[X] Go after Joe. Just in case Gomamon is leading him into a trap.

I'm really annoyed that we've been split up again, but at the very least we shouldn't be going around alone (well, if we count human and partner as a single unit, that is).

Funny thing is, this was the only way of approaching the castle that guaranteed a party split- all the others would have just led into a hunt for Gatomon.

[x] Go after Tai and Kari. Finding Kari's partner is important. Making sure she and Tai do so safely is even more important.

What's matt doing? Would think he follow after Joe, i prefer to back up Kari and Tai.

Yeah, I'm kind of annoyed too, because this seemed like the best way to keep the party together. Which is why I voted for it.

I kind of wish that Sora could stay with Izzy because he could use his best friend around when his tech fails him, but I'm not positive that someone will go after Joe if Sora doesn't. Mimi already said that she'd stay with the Bakemon, and she's probably the closest friend he has in the group.

Oh, this is the fun one!

Time to follow after Joe! I guess this means I don't really need that encounter table...

And A Realization
You don't need much time to think about what you're going to do. "Joe, wait up!" You run after him into the depths of the castle, because Tai and Kari can take care of themselves and you think the others will be fine staying by the entrance.

Or, well, as fine as it gets, anyway. What with being stuck in a spooky castle that contains at least one ghost, and all.

You catch up to him pretty quickly, Biyomon flying just behind you. He seems sort of surprised that you followed him. "Sora, why are you here? Shouldn't you be with the others?"

"They'll be fine," You shrug, and will yourself to believe it. "There's enough of them that they should be able to handle things. And I don't think any of us should be on our own right now."

"What am I?" Gomamon asks. "Fried tuna?"

You roll your eyes. "You don't count. There should be more than one Digimon, just in case there's some kind of fight."

"Not that the ceiling's all that high, or anything," Biyomon points out. "I don't think I'd be able to do as much as Birdramon as I'd like around here."

"That's because this is indoors..." Your friend tries to point out, as if anything has to actually make sense here. Sometimes it does, and this just might be one of them, but it's not like there's an actual rule to that effect, or anything. Not even back home.

"Still... we should probably try to avoid fights," You decide. "Especially since we're guests here." No need to ruin what little hospitality you've received unless it turns out to be a trap of some kind.

"Also the fact that our Digimon won't do well here?"

"Yes, but don't say that out loud!" You never know who could be listening in. And anyone who could come to own a place like this... they'd have to be pretty powerful. Even if the servants are Bakemon, that doesn't mean that whoever this castle belongs to is someone you should offend. You're supposed to be the Digital World's heroes, that doesn't entail annoying everybody around you.

"R-right, sorry..." The two of you walk in silence for a few moments, before Joe speaks up again. "Do you think we're going the right way?"

"Don't worry about it!" Gomamon waves his flippers as if it could be that easy to make Joe relax. You know for a fact that it's not. "I'm sure that it will all work out just fine!"

Thankfully, you don't have to worry too much about going the wrong way, as another Bakemon floats the opposite way down the hall. "Um, excuse me," You wave him over, and he floats up to you.

"Yes? What is it?"

"My friend is supposed to meet with the lord of the castle, we were sort of wondering where we're supposed to go for that."

For a moment, the bedsheet ghost gains a look similar to shock, but it fades just as quickly as it appears. You're not sure whether you imagined it or not.

"If you're looking for Lord Myotismon, you just need to take the first staircase, and then turn right. Or is it left...?" Well, at least you know you should take the stairs. "It's the same direction as this hand." So, probably right. Got it.

You think he could be a bit clearer than that, but he's already heading back the way he was going before, so you can't exactly ask him.

"Lord Myotismon..." Gomamon sounds out the name, before looking up at you and Biyomon. "Doesn't that sound sort of familiar to you?"

Your partner nods. "Wasn't he the one that was supposed to run the Overdell? He sent the Tags there, too." Well, that explains why the Bakemon here aren't really surprised to see humans. The Myotismon that left File Island was friends with Maki Himekawa.

"If this is the same one, it could make things easier," You realize. "At least... that means we probably don't have to worry about being attacked or anything. He told the Bakemon on File Island to look out for the DigiDestined."

He also left a long time ago, and never contacted his old servants again after sending them the Tags. But you don't think bringing that up is going to help anybody.

As things are, though, you're still going to encounter an Ultimate Level Digimon, and possibly on your side or not... Since you know where to find him, and won't be taken by surprise or anything, that at least means that you can sort of prepare for... whatever comes next.

By which you mean you've got a lot of things that you'd like to ask, when the time comes.

[ ] Such as, if he was friends with Maki, if he knows where she's gotten to.

[ ] Such as why he hasn't contacted the Overdell recently.

[ ] Such as where he got the Tags.

[ ] ...But none of that's relevant, so you'll just focus on why he'd want to see Joe.

[X] Such as, if he was friends with Maki, if he knows where she's gotten to.

We really should ask about this one. While Sora only met her once, Maki's friends are worried about her. Plus, we know that there's a human in the Digital World who can't do anything, and that might be Maki.

Wow. I see all of you are as tactful as Izzy is.

It is MORE than likely we will get answers to our questions later, so let's wait until then, okay?

Okay, jumping right to the big thing!

Well, after Joe's part of the conversation is dealt with, anyway. And I've made the decision that this particular subplot will definitely be resolved by the end of the segment after this one... mostly. Can't clean up every loose end with just one main viewpoint character. And some things might be more fun if left alone.

Myotismon
Once you get upstairs, it's easy enough to tell who 'Lord Myotismon' is. Partly because there's only one Digimon there. But also because, when he sees the four of you, there is an actual visible reaction.

"So... This world finally has active DigiDestined once again." The way he looks at you... he seems to be trying to judge you, or something. You're not really sure how to describe it. You back away a little, because Joe's the one who was meant to be doing this. You're just the tagalong, though you like to think that things are better for having you hanging around.

Joe, for his part, seems rather nervous. You can understand that. Still, he looks up at the vampire and says, "Y-yeah. You're Myotismon, right? One of the Bakemon said I should find you... something about me not having a Tag and Crest?"

Somehow, Myotismon's gaze becomes more intense with those words, if it's even possible. There's a purpose to this, you're sure of it, but you just can't see it yet.

"I see. So you would be the Child of Reliability, then... or, perhaps, Light."

Joe shakes his head. "No, Kari's got Light. It- it's probably Reliability, unless there's another DigiDestined we haven't heard of somewhere..." Thinking about it, that wouldn't surprise you as much as it really should.

The Ultimate Digimon seems surprised when Joe mentions Kari's Crest, but that really doesn't surprise you. You found it in the Analog World, after all.

...Come to think of it, this Digimon probably knows something about how it got there. Another question for later, you guess.

"...Very well. The Crest of Reliability is in a locked room on the first floor. Or, at least, it's supposed to be locked..." His hands momentarily slip into his cape, and suddenly Joe is scrambling to pick a key off of the ground. "There is a Gotsumon that is meant to be standing guard at the moment. Show this key to him, and he should let you pass."

Your blue-haired friend is quick to scurry off, but you find yourself rooted to the ground once again. Myotismon sighs. "I suppose it would be too much to hope that only the two of you would come here?"

You nod. "Our whole team came here, searching for someone that is... important, to one of us."

"Their Digimon partner, I suspect."

"How did you...?"

"It has been a long time. But I remember what a Digivice looks like, and for a long time, Gatomon would never be seen without one. It vanished some months ago, and now the new DigiDestined have come to this castle. It was not a difficult conclusion to make." Okay, you guess that's fair...

Actually, that brings up something you've been meaning to ask. Sort of. "That's right... you were friends with Maki Himekawa, weren't you?"

Myotismon nods, though his face is now kept carefully blank. "She came to my manse on File Island a very long time ago, along with an Agumon she had partnered with, to seek knowledge of DigiCode. I taught her what I could, and we remained in close contact even after that whole business was resolved." You get the feeling that he's leaving something out, but you can't tell what it is.

"Do you know what happened to her?" And, suddenly, his gaze grows cold.

"By the time I left File Island, she had spent far longer outside of the world of her birth than any being of your world should live. And yet, she sought a way to return. I have been told that this castle has gained somewhat of a... reputation. It is not an ill-founded one."

That... doesn't actually answer your questions all that well. But, from what you can tell, he is just as old as Mayor Jijimon, if not more so. He would have time to learn how to speak around an uncomfortable subject.

And you guess it tells you something. Maki and Myotismon must have been the first to enter this castle and never come out. You don't think you need to ask for any more details on that.

Not when there are so many other things you could be doing.

[ ] Go after Joe. Again, just to make sure he doesn't wander into a trap.

[ ] Continue talking with Myotismon.
-[ ] About how he obtained the Crest of Reliability.
-[ ] If he knows how the Crest of Light got to the Analog World.
-[ ] Why and how he sent the Tags to the Overdell.

[ ] Go off and explore on your own. This place seems safe enough.
-[ ] Try and find your way to a tower.
-[ ] Try and find your way to a courtyard.
-[ ] Does this place have a basement? It should. You should look for a basement.
-[ ] You did promise to try and find Koemon...

It doesn't look like Myotismon is going to give us any real answers, and I don't like the idea of Joe going off alone.

-[X] If he knows anything about how Yokomon and Tokomon's digieggs got to the Analog world.

Joe would be fine, its not he would get lost and the location is on the same floor as Izzy and the others so they would be close by to help.
Check the basement for interesting things.
