"Happy to help, Captain, just tell me what to do. ...although, you really need to know that I'm not piloting a heavy-duty machine right now."
A serious-looking woman with short black hair pops up on another screen. "We're more than aware that you're piloting a mass-production standard-use model, Wiseman."
...you have a feeling that this lady is the second-in-command that Mark was telling you about earlier.
"The plan is for you and Curran to serve as decoys, while Trinity goes to finish it off by taking out the cockpit. ....although, if that friend of yours is willing to lend her firepower, we'd appreciate it."
You and Aina both nod. "Understood," she says. "I'll see if I can't blast through some of that armor."
With that, the Apsalus takes to the air, while you re-orient your Zaku toward what your IFF now labels as the Grand Gundam.
Which, now that you're about to attempt fighting it, really does seem.... almost impossibly huge, even for a mobile weapon. ...and now it just started standing up?! Seriously?! "That thing was a Mobile Armor twenty seconds ago, and now it's transforming into a colossal Mobile Suit?! What the hell?!"
.....ooohhhhh crap, now it's looking at you. No, wait, scratch that. It's targeting you. Adrenaline flooding through you like crazy, you direct your Zaku to get the hell out of the way. Good news is, you manage to evade the Grand Gundam's first shot, and by enough of a margin that you escape with only minimal cosmetic damage from being hit with chunks of dirt and rock. Bad news is, it's already lining up for a second shot, even as it visibly goes to target Mark and Nena with its other weapons. ....advanced multitargeting capability with that much firepower? Are you fighting a Gundam, or a fortress?!
As you continue to push your Zaku's maneuverability to its limits, desperately attempting not to get shot down, a young girl's face pops up on a communication window. She's got reddish-pink hair, gold eyes, some freckles here and there... Speaking by any reasonable standard, you'd have to say she's pretty cute. "Seriously? You've never seen a transforming mobile weapon before?"
That.... that kid is teasing you, as if you're some backwater country boy who's never gone more than a kilometer or two from his house. It's pretty annoying.
Mark's voice comes up next. "Give him a break, Nena. Could be that his world hasn't developed variable frames yet."
Are you just imagining things, or was there something... off about the way he said that?
Nena hmms in thought, blatantly eyeing you as she continues to duck and weave around the Grand Gundam's cannon blasts. "Well, at least you're cute," she drawls. "Maybe I'll show you another thing or two later on~"
Is she.... flirting with you? She's a teenager, right? ....this is really kind of uncomfortable.
"Cut the chatter, you three!" You glance at the comm logs. Seems her name is Natarle Badgiruel. "T-minus 20 seconds until Sahalin's opening!"
"Roger that!"
"Got it."
"Ugh. Way to kill the mood, there, XO..."
The Grand Gundam stops, suddenly, before looking up.... it's caught sight of the Apsalus!
"Hey! Where are you looking?!" ...or it would have, if the G-Savior hadn't dived in to kick the Grand Gundam in its head unit.
"....Mega-particle canon, firing!"
Mark gets the hell out of Dodge, and just in time for Aina to give the Grand Gundam a one-way ticket to particle beam hell!
You can see some of the Grand Gundam's armor melting off, and then Nena.... grins. It's honestly really creepy. "This is Nena Trinity," she croons. "Gundam Meister of Celestial Being!"
A panel slides open on the forearms of her Mobile Suit, allowing a pair of small beam cannons to emerge and begin charging. "Gundam Throne Drei.... ELIMINATING THE TARGET!"
Blood red particle beams lance out from beneath Throne Drei's arms, piercing through Grand Gundam's cockpit. The colossal machine appears to tense for a moment, as if desperately clinging to one last gasp of life, before it stills. Your sensors are no longer able to detect any energy from it.
Nena remains where she is, laughing. That..... damn, that is one messed-up kid.
But, wait a moment. If you really pay attention to her expression... doesn't it look like she's trying not to cry?
