That will be an interesting thing to summon once you decide to do it.

Mad Science Fair Project

Cost {3}

Roll a six-sided die. On a 3 or lower, target player adds {Colourless}. Otherwise, that player adds one mana of any colour they choose.
"When it comes down to it, science is more art than science."

You walk from the city centre towards the less well areas which one of the museum's tour guides warned you about. Engel Wood and Lawrence Hills, are derelict industrial areas. They are filled with abandoned warehouses and properties, a perfect place to introduce some greenery.

The area starts to get grimmer as you walk towards the rows and rows of abandoned buildings. This area of Lawrence hills was the first place hit by the thanagarian invasion and had yet to recover as much as the rest of the city had. There were only so many resources to go around and apparently this area has a history of being a low priority for the Government of the city.

You spend a few hours looking for the perfect place to put down your grove. You find a spot that's acceptable in the end. A chemical factory that had a lot of its products run off on its premises. Most people don't visit because of the massive risk the chemicals pose and the proposed cleanup is years in the future. It is a massive complex which could hide a magical grove if done inside the actual factory.

You are also getting hungry and cold again as the night starts falling, so you need to find food and shelter you think to yourself. Maybe the grove will have some fruits and such.

What do you want to do now.

I have made a post that showcases what cards you have and a summary of their effects and where they are rule-wise.

Grove is probably a good idea, so the new card is a mana rock for 3 mana, not too bad though we lack the mana to cast it for now.

[X] Establish the Grove inside the Warehouse, do so while focusing on thoughts of Fruit and Nut bearing Trees in full bloom, a Tree House with Rope Bridges and Huts up in the Canopies all linked together, with knotted ropes and rope ladders that can be pulled up for some privacy and security. "May as well get a safe place to sleep with some food...."
