Born Of An Umbral Star [DxD Quest]

Kinda justified, He had technical authority after he first created humanity, but after Eve ate the apple without the assistance of Lucifer he kinda just gave up on them for a couple centuries it's only now after other gods have come into existence that he has stopped focusing on heaven exclusively, and decided that he wants that worship back.
Ah, so we're the Brute Squad. That's what I suspected.

Hmmm what is his general attitude to humanity is it worshipers or favor creation. If it is worshipers he definitely doesn't need that since he is already powerful on his own.

Altera desperately trying to fit in with the other angels and make something beautiful only to fail and destroy it is both sad and adorable.

[X] God did not send Gabriel, His messenger. God did not send Michael, His healer. He sent you—which makes your quest a literal act of War. When you arrive, make this clear: your Father considers the mere capture of two of His children a declaration of hostilities. Ask the Mesopotamian pantheon if that's what they want—if that's what their civilisation wants. They know as well as you that a war with Heaven will only end one way, and do they really want to meet that end over this?

Welp, might as well stick what we're good at. Time for them to know Destruction.

Out of curiosity have any Angels fallen? Because if none have I suspect all of them are being scared straight by the prospect of God sending Anath to run fly them down. :V

It's DxD canon that a god's power increases in accordance with their number of worshippers. It's one of the reasons most of the non-Three Factions in canon don't like them—because their rampant expansion in the past to make the Abrahamic religions dominant on Earth had the side-effect of destroying a bunch of other pantheons or otherwise rendering them totally irrelevant because they were starved for worship.

God most assuredly does need worshippers; that's how he got to the level where his servants are an even match for other pantheon's gods, and that's how he'll stay there.

(Given in this quest we're in the Old Testament at the moment, and his reaction to two Angels being captured was to send literally War and two others also on a level that poses a direct threat to the Mesopotamians, we're not dealing with a God who doesn't care about his power, perceived or actual).

Well I personally found the fact that she learned to enjoy all the time she spent alone, and she happily reported the fact that her light spears are apparently capable of erasing stuff from existence more sad, but I imagine Anath will be perfectly alright so long as her father is around to give her commands.
Atm no angel has fallen yet.
Hm. I'm getting the feeling that this might kick off a pantheon war as everyone else frantically teams up to counteract a Heaven whose no longer quasi absent, and perhaps a tad irate about the mess the newcomers have made.

Is Falling a viable route in this quest?

Did somebody say Falling?

But more seriously, I for one am hoping to avoid us going that route. It would be nice to have a Heaven-based quest that stayed on the side of Heaven—God knows, if you'll excuse the pun, how many Devil- and Fallen-centric stories (I say, as if I haven't written three of them) there are out there. Heaven gets the short end of the stick in canon, and I'd prefer it not do the same here by losing somebody like Anath. Or even Lucifer, since he's still with us for the moment!

Remembers that God dies in DxD

Realizes how much of a broken bird Altera is probably going to be.

That's quitter talk.

We're going to save God this time around!

Worth pointing out that with Lucifer still in Heaven there are a couple of far-reaching knock-on effects.
Like the Devil faction just flat out not existing at the moment, or the fact that *******************.

Now, that just makes me grit my teeth in curiosity. :V

That isn't guaranteed to happen, but even if it does I suspect Anath will be surprisingly resilient about carrying* out his will, or simply cope by adopting some war orphans who she teaches how to create stuff with magic through sheer positive feedback via sheer exuberance that they can create things.

*Last requests/commands are optional.

This post brings with it three things
One: the vote is closed as Votes have essentially slowed to a halt.
two: in story now Lucifer's name has been retconned to be renamed into Helel at least until Latin is a thing but probably afterward for a while as well.

And finally, Something to look to forward to, a small glimpse as to what might 'perhaps' be happening next update.

This is what the LORD says: "See, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai."
Let not the archer string his bow, nor let him put on his armor. Do not spare her young men; completely destroy her army.
They will fall down slain in Babylon, fatally wounded in her streets.
"Flee from Babylon! Run for your lives! Do not be destroyed because of her sins. It is time for the LORD's vengeance; he will repay her what she deserves."

Keep time zones in mind. Voting cycles in a forum setting (live quests are different) should typically last at least 24 hours so that everyone has a chance to make their choice known and events don't rush past while they're asleep or otherwise AFK. It's past 3 AM where I am and I should've gone to bed... a while ago.

Save him from himself, you mean. Mike and Gabby are nice enough, but their boss was a diiiiiiiiick before he finally settled down and had a kid. :V

Worst-case scenario, she flies off and punches Ddraig or Albion in the snout until they start fighting back. They can take it... but the continent probably can't.

(or she Falls, of course)

Only if by Fall you mean meanders down to Earth, and put on a pair of shades this destroying everyone's ability to notice the 12 wings on her back allowing Anath to become a wandering hero who saves the world.

Don't forget the magical short shorts.

Don't know if voting is still open but im gonna put this here anyways.

Anath is literally heavens big stick in this situation, you do not send the most powerful of your warriors on a diplomatic mission if you don't want to set a statement.
It also bears repeating that she she is the most powerful of all the Seraphim, which basically means that there are very few individuals who could reasonably challenge her.

Also its kind of hilarious to imagine how various canon characters might react to a surprise visit from the one who was personally responsible for the phrase "to go old testament on someones ass" meaning what it does today.

She is kinda terrible at creating things , but on the bright side she can teach them to kill things better.

For non-DXD guys, what offed God the first time round was:
1) He JUST got done sealing off Trihexa, the Beast of the Apocalypse on par with him what with being in his own mythology and thus gaining power at the same rate he does.

2) Giant three way fight between his army, the Fallen and the Devils happens.
2.1) Two idiot dragons show up and decide to start fighting everyone. With powers perfectly suited to fighting everyone at once. God smacks them down, crams them into pokeballs and dump them into the power lottery.

3) After all this shit happened, Lucifer realizes that God was utterly exhausted from too much bullshit in one day, attacked and achieved a mutual kill.
