Binary Stars (An Original Space Opera)

also does the character pic Always late used remind anyone else of Esdeath from Akame ga kill (I agree wth Nenshou on the metagamming thing I would rather have a character I like then one for gameplay (I could end up liking the commoner but stick with the noble)

Or just close the vote and work on the update later. You don't have to start on it right when the vote closes

Also, fuck it, I'm pulling an allnighter, and have extra time with that extra six hours, calling the vote in 3 hours.

On the one hand, I feel it's good to not let votes which are starting to stir up strong emotions drag on too long. People can get invested in their initial choices and double down.

This goes double if the QM isn't around to help moderate it, mostly by telling those who too far to knock it off or just noting when some side is pushing a spurious argument.

On the other,

Or just close the vote and work on the update later. You don't have to start on it right when the vote closes
Yeah there's no reason to tie working on the update to the closure of the vote. In this case I feel @1986ctcel's suggestion offers a satisfying conclusion to a vote where I'm seeing arguments start to get repeated, as well as, you know go easy on you as a QM.

It's not a meta game vs narrative vote.

Commoner has a lot of potential story and (in my opinion) would be more interesting than a minor noble house.

I am just pointing out that, on top of that, it has more points. As this is a quest with stats and a mechanical character builder, how we build the character directly affects the narrative. And more options gives us a bit more room to be creativeif we wish.

The 25? Sure- it goes to 1 skill. There is a good chance it'll land somewhere useful for most concepts.

We could use it as a cushion to put more points elsewhere.

Or, we could use it as a concept for a build where everything synergizes.

Or we could ignore it and build whatever we wish.

They are all more options.

I mean, I ain't judging your taste. But as I've pointed out, I'm not using fanart here. Your image I'm 90% sure is from the anime. So making some kind of 'purity' argument is a little dumb at this point. If being above-average busty is an issue for you... you really have to start cherrypicking the material. Because it's just as bad in-game.
Certainly I'm not here to kink-shame either. Just, if a non-negligible section of the quest voters is expressing that they're creeped out by the image used, I'm more than happy to suggest another to make things copacetic.

The avatar will lower my enjoyment of this quest. It's why I am pitching for another option.

Saying "ignore it" or "don't let it bother you" is not helping and is simply being dismissive of my thoughts and feelings.

Will I pitch a fit? Of course not. But, it also does not mean I'm not going to try and support options that would allow me to enjoy this quest to its fullest.

well luckily there is a pic you can use (it is the same character)

You know, to prevent any more of this shit from going on because seeing it is making me angry and irritated: Calling the vote: Plan Die Walkyrie wins!

I'm getting tired of the debate on pics going on right now.

See you all in an hour, maybe, If I'm not asleep or I decide to stay up late to get dinner.

... given this happened in the first vote as well I think this is a relevant topic to pursue: no, there is no objectively best option. The 'more' points doesn't mean you get more creativity or power. You're making a trade-off. You get things that the other options don't.

Are the vote options just not clear enough or something?

Character Creation Part 2: Stats, Mods, and Assignments:
Character Creation Part 2: Stats, Mods, and assignments:

You have 125 points to distribute to stats and skills.

+5 to Warfare, +3 to Strategy, +2 to operations, +2 to tactics, and Subterfuge +1 to Law, Administration, and Charisma From the Little Noble Trait.

Please place them next to the stat or skill, and the number you wish to have for the beginning of the quest.

Stats:
Governance: All about the state. ()

Leadership: All about getting people to follow. ()

Personal: All about the individual. ()

Warfare: All about the military. (5)

Skills:
Administration: All about rules, laws, and dictates that encompass the actual core of statecraft, and the impacts those decisions have. (1)

Law: Your ability as a Lwayer, and a student of law. Your ability to understand the Law. (1)

Diplomacy: All about interstate interactions, with a focus on negotiation and decision-making through non-violent means. ()

Subterfuge: Not quite aggressive negotiations, but definitely not "non-violent," encompasses all those happy accidents that rulers look forward to. (2)

Command: Features predominantly in military contexts, but any situation in which the character is the authority, this represents their capacity to exercise said authority. ()

Decorum: Represents the character's ability to fit into any context, and act as one would expect a leader to behave, be they an Emperor, a Captain, or even a particularly wealthy Aristocrat. ()

Oratory: Your public speaking skills. ()

Charisma: Your social charm and personal magnetism. (1)

Combat: Your ability to fight in single combat, and self-defense. ()

Strategy: Represents overall planning and conduct of military operations. (3)

Operations: Represents the ability to conduct a campaign and series of coordinated maneuvers. (2)

Tactics: Represents capacity to employ those techniques best suited to defeating an enemy in battle. (2)

Choose your Gene/Brain Modification:

[]Nothing: You are just a normal human, nothing has been altered in your DNA or your Brain. (No roll bonus or roll malus)

[]The Attraction Gene Mod (Note this is an Illegal Gene Mod!): Your parents wanted you to be… marriage material for any would-be higher lord. You now look like a goddess in human form who has come down from the heavens. Unfortunately, your parents had to make a deal with some very bad people… people who see you as their property. And will do anything to get you under their control. (+30 to diplomacy rolls. However, you will be under threat from a criminal cartel who wish to use you for… nefarious purposes. If discovered by your Superiors, you will be locked in the stockade for Illegal Genetic modification)

[]A Tactical Computer Mod: You have a tactical computer implanted into your brain. It makes you great on the battlefield, and you can connect your brain to the Fleet Battlenet instantly without a tac pad. Unfortunately, it makes you… a little bit socially awkward… something about your brain needing to be rewired for the implant to work. (+15 to all battle rolls in addition to your stat bonuses. -15 to social rolls)

[]The Jordan Administrative Computer: This top of the line administrative computer has it all for a lord of a planet. Administrative spreadsheet for managing finances, schedules, and otherwise. Unfortunately, it being a civilian brainmod, it is incapable of connecting to the Imperial Battlenet, leaving you at a disadvantage. (+10 to Administrative roles. -10 to Battle rolls)

[]The Terrium Miner Mod (Available because you are the littlest Noble): Your home planet is and always shall be the greatest producer of Terrium in the galaxy. And with such wealth and power at its disposal, only the best Genetic modifications could be afforded to the miners and colonists that risk life and limb just to remain on the surface of the planet. (-20 to disease and wound rolls. However, if you are wounded, you are out for twice the amount of time a normal wound would take for a normal human)

[]A Personal AI (Note: This is an Illegal Brain Mod!): You always wanted the best, and you knew the human brain alone could not achieve your ambitions. Creating such a thing nearly cost you your life, but it was well worth it. (+20 to all rolls. If discovered, you will be imprisoned and executed for the crime of creating, implanting and allowing an Artificial Intelligence into the Imperiums battlenet, and computer system)
-[]Add in the AI name here below this vote.

Where was your first assignment:

[]You did not receive an Assignment: The Fleet gave you a notice that your services were not needed at this time, and you could resume your duties as Governor of your home planet. A rather disappointing turn of events, but you have the freedom to make the most of your position, gather money, and even build your own ship.

[]The Royal Retinue: You were chosen out of 10 million applicants to a position in the Royal Retinue, one of the most elite special forces in the entire Galaxy. The Training was brutal, the Selection, hellish. But you were now one of the best soldiers in the galaxy. And a Captain to boot thanks to your noble rank. Your first assignment was... protecting a little girl as she toured the Galaxy with her ailing mother. It was not what you were expecting… But at least this trip isn't going to shit like a few other assignments you could have been assigned. Just a nice quiet tour of the Quadrant.

So why do you feel so uneasy?

[]The SBS Pride of The Empire: The Superbattleship. The Greatest Battleship of the Old Earth Fleet, with over one hundred heavy laser batteries, fifty MAC guns, three million missiles… It is truly the greatest Weapon ever designed by humans. And it possible the most boring assignment in the entire fleet. Like what the fuck, all we do is fly in the capital system, as a show of force. Why the hell is this thing not going out into battle?! Why was this ship not joining the main battlefleet.

[]The BC Trident: Widely considered the most lightly armored posting in the fleet. The Trident little more than a lightly armed frigate disguised as a Battlecruiser, with much of its armaments taken off to repair the damaged Battleship Pride of the Emperor. It was assigned to Patrol the Sigma Sector, the only route into or out of the Mobius Cluster, alone since there was no one ballsy enough to try and punch through the Mobius Cluster without one helluva fleet. Unfortunately, some crazy bastard decided a scout flotilla would be enough to sneak through the sector's defenses, right into your patrol lane.

One ship vs a Scout Flotilla, with planet reinforcements still ten minutes away. The first barrage nearly killed you, with the bridge sustaining a near-direct hit. But you were alive. And your ship still had functional weapons, a trained crew, and enough power to keep going.

[]The Frigate Godwin: The newest ship in the entire fleet, on her second mission with the 15th fleet. She is scouting for the 15th Fleet in a raid in the Security Leagues Territory, a probing strike against the Security Leagues Fortress World of Galvatron X, the opening move in a potentially long campaign to secure the Halo Sector.

Unfortunately, you've been caught and are engaging the enemy. Hopefully, your captain won't get you killed… but knowing that idiot, you might have to take command.

[]The Administrative Corps: You have taken the Civil Service Exam, and were accepted into the Administrative corps, at Zuflucht. Of course that means you are going to need to spend time in the system, learning the ropes. But this place disgusts you to no end, and you don't know why.

[]The Science Division in New London: You have… been sent to supervise a science division in New London… Nothing more, you're just babysitting a bunch of people who have not gotten a single new technological breakthrough in any way, shape or form in fifty years. What the hell is wrong with them! They have to be all children!

Oh… Well, that explains it… Who the hell recruits Teenagers for a Science Division!?

[]To Cyprus XII: You have been tasked to rescue an embedded agent on the Federation World of Cyprus XII. The mission is quite simple. Fly a ship deep into enemy territory, rescue someone you have no inkling of an idea of what they look like, what they sound like if they are even alive… and rescue them.

Geez, this has suicide mission written all over it.

AN: Alright boys and girls, here we go. Now Start Planning and become awesome.

Please Vote in Plan Format PLEASE!

Good night!

Okay I think Charisma, Governance and leadership skills are most important since the charisma to lead and the ability are good and good at ruling sounds like a good idea

Honestly not all that confident in my point allocation, but this was the best I could come up with. Any thoughts? Potential for improvement?
