What I'm worried about is if tony has a personal stake in this.

They've been hinting at this both in Winter soldier and Ant-Man...what if Bucky was the one who offed Howard and Maria Stark?

In Winter Soldier Zola directly implies that Tony becoming an orphan was a Hydra op. In Ant-Man, we see Howard in a major position of power at SHIELD and might be in a position to be suspicious. His HYDRA colleague was a major player in arms later, Howard would have the means and ability to spot something fishy.

And Bucky just happens to be HYDRA's go-to wetwork guy. Hmm.

Now obviously it's not Bucky's fault, he had had half of HYDRA's science division poking into his brain by that point. And as seen with Hawkeye and Helen Cho, (in Ultron) obviously mind-controlled people are not held responsible for their actions.

Tony may not agree. in principle, sure, but there were his parents. he might take what excuses he can.

To me it makes sense that Rogers would want to protect Buck.

He's his last connection to his old life. Steve's always had a 'man out of time' thing going for him and you suddenly hand him a link to his past? I'm not at all surprised he wants to protect the man who watched his back through most of World War II.

Also, anyone spot War Machine getting taken out in that trailer? After that I bet things become a lot more personal for Stark in that war.

Another factor is that there seems to be some incident that sparks the whole crisis, beyond the general fuckery in the MCU in the past few years like the Ultron crisis--some sort of terrorist attack by HYDRA, perhaps, which ends up framing Bucky, leading up to the scenes in the trailer where everyone's out to kill Bucky instead of just capturing him. And that's what forces both Steve and Tony to their extremes, pushing their pre existing tensions to the breaking point.

Not sure if a prison for the superpowered (I assume that was the Raft there) is that useful in an universe where most antagonists are killed

This feels like Avengers 2.5 given number of other characters. In trailers we saw captain America himself less than the other guys lol. Not that I am complaining marvel needs more of this kind of interconnected stories. It's the main reason and appeal of a MCU after all.

So who's playing that dick who stole Cap's shield? Which version of him is it?

The trailer makes it pretty clear they're just flat-out trying to kill Bucky, from what I can see.

To be fair, the Winter Soldier is basically a Hyper Lethal Vector. You pretty much have to come at him with deadly force from the get go, because less lethal measures aren't going to cut it.

Mind control is a thing in MCU. Hawkeye got affected, kilsd bunch of people,so did bunch of other people who came across Loki.

They are not being punished for it. So why is Bucky ?

happens, and people think he did it of his own will?

The end of that trailer is literally 10 people causing a kerfuffle on an airport runway and probably delaying lots of holiday makers. Why are Marvel films so bad at producing events with a sense of scale?

also this will probably be the Nth iteration of Spider Man oh god whyyyy stop rebooting him again and again and again and again we know who Peter Parker is by now

edit: holy shit the weird overlay shown over the recap of Avengers 1 e: at 0:22 puts the total cost of an actual alien invasion on New York City at only $18.8 billion and the number of casualties (not fatalities, casualties) at 74.

weeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaak
