Bloody Evolution (RWBY / LoR)

So, a reception where there's Binah, Ash, and Ruby on one side and Salem on the other.

Should be quite interesting.

My initial gut instinct is to see how much singularity abuse can counteract Salem's ability to use magic, personally.

Most of the current votes are exactly that.

Mine, for example, would have us lock her Mana flow(?).

You are free to suggest more though! Like using Fairy to break up magic spells and have Salem's spell misfire straight into her face.

[X]"Once upon a time, three happy birds lived in a warm and lush forest... " But this is, after all just a tale for kids. Birds are abnormalities born from this fearful story. Yet, as it is with many fables, there are real situation and figures inspiring those stories. "Once upon a time, sadistic girl lived in a concrete jungle that is The City... And her arms could reach far... And you could not hide from her gaze... And her whispers could drive you mad... Unstoppable monster of the city and it's rules ultimate protector... The one, who is responsible for the darkest days... Arbiter by the name.. " Equip the twilight, o midwife of horrors. And kill the distractions when you have time, they don't present much threat to you, but you got Silver Eyed Warrior with you.

Oh neat, Salem has ten Anti traits as we discussed way back when. I love symmetry in character design.

And. Here. We GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Let the Battle begin!

"May you find your book in this place."
-The Reception's acceptance.

[jk] Group up and HIT HER TILL SHE DIES!!!
This is what I usually end up doing in jrpg's and it usually works for me!

I have no regrets, even for choices i wasnt here to make. From offering weiss the secrets, to taking in ash, all the way back to taking the magical girls and opening a tea shop, everything has turned out gloriously.

Could fairy be used to remove salem's mana, the same way it can remove blood by opening the body that it resides inside?

(Also, this is my first time seeing salem, she looks so evil. Spider hair kinda sick af tho)

You know what? There may still be some fifty minutes to go, but the discussion this Moratorium was supposed to assist did not quite manifest. So I am just going to open the votes a little earlier.

Vote away!

[X] Plan: Hyper-Murder-Death-Kill
-[X] Hit her with everything you got.
-[X] Protect Ash and Ruby while doing so.
-[X] Try to see if you can utilize Ruby's silver eyes through a process similar to the Library's Emotion level.
-[X] Try to shut down her magical abilities with Lock, perhaps Lock away the source of her Magic?
-[X] Leave nothing to chance and make sure she stays down.

Having everything be a curbstomp from the beginning makes me feel that there are no real stakes to the combat.
Which is good in my opinion, because this was mainly a story about characters around story mainly the characters around Binah doing things.

[X] Plan: Let's show Salem how wrong she is.

It will probably show up when @Nyarky posts their plan to vote for.

Yep, let me just:

[x] Plan: Let's show Salem how wrong she is.
-[x] She is accustomed to being the magical powerhouse in the fight, and probably don't care about her own injuries, slowly grind her down for a time.
-[x] When she (inevitably) will boast about you not being able to meaningfully injure her, lock her magic if possible and actually go to town on her, make her feel helpless, make her feel weak, make her pride crumble.
-[x] Protect Ash and Ruby, it would be a pity for them to die too easily after all this time.
-[x] Try and encourage Ruby's righteous fury, her being emotional enough can make her unlock her silver eyes powers, and they are Salem's bane.

There we go, plan online.

Yeah, the time of the year combined with what probably is combat decision paralysis really didn't allows the discussion to begin, a pity, I do think there might've been way to improve my plan with some help, but without anyone to iterate with, it's way more difficult.

[x] Plan: Hyper-Murder-Death-Kill
You have no idea how hard I jam whenever you put LoR music at the end of a chapter.
Jokes aside, while I like plan Hyper-Murder-Death-Kill's name, I feel as though this plan gives Binah a better idea of how to deal with Salem, as well as cluing her in on the advantage Ruby has and how to access it. Nyarky mentioned that she's used to being the powerhouse in a fight and immortal so she doesn't really dodge, which means it's a decent strategy to just not give her time to reform after turning into a fine paste.
The one thing I would change is being more detailed about how we "go all out" on her, maybe to look for an opening and then apply lock and throw everything and the kitchen sink at her, or just try to keep her at range by spamming fairies. She will boast, but she probably will do so for the entire fight up until we start winning, at least that's the impression I had of her character. Another idea would be to have Ruby and Ash participate in the fight not by going after her, but by blocking the projectiles she is going to be throwing our way to help free us up to do our thing, which leams towards keeping her at range.

Edit: Tried to make my reasoning clearer, hope that helped. Now I can fade into the void known as sleep.
