[X] You and Yuuno immediately made your way there, stepping in as quickly as you could. You revealed your identity without a thought, calling upon Raising Heart to help you. (You already have some basic combat experience, but your ID has been revealed.)
[x] Sword fighting. Your father's started giving lessons, helping those who want to join the hunter corps. Someone needs to clear out the monsters from the wilderness. Nanoha uses Modern Belkan style.
Fight: 84. Notable Success. Monsters destroyed before any real damage or casualties occurred.
When the monsters appeared, you and Yuuno went to interfere without a second thought.
"You need to imagine a form for Raising Heart to take." Yuuno informed you, "A weapon to defend yourself with, and armor to protect you. These will form the basis of Raising Heart's combat form and Barrier Jacket."
A weapon? There was only one thing that came to mind. You pictured it in your head as you recited the chant, and by the time it had set up, you were dressed in your training clothes and holding a bright pink katana with a jeweled pommel. The sword was abnormally light and unbalanced, and felt... off. Reluctant, almost. As if close combat was not where it was meant to be. You resolved to think about that later, instead taking to the sky, the soles of your feet glowing with pink platforms that let you walk upon the very air itself.
The monsters were creatures forged of steel and magic, with neither vitals nor soft points. Nevertheless, the hunters and police fired at them, trying to keep them in the middle of the plaza they'd appeared in while the less combat able fled, either to retrieve weapons of their own, or simply to escape the battlefield. One of the gunmen noticed you as you entered, raising his weapon as if to shoot you. You waved, and his eyes widened before he fixed his aim back upon the rampaging creatures.
"Are you here to help us?" One of the officers asked you.
You nodded firmly. "Yeah. Raising Heart and I'll take care of this!"
He frowned, apparently torn between allowing a 9 year old into the field and the knowledge that you were a mage, and thus empowered. He finally nodded, ordering the others to switch fire to the second monster, and leaving the first for you. Having to dodge bullets while you fought would have been... difficult, so you appreciated it.
You quickly ran forth, entering the metal beast's range, and began to attack. Your first few blows cut through it's steel skin, making it roar in rage before it struck back. Dodging was simplicity itself, the beast was slow, far slower than your dad's strikes. You'd already rolled under it's legs and come up swinging on the other side cutting through it's back. And yet... while you seemed to be irritating it, it wasn't dying. There were no vitals to hit, no arteries to cut, no nerves to strike. It was more a mass of magic and steel than any true creature. You danced forward and back for a few moments, your blade scoring cuts, and removing slabs of metal from the beast's body, but the core of it, that black pulsing magic, remained undamaged.
"You need to seal it." Yuuno informed you as he cast spells of his, spells of binding to wrap the second monster in bright green chains and keep it from attacking. "While these summoned creatures can be defeated by destroying the metal that they're using as a body, it'll be really slow. Raising Heart has a sealing mode though, so you can use that instead."
You skipped back, removing yourself from it's range as Yuuno bound it in chains as well.
"Raising Heart, " You ordered, your voice steady. "Sealing Mode."
For a moment, you wondered if the weapon would disobey, but finally, it spoke. "Yes, Master." The blade shifted and changed, and more components added themselves to the hilt. "I can be shot." Raising Heart sent you an image. A swing, and the sealing spell would be launched. It wouldn't work from up close though, Raising Heart was a bombardment style, not a melee one. That was fine, this would be enough.
You took a breath, and swung the blade, sending forth a wave of pink destruction. The magic tore through the barrier that the Seeds had erected, causing the false reality they had projected to shimmer as it flew forth and connected with the monster. It wasn't enough though. While the monster reeled, it's body fluctuating and dropping steel plates, it did not disappear. A second swipe of your sword, then a third, and the monster was finally sealed, disappearing with a loud clang as the remaining bits of metal hit the ground.
You turned your attention to the other monster, still held down by Yuuno's magic and the rain of bullets that were shredding through the thin layers of steel that made it up. It seemed mostly unharmed though, the bullets simply not causing enough damage to force it to dissipate. Still, it hadn't hurt anyone, and that was important. You sent waves of magic at it as well, your slashing blows causing it's armor to begin to fall. Finally, after another few blows, it all fell, and the beast was sealed. You collapsed, then, unused to the strain, and Raising Heart not designed to work in such a manner.
When you awoke, you were in your bed, and your dad was by your side. "Nanoha." He murmured upon seeing you awaken, "I'm not sure what to say." He admitted. "That was very dangerous. But I'm proud of you."
"I had to protect them." You replied.
"You did." He assured you. "So I see you put your sword skills to use, even with these new powers. Why didn't you tell us about them?"
"Yuuno only taught me a couple days ago." You admitted. "He asked me to help him collect the Jewel Seeds. They're what's making the city look so undamaged. But they're also the things that made those monsters. So I have to capture and seal them."
"I see." He nodded in understanding.
It's been 3 days since then. All sorts of people know your name, and you've had a number of well-wishers. Alisa and Suzuka especially have swung by to talk to you and hope you'll get better, helping cheer up the otherwise dreary medical room (And what a surprise it was to awaken in a well furnished room instead of the ramshackle tent-and-lean-to setup that you were so used to). And most constant has been Yuuno. He's been limited to his ferret form, still recovering from whatever wounds he gained when he crashed and fought the first jewel seed. Today, however, you've been released by the surgeon and sent home when he finally admitted he had no idea how to treat you (he seemed oddly unwilling to take your or Yuuno's word for it you were fine). You're well enough to work or go to school, though you admit, you have little idea of how that'll go. Well. What now?
[] Go visit the part of the farm that you've been working at. You should probably find out if your schedule's changed.
[] Go talk to the Quartermaster, and ask to be reassigned to the scavenging and hunting squads. You've got magic, even if you're not experienced yet. That automatically makes you one of the best in combat.
[] Yuuno's been warning you about the Jewel Seeds, and it only took 3 days for one to spawn monsters. Go seal one before it spawns another.
[] Hang out with someone:
--[] Alica doesn't have anything today. Chat with her.
--[] Suzuka's learning how to fix up old tech from Mr. Tariko. Chat with her.
--[] Your mom's busy on one of the farms today, but you can talk and help.
--[] Your dad's teaching martial training. You're supposed to do exercises every day, but you've missed a few. Maybe his classes will help make up for that.
--[] Your brother's going to be heading out on another scavenging expedition, though you're not quite sure how that works with the Barrier. Convincing him to let you tag along won't be hard now that you've got magic.
--[] Your sister apparently got back from a scavenging expedition yesterday. Talking to her might be nice.
[] Practice with Raising Heart.
[] DESTINATION. DISAGREEMENT. "Override, Master?"
