Beneath Celestial Depths (An Arpeggio of Blue Steel Quest)

[Q] Back To the island

Typing that made me think of the Island as being the one from Lost. Which is a hilarious idea. But seriously...

[X] Antarctica

[X] Antarctica

If we have any hope of finding friends and allies, or at least people who won't shoot us on sight, it's with Blue Steel. And if they're in the Antarctic, that's where I say we go.

[X] The Americas

Normally I would choose the safest option but our information on the world situation is still poor. Heading anywhere gave the same risk that we are dealing with the unknown. We are not even sure how Blue Steel is right now. Are their still aiming for coexistence or have they change? Another problem is that we could be attacked or found on route. So I suggest we head to America Empire.

While it true that the America Empire right now is on alert but I believe it just low level alert. A ship was attacked near their territory and thus they send out a investigation force. An investigation force that the current operating area most likely encompass most of the outer American territory . Heading to the Antarctica would be counter productive. Another is that the Antarctica would have a lot of eyes in the same time from around the world since it Blue Steel territory. Too dangerous.

Their inner defense on the other hands would be weaken since thus far more easily to sneak in.

It a bigger risk but one that worth it. If we succeeded, Surcouf could have access to a lot of option.

Ouch. Maya? really had a bad time of it before she went down, didn't she? Glad we saved her, shut down though she is. I guess she's locked down enough to be impossible to wake from outside?

[X] Antarctica

Might as well, I suppose? Everywhere else seems even more dangerous.

Well the smart move would be going to Antarctica. The problem is we're still acting based on outdated information.

we get to be heroes!

...well, sort of

anyway

[X] Antarctica

sounds like where we'll want to go for whatever answers we can find

and after that? Europe

Is it though? We've been awake you a few days, maybe a week. Last we knew, Blue Steel was at the Antarctic, circa 200 years ago, then all of the Fog shut down and went dormant. Worst case is assuming All of Blue Steel is awake and on the move to...somewhere. Things is, they'd be going at a convoy speed aka as fast as the slowest ship. As a sub traveling by ourselves at max speed, we would be able to catch them, provided we could find out where they're going. And if all of Blue Steel isn't awake, I consider it fully impossible that they would just leave their sisters to whatever random mercy. So we should be good on both of those counts.

But is that even what you meant? I might have gotten ahead of myself in assuming I knew what you were talking about.

I imagine we'll be changing course as outdated information rears it's ugly head. But for now, this is our best bet.

well, the fact of the matter is that it's the last place we know everyone was. For all we know there's still a bunch of ships up there, sunk or otherwise, and some of them may have started coming back online
I know our information is centuries out of date, but it's all we have to work with right now, so work with it we shall

I know that. I was just pointing out that even if they left Antarctica, we'd still be able to chase them down. And the only way that was going to happen is if the entire fleet woke up and decided to move, together or not, or splintered, in which case there would still be ships there for what ever reason. So it kind of doesn't matter how old the info is, they would still be working in the same time frame as us. About a week of being awake. Easily manageable to deal with either way.

Even if Blue Steel isn't still based there, is no longer a thing, or something (else) terrible has happened, with that having been their long-term base, there may well still be salvageable supplies and munitions. Or we might be able to salvage more potential friends off the seafloor, and I'm all for that, just keep a lookout below.

Maybe if we can find somebody else intact, they might help us put ourselves back together...but I'm being optimistic, and nothing good comes of that.
