"We'll keep a look out for her," You say without thinking. "I mean, we'll probably be in the general area for a while, so if she shows up..." Do not mention going to the castle to them. That just seems like a terrible idea right now.
"I'm sure it'll be fine," Prairiemon waves you off. "She probably just got lost in the woods. It happens." Somehow, you don't think even he believes that.
"Yeah, there's not a lot Koemon can't trick her way out of," Chameleonmon adds, sounding just as much like he's trying to reassure himself. "Really, I'm more worried about if she's found another Digimon in those woods."
Izzy seems to realize something, if the way he quickly turns to his computer is any indication. "Hey, what are you doing?" Tentomon asks, fluttering above his partner's shoulder. "There can't be anything that important."
"It's not. Probably. But I need to get this down so I won't forget it."
"Forget what?"
"Most of the rumors around think that there's something off about the castle itself, but what if that's not true? What if there's a Digimon causing all this?"
"What sort of Digimon would that be?" You ask. "I don't think I've heard of one that could just make others disappear... at least, not as their main focus." And, really, wouldn't a Digimon that powerful have better things to do than hang around to spread rumors of a haunted castle?
Gabumon glances up at you. "Do they need to be that powerful? I'm sure I've heard of a Champion that could do that kind of thing once..."
"Yeah, Clockmon," Palmon agrees. Like this world wasn't already terrifying enough.... "But I don't think those really live around castles."
Joe sighs. "I'd ask what you mean, but I don't think I actually want to know."
"You probably don't," Gomamon confirms.
"Are... are you going to the castle?" Opossummon asks, looking around at all of you.
Izzy shrugs. "Potentially. We DigiDestined are supposed to protect this world from threats, and whether it's the castle or a Digimon, it's definitely threatening."
"We think my partner could be there," Kari adds. "If they aren't, then I guess we don't have to go, but... Something keeps pulling me in that direction."
"But you can't!" She insists. "It's too dangerous!"
"What do you mean?" Tai doesn't seem to take her worries very seriously. "We're the DigiDestined. If we can't do it, no one can."
(Tai's Diplomacy roll: 85)
"Tai. Tai, that's not how it works..." Matt groans. Whether or not it is, though, Opossummon seems a bit less upset than she was earlier, so you guess you can't really complain.
"He's right, though," She says. "You're DigiDestined, and DigiDestined can do anything. So... you should be able to find Koemon, right?"
"That's the plan!" Biyomon chirps. "We're going to go up to the castle, deal with whatever's there, and come back with Koemon! Easy!"
"That's if we go to the castle," You remind her. Though, at this point, you're pretty sure you will. Kari's partner, Maki Himekawa, Koemon... there's a lot of things that could potentially be tied to this castle, and letting something like that be would be failing in all of your duties as a DigiDestined. Such as they are, anyway, when a good portion of this world doesn't entirely realize that you exist.
You spend some time talking to the three remaining Digimon at the camp about less important things, and then you all decide to get back on your way.
Your next message from the Analog World comes a few days later, once you've reached the dark forest that is apparently where the castle is located.
Apparently. Digimon don't really go near it anymore, and the flock of Swanmon that you passed walking along the lake told you to stay as far away from it as possible. But Kari's still feeling the pull into the forest, so... you guess you're going to the castle.
But that doesn't matter right now. The email is more important.

We're glad to know that your group has started to build itself up again. Traveling while separated was always the most nerve-wracking part of our adventures in the Digital World, and we're sure that the reunion has given all of you some renewed peace of mind.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Sora on the newly Digivolved Digimon, and wish Kari luck in finding hers. You were right to make locating her partner a priority, as you simply don't yet have the prestige needed to survive in the Digital World without one. Maybe once you gain notoriety, but in no way should that ever be your end goal.
As for the Crests... if they glow while a Digivolution is taking place, perhaps they act as amplifiers for your own power. Or, maybe, they are simply there to guide you along a path that will prevent something like the MadLeomon incident from happening again. We can still only speculate at this point, and hope you will tell us if anything else odd happens involving them.
And for castles... well, there are only two that we can think of. First, and less likely, is an old palace in the mountains that was being fought over by several factions of Gekomon and Otamamon before Machinedramon obliterated them all. Odds are that it has since been taken over by whatever factions have retained their memories since then, though there's no way to know for sure.
The second castle is much more important. It was built by a being called Homeostasis, and acts as a sort of link between the Digital World and all others. After our adventure ended, the door inside of it was how we managed to get home. It took us right back to the place that we had left from, and we have reason to believe that it would be able to connect to other places.
There are other important parts about that castle as well. It was where our Digivices were first created, as well as the most likely origin for yours. But if Digimon have started disappearing into it and never coming back... well, suffice to say, it's unlikely that it still fulfills those purposes.
If something has managed to take over that castle, it could have dire consequences for the rest of the Digital World. Act carefully, and if you're lucky, you could be able to find a way home out of that.
If you're not, though... it could easily mean the end for us all.
...Well. That was pleasant. Not that you were planning on treating this casually or anything, but still... Suffice to say, it'll be hard to come up with a proper response for this.

Also, now that you've reached the forest, you should probably think about how you're going to handle getting into the castle.
[ ] Just go up and knock on the front door.
[ ] Look for alternative entrances that are still doors.
[ ] You have Birdramon. Anything open to the sky is a perfectly valid access point.
[ ] If there are walls you can climb, you have a way to break in.
[ ] Just blow up a wall. No point in subtlety when half of you can't use it, right?
