Marvel Will Not Recast T'Challa — How They Plan to Pay Tribute to Chadwick Boseman in 'Black Panther 2'

Marvel is forced to make decisions about 'Black Panther 2' following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman at 43.

As expected, it appears they will not recast T'Challa.
One possible take is to entitle the sequel Who is the Black Panther?, playing coy on who has taken up the mantle and keeping clues such as height and body-type hidden through camera work until Act 3 or so.

This will mean riding herd on the marketing people and sitting hard on leaks, though....

Again, I kind of wish they'd go with turning Black Panther into a team rather than a single Persona.

Marvel's 'Black Panther' Sequel Shoot to Begin in July (Exclusive)

Tenoch Huerta, star of Netflix's 'Narcos: Mexico,' is joining the cast of the untitled film from Ryan Coogler, sources tell THR.

Marvel Studio's plans for the sequel to Black Panther are starting to come into focus.

The sequel was sidelined due to the sudden and unexpected death of star Chadwick Boseman and a planned March 2021 production start was waylaid as filmmaker Ryan Coogler and Marvel tried to navigate grief and the need to move forward. It was the nadir of a year that saw no Marvel movies released for the first time since 2009.

Whatever their decide to do about T'Challa aside, I'll note that since Black Panther II isn't technically part of the MCU, effectively the last of the Cinematic branch of Phase four is going to come out around eleven months after the first film. The MCU is going to have speedrun through an entire phase in less than a year.
