But the existence of the "you" that you believe in is so tenuous - Shin Megami Tensei/Persona General

it looks like they went back to the older persona games for inspiration which means a smaller slightly more fleshed out main characters.

Plus it looks like it takes place in the normal world again, which is good. I am so hyped for this.

As a bonus for your recent purchase of a ticket to the hype train here is a complementary Youtube playlist for those who haven't seen it yet. Someone, or a group of people, made a fan soundtrack for Persona 5 that's worth checking out. Be advised this was made a while ago, so with the recent trailer it may not entirely fit the tone of the game anymore.

Meanwhile, here is the mp3 of the song that played in the trailer that some anon ripped: http://a.pomf.se/vafgbw.mp3

Yeah, I was thinking there was some resemblance. Also with Philemon.

In other news, apparently that cat is female.
EDIT: and named Morgana.
FURTHER EDIT: and the girl is called Anzu Takamaki(高巻杏), the guy is called Ryuuji Sakamoto (坂本竜司).
Also, there's something about the Seven Sins?

The Latin for the seven deadly sins appears very briefly behind Morgana in the trailer; additionally, the Latin words 'cavum' and 'irritum' appear as well in the background. Google translate tells me they mean 'hollow' and 'useless', respectively.

And since the sin of lust, or luxuria, is seemingly identified with Morgana the cat...

Perhaps this might explain the apparent Persona transformation thing? Maybe the protagonists are able to act as physical vessels for their Personae (which, in turn, could be manifestations of the sin with which each character is identified) because they are somehow spiritually or psychically hollow and so fit to be thus inhabited, albeit briefly?

Imagine, for a moment, that the sin is the Persona, the manifestation of an aspect of self. Perhaps the seven corresponding virtues might be the internal shadows to be confronted and subdued? Rejecting the ideals of society in such a way might be interesting (if a little bald).

Edit: please gods let the OST be as funky as the trailer

If you set your aim so unrealistically high you are only going to get disappointed.

In a mainstream japanese game during this decade? Nah.

You are going to have to wait until more intolerable old farts bite the dust from old age and maybe then there will be some cultural changes.

Dragon's Dogma was a mainstream Japanese game and it had homosexual romances. With, like, almost everyone in the game, even after they've died as part of the storyline.

Atlus is however weak on that front, so I'd maybe settle for not using gay people and fat people as the butt of jokes.

I've only been with the series since Fes, but I think it's pretty obvious how hyped I am for this.

That trailer just oozes style, it's -delicious-. And I'm glad to see that they're continuing the theme of giving each Persona game a theme based on a part from JoJo's. :D

I'm so damn hyped, I'm gonna go back and replay P2IS... now if only I could decide whether to go with the Gemini/Tom or PSP version...

It's amuses me that party members we saw in that video somewhat match up with my head-images of some of the Undersiders. Proof enough that I've both read way too many wormfics and played too many MegaTen games, methinks...

It depends, can you read japanese? becuase if you're planning on playing Eternal punishment as well I'm uncertain of any fan translations for the PSP version of the game, so I would reccomend the PS1 version.
