Beneath Celestial Depths (An Arpeggio of Blue Steel Quest)

Even if we can't hack something, we could probably look for there password on the post it note on there computer.

Seriously I don't think we even need Hollywood hacking to mess with the other fleet of fog ships. They tend to be naive as hell and that would make them extremely susceptible to social engineering attacks. Taking out other ships with spearfish emails would be the funniest fucking thing. Breaking into human fleet commands by abusing our nano machines to make us look like a janitor and simply tailgating your way through the complex. There is absolute tons of stuff we could do that doesn't involve any sort of actual hacking to break into a system, we can casually guide people into doing that for us. Our nature as a fogship allows us to abuse social engineering tricks in ways never seen before.

Though I'm unsure if our ship has the social skills and knowledge to pull that sort of stuff of.

Bitch please. As if there was any doubt.

IRONMAN IMPOSSIBLE MODE

ENGAGE

So long as there is a sea beneath us and a sky above us and a destiny before us, we will march ever onward.
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!

I just finished watching the movie so it was the first off the top of my head.

It'll do.
"Once again I stand atop the broken bodies of my enemies... Victorious but not unscarred. The Scarlet-borne Directorate has been destroyed. And the UN lies dead and trampled beneath the ashes of Earth. As for my unlikely allies, I think that I shall allow them a reprieve. For in time I will seek to test their resolve, and their strengths. - They will all be mine in the end, for I am the Lord of Blades. None shall ever dispute my rule again."

I won't let you deprive Mary of her basic protagonist necessities! Even Gunzou had a neat submarine!

Not quite sure why INSANE is so popular (oh wait because shinies).

Anyway, in my experience in past quests with difficulties set like this... either INSANE turns out to be not really INSANE because of the perks of picking it and a bit of luck. Or INSANE turns out to have half the people who vote for it go away and the thread swan dive into a mess. Not a fan of insane difficulty.
Normal or Hard usually turn out better. Of course this depends on how the difficulties are handled. I mean if it's just #'s changing that's kinda just lolrandom which I'm 99% sure our GMs won't do.

(All choices have their benefits and drawbacks. Higher difficulties have greater benefits late-game, but bigger drawbacks early-game. The reverse is true for lower difficulties. Lore is also affected.)

Going off of this... there's quite a bit. What would make the most sense is that the 'harder' the difficulty we choose, the more everyone knows and reacts to what we've done I guess. I.E Insane = Scarlet Fleet/Fog/Humans are all 3 after us with MAYBE Blue Steel (Cuz this is how the vote looks so far) not going after us. And probably taking advantage of our massive agro draw. Oh and we'll probably start with nothing but empty hull.

Hard's probably just Scarlet Fleet hunting us down with Fog/Humans a bit miffed at us, not letting us hang with them anymore and the like, Blue Steel might even help us out on occasion. We've got limited loadout.

Normal's probably Scarlet Fleet mad at us, Fog/Humans normal, Blue Steel Helpful. We've got some stuff but we're missing our best stuff.

Easy's probably we can return right back to what we're doing, and we have all our cool stuff still.

So going off of my guesses based on intel so far... I just realized that INSANE would basically be playing Metal Gear/Solid style of THIS IS A SNEAKING MISSION, NAKED SNAKE STYLE.

...welp I'ma have to pick Insane now. We're gonna need a lot of balloons. We'll hide where no one expects us... IN LOW EARTH ORBIT, IN A CARDBOARD BOX. ULTIMATE STEALTH.

*finds thread* *reads*

It makes even more sense if secondary votes are taken in account. Result would be someone who like status quo and don't like humans, but believes that status quo is gone and unachievable and between Blue and Red Blue is much, much more preferable as Red are even worse than humans. While interacting with girl being kind without caving in.

But I'm perfectly fine with winning vote even if I'm late. Especially since they are what I would've voted for anyway.
