Chasing the Sun (CMGQ Spin Off)

[X] Remain Pure

I think it is better to focus on the skills we have than spread out into several different skills.

With a foreknowledge from half recalled glimpses of Solar Annihilation's WIP sheet from before this quest started? I don't think we need to worry about her getting splatted before we meet her; She's not called Magical Girl Solar Annihilation for nothing.

[X] Remain Pure

Forget it, seems like we all know what we want here.
I don't.

But then we just had a mentor figure tell us that our build is viable, and speak against the attempts to 'multiclass'. I have no idea what any other Graces would do, so I just don't want to break what works.

I'd probably consider Shining Light, simply for self-sufficiency's sake, and also because I don't find its nature contradictory to our Prayer as much as others. But if Sister Mist says we can do without, we can probably do without.

[X] Remain Pure

Look, we can always diversify afterwards. But I want Selene to know that her... 'daughter's' wish did not end with her death. We can poke into other options afterwards (provided this Quest continues beyond that but oh well if it doesn't).

Edit: By the way, what was the story with the Demon 'defying his natural fate' and being the boyfriend of an MG?

He started as an ordinary demonic footsoldier, a mook, hooked up with an MG who got sent to the ancient past (the early days of the eternal war) via exceptionally rare time travel magic, and then got stronk and near unkillable so that he could survive long enough to reunite with her a few thousand years later on Earth. Closest thing he had to a best friend in that ancient era is currently a Duke of Thirteenth Hell, and one of the little group's associates from back then is currently a Duchess.

Over those thousands of years he also gained the Defiance affinity, the main affinity of that MG, which is super weird for a demon because that's a conceptual affinity.

Edit:
Assuming I'm remembering everything right. That quest finished a long time ago.

Pretty much what justinkal said.

The demon's name is Orux; in-universe, he's known as the guy who literally beat the odds into submission. Maya and Dragul were both superior Demons but knew him with the latter actually befriending him. All three were fully expecting to die rather early on in their lives without ever really amounting much to anything... but then a young girl clad in green quite literally stumbled into their lives on complete accident and everything changed for them.

Orux found love, Dragul learned that his power didn't end at surface tension, and Maya got affirmation that she wasn't wrong.

After that young girl finally left for home when Chronos came knocking, they all agreed to get strong enough to see her again. Strong enough to see the end of the road.
Now Maya and Dragul rule as Dukes of Hell, two of the strongest individuals among the Unified Darkness, and Orux has gone on to be so close to virtually unkillable that he unintentionally redefined what it means to survive things you really shouldn't be able to.

Adding to what the other two said, the comment about natural fate should refer to the fact he faced down Gabriel herself at that time, who is just about the most powerful combatant the Unified Light can field. And he lived. Not won, mind, just lived. But that in itself is an incredible achievement in this situation.

Huh. So what are the three's 'ethics and morals' like? Since although they got influenced by a modern Magical Girl, they are Demons. On the other hand, we've seen that Demons don't necessarily mean Evil (as shown by a Librarian Girlfriend) and modern Magical Girls are... One of the most variable things in the LCC, just like humanity but with power.

Orux is probably the most conventionally 'decent person' of the three. If I remember correctly, he's something of a blood knight, super blunt, but willing to stop and give advice to a random person he's never met before if they look like they could use some help.

Dracul was something of an insecure aristocratic bastard child. These days he's close to the honorable vampire archetype in personality. Spends his days snatching up MGs that have been forced into the UD's service but otherwise straightforward and dislikes small talk. Is slightly racist against Fairies, but that's a complicated story.

Maya is, was, and probably will end up always being the weirdest of the trio because she's very "family first, by any means necessary". Super mom energy, will adopt you at the drop of a hat if you're young enough, and will support her allies to the hilt. She also likes taking in prisoners of war and having them father more children with her.

Also complicit in killing Gabriel.
Demons. There was going to be at least half a dozen war crimes each, even after becoming friends with that Magical Girl even if she was Good Aligned rather than one of the other types of Magical Girls (and I'm not talking Pure versus Dark Magical Girls here). Just unavoidable. And taking out a heroic champion for the other side in total war is... It can never be called a war crime, though the methods might be. It's just something which has to happen to win battles and ensure the campaign goes your way.
