Prologue: Chapter 70
You gritted your teeth and began making hand seals for your Wrathful Fire Stream, your rage giving you severe tunnel vision. All you wanted to do was kill this damned bird faced fuck! Just as you finished the seals, Bird Mask was already in front of you, even injured he was much too fast! He rapidly brought down his lightning katana and the world seemed to freeze.
Lightning coursed through your body, shocking every nerve you had as the blade cut through your torso, leaving a deep, diagonal slash. Your body sprayed out blood and you fell backwards onto the sand. If you weren't a Jashinst, there was no doubt you'd be dead. You were conscious, but you couldn't move, the lightning katana seemed to have fried your nerves...at least that's what you guessed.
"Tch, impressed you're still alive!" Bird Mask spat, panting. "Now hopefully Ota took care of that other guy."
"Who, me?" Azasuke suddenly said, appearing in front of Bird Mask and kicking him away. He was mildly scuffed up, but uninjured overall. Bear Mask, now known as Ota, appeared next to Bird Mask, his left arm was dangling as if it was broken, but otherwise looked fine.
"He's fast...also uses Execution Fist..." Ota mumbled, glancing at his broken arm. "Be careful, Tezaki..."
"Now now, giving away my secrets isn't cool! Of course what's even less cool is you two nerds being beat!" Azasuke loudly said, annoyance very clear in his voice. "Guess I'll hafta get serious..."
Azasuke sighed and his eyes narrowed, his usually slack features were now upright and sharper. Thankfully you could still see everything with your Byakugan, but it was shameful that this lazy scum is saving you right now...!

"Alright, Ota over there is an Akimichi, and I think he had modification surgery, it was damn hard to break his arm. And Tezaki...hm...looks like he enjoys using lightning jutsu. Annoying..." Azasuke thought as he took survey of the situation.
Well what will Azasuke do now?
[] Go after Tezaki first. He's clearly injured, one good genjutsu or broken limb will take him out...
[] Go after Ota first. He's built to counter the Execution Fist...but how about some genjutsu?

"I'm getting real tired of you guys..." Azasuke muttered as you noticed a sudden burst of chakra coming from a spot on his back. A dot-like, almost bacteria looking markings quickly covered Azasuke's skin. His skin began to glow a deep orange before settling back into a slate blue color, his formerly black hair was now reaching his mid-back and was recolored into a snow white. He gave a raspy sigh as his fingers turned into needle-like claws, his eyes were now pitch black with yellow irises, and finally his teeth morphed into looking like a shark's, triangle and jagged looking.
"What the fuck is that?!" Tezaki spat out in surprise.
"W-What...?" you managed to sputter out, gaining enough movement of your body to crane your head upwards to get a better look at the transformed Azasuke. But what shocked you most was the faint aura of demonic energy coming from Azasuke. Did he...somehow absorb demonic energy?
"Really don't like going this far," Azasuke said, his voice much more guttural now. "But I'm gonna end this now."
Ota was the first to make a move, rushing forward with a punch, his his fist suddenly grew multiple times in size! Azasuke vanished into thin air before he was struck and appeared behind the Akimichi, his needle-like fingers now growing to over a foot long. Tezaki shouted a word of warning to his partner and jumped between Azasuke and Ota, attempting to slice Azasuke with his electrified tanto.
Azasuke simply vanished once more and even with your Byakugan, you couldn't see his next move! Deep scratch marks appeared in Ota's chest, making him cry out in pain as he swung wildly around himself with this enlarged fist, kicking up a thick screen of sand. You saw Azasuke reappear, uninjured as he licked his bloodied fingers sadistically.
"God damn, what a rush...!" Azasuke muttered to himself as he lunged forward at Ota once more! However, Tezaki seemed to predict him and countered by spitting out a large blast of lightning from his mouth, but Azasuke dodged to the side, the body flickered towards Tezaki, attempting to impale the ROOT member with his fingers! Tezaki tried parrying with his tanto but wasn't fast enough to properly guard himself, resulting in two of Azasuke's fingers viciously going through his shoulder, making it go limp.
But Tezaki did something surprising, he grabbed onto Azasuke with his other hand and shouted at Ota, the Akimichi quick to rush in and grab Azasuke with a one armed chokehold. Azasuke coughed and sputtered, thrashing wildly in order to escape Ota's grip!
"He's getting away...!" Ota groaned, gritting his teeth as Azasuke brutally stabbed his claws into Ota's legs.
"One second is all I need...!" Tezaki grunted, gripping his tanto with his least injured arm and flowing lightning chakra through it.
It was around that time you realized that you could move again! The deep cut hurt like hell, but you knew it wouldn't kill you, not much could anyway. You could try to help Azasuke, but there was also merit in playing dead for now...
What will you do!

You loathed the man, but Azasuke was your best shot at getting out of this without going back to the Leaf. You jumped upwards, a seething, burning pain spreading across your body from the major wound you acquired, but you ignored it and rushed forward towards Ota, whose back was turned towards you! You grasped your dagger and plunged it into Ota's back, making him freeze in place as he roared in pain!
Azasuke then easily broke out of Ota's grip and with speed you couldn't even comprehend, kicked the tanto out of Tezaki's hand and swiped at him with his claws. Tezaki screamed as Azasuke's claws raked his face, carving thin, bloody trenches that went from above his eye down to his chin. Tezaki writhed on the ground in agony as you took the time to stab Ota in the back a few more times, making him fall limply to the ground. He wasn't dead yet, but with his shallow breathing and the glazed over look in his eye, he was on the cusp.
You swore in pain as blood gushed from your wound, forcing you onto your knees. Sure, you were immortal, but getting cut like that still fucking hurt! You saw Azasuke turn around and look at you, reverting back to his normal, human looking form. He looked extremely confused and asked, "How the hell are you even alive? That cut would have killed anyone..."
"Shit...sorry guys, I got careless..." another voice spoke up, it was weak and almost gurgling, but it was clear it was Dosu's voice. He held his hand to his neck to stop the blood flowing from his wound.
"Okay what the fuck!" Azasuke exclaimed. "You two should be dead with those wounds, here are are walking around like it's no issue!"
"None of your business..." you growled, getting to your feet.
"Just be happy we're still alive..." Dosu muttered.
"What the fuck...well. I guess it's a plus you're fine...I think?" Azasuke said questioningly. "Anyway, we still got him to worry about."
Azasuke pointed to the squirming Tezaki, who was clearly in no shape to continue the fight any longer. You, Azasuke, and Dosu crowded around him and Tezaki looked wildly with his uninjured eye, clearly afraid but trying to think of a way out of this mess.
"What should we do? I don't mind killing him..." Dosu grunted, clearly more than a bit angry about his slashed throat.
"Lord Orochimaru wouldn't give a shit about collecting these guys, I know that much." Azasuke plainly stated. "No rare kekkei genkai or anything."
Well? What will you do with Tezaki?

"Tell me everything you can about Danzou. He ordered this, right?" you asked, kneeling to get a better look at Tezaki.
"Heh...fuck off. Even if I wanted to tell you, I couldn't..." Tezaki weakly stated before sticking his tongue out at you. At first you thought it was just a childish insult, but then you saw what looked like a seal planted on his tongue. "It'll stop any attempt to spill the beans..."
"Then you're worthless. Dosu, you can finish him off," you muttered. Tezaki took a deep breath and closed his eyes, awaiting his death. Dosu slapped his metal gauntlet with a kunai to make a loud ringing sound, then roughly grasped Tezaki's face. The ROOT member screamed as Dosu flowed his chakra throughout Tezaki's skull. After a moment, Tezaki's eyes rolled into the back of his head as blood popped out of both his ears. With a few more convulsions, Tezaki perished.
"Finally..." Azasuke sighed. "I suppose you two ain't gonna tell my why you're walking around with those injuries, yeah?"
"Nope," you plainly stated.
"Whatever, Lord Orochimaru will figure it out soon enough," Azasuke shrugged. "Let's go home. We finished the mission."
"That I can agree with," Dosu muttered. You nodded, very eager to get out of the damned desert. But first, you gathered Tezaki and Ota's corpses (which Azasuke for some reason cut off a finger on each of them and put them in his pocket) and you burnt the bodies until they were nothing but ash, scattered to the desert winds.

The trip back was thankfully uneventful. You refused to go back by boat, so you walked through the desert and through the Land of Rivers, Rain, Grass, Waterfall, and finally the Land of Iron to reach the Land of Sound. Since everyone was rather focused on just getting home, it made the trip thankfully quick, just under a week. During this time, the wounds you and Dosu acquired had healed, though they would leave some nasty looking scars. Azasuke found one of the many secret entrances to the Otogakure and after a few miles of seemingly unending hallways, you reach the village itself.
"Here," Azasuke muttered, thrusting the scroll containing Ibuki's remains into your hands, along with the fingers of Tezaki and Ota. "I'm gonna go sleep on my couch. Lord Orochimaru will come for you two eventually."
With that, Azasuke vanished with a puff of smoke. Both you and Dosu knew you weren't going to get any rest until you met with Orochimaru, so you two waited silently until a familiar looking man with glasses appeared.
"Follow me, you two," Kabuto commanded coldly. Uncaring, you followed Kabuto through the village until you reached the same place where Orochimaru had trained you before, a large, square room with a second floor balcony. Standing on the balcony was Orochimaru, who had an amused grin on his face.
"Here." you bluntly said, throwing the scroll and the fingers at Orochimaru. Without missing a beat, the Sannin extended his tongue and caught everything, bringing it back to his hands. "Ibuki is in the scroll, Azasuke cut the fingers of Tezaki and Ota for you, two ROOT guys."
"Gross..." Dosu muttered under his breath.
"Very good. Very good indeed, Kurama, Dosu..." Orochimaru chuckled, his eyes gleaming in excitement. "I believe you two need a suitable reward for helping my plan move along."
"And what would that be?" you asked, curious, if a bit cautious.
"You have four options," Orochimaru began. "I can give you one of my Cursed Seals. It draws in ambient demonic energy in the air to power up the user. Perhaps you saw Azasuke use it? Of course...there is a risk. There's a 1 in 10 chance you'll die. But, the power is quite worth said risk. Second, I'll give you a contract with the snakes. Snakes are a powerful ally to have, but you need to earn their respect. The third is simple, you may ask for a custom made weapon or tool using all the resources the Sound has, for no cost. Finally...I will grant any request if those three don't sound appealing. Of course...I have no time for foolish ideas, so put some thought into it, hm?"
You didn't particularly care what Dosu wanted, but your mind was swarming with options. As you saw with Azasuke, the Cursed Seal looked appealing, and the risk of death was null due to your Jashinism, but did you really want to be branded with Orochimaru's mark? You could see the use of having snake summonings, it would only make you more versatile...but admittedly, summoning allies goes against your burn it all fighting style...
The third option of having something useful made for you was a neat concept, but you'd need to really think on it before answering, if you wanted it. And finally, there was the request. A way to freely choose your own reward...

Fun fact time.
Tezaki and Ota are my creations and are significant literally whos from canon. Ota is the pudgy closed-eye kid that was Minato's teammate/Jiraiya's student, and Tezaki is Hiruzen's son/Konohamaru's dad. Jury's out on how willing Ota was in joining Root, but he was an earlier recruit than Tezaki and at this point is indoctrinated enough. Tezaki, however, had no idea what he was getting into when offered a special promotion offer from his normal ANBU spot. It's not really stated in canon I think, but in Pyroverse Danzou is the commander of all of ANBU publicly, with Root being his little pet project. So of course his eternal butthurt is going to make him use the son of his rival/enemy as a tool, and quite easily to boot. Ain't he a swell guy?
