[X]Your Battle Meditation will allow the Endar Spire to make it farther, and evacuate more crew before it's inevitable destruction. Use it. You can get to the escape pods once everyone else is off.

[X] Head to an Escape Pod, and then enter Battle Meditation once there. Make full use of Jedi Speed to get to the pod ASAP so we can begin lending our aid with similar speed. If reasonably feasible, head to the Escape Pod nearest Revan's quarters/current position, thus increasing the odds we end up on the same one as her. If asked 'why this pod,' the answer is, of course, 'Because Force;' it is best not to let slip that Revan's imposed identity is someone important.

[X] Head for the Escape Pods, but make a detour. Grab Revan, Trask Ulgo, and a few other troopers if you can. Stay in the Escape Pod area, and perform Battle Meditation until it becomes Vital that we escape. Priority for our escape pod should include Revan, Carth, Trask, and any remaining Troopers.

You close your eyes for a moment before nodding your head in an affirmative. Whether you like it or not, it is not arrogance to say your Battle Meditation is vital to the Republic War Effort. You cannot allow yourself to fall into Malak's hands.

But that doesn't mean you're going to straight to the escape pods.

You turn and exit the bridge, pausing only to offer a "May the Force be with you." to Onasi; he doesn't acknowledge it, intent as he is on the Spire's Holotank.

And then you're racing through the corridors of the Endar Spire, the force lending you speed as you duck and weave among the crew members as they race to battle stations and make ready to repel boarders.

1d20 → [1] = (1)

You aren't even halfway to Revan's quarters when the boarding pods begin to hit, the Endar Spire quaking under each impact. A flicker of premonition sens you leaping as a boarding pod crashes into the corridor you currently occupy, and you hold on for dear life as the air in the compartment begins to vent into deep space. A moment later the emergency forcefields kick in and the atmosphere stabilizes, but by then Dragon's Teeth are already charging out of the boarding pod, followed a moment later by a pair of Dark Jedi.

You don't have time for this.

You draw on the Force, sending a wave of telekinetic force barreling towards them, stumbling the closest two of the Dragon's teeth and distracting the Dark Jedi for a crucial moment. You then reach out to the most distant of the power armored soldiers and use the Force to yank a trio of grenades off the troopers bandolier. You can feel the panic as the closest Sith recognizes what you're doing, but you've already depressed the detonator, and all five of them are without cover; you, on the other hand, have already made it around the corner.

The explosion is deafening. There are no survivors.

But you have no time for pride or even satisfaction. You can feel the faint presence of Revan moving, heading towards the escape pods. You shift course, moving to intercept as the ship shakes as more Sith arrive. Twice more you skirmish with Sith infantry, and though neither group has either Dragon's Teeth or Sith present, both cost you valuable time.

But you're almost there now. You can feel Revan barely fifty meters ahead of you now, just around the corner. She's stopped for the moment, but you're getting close to the escape pods, and once you rendezvous you can get off this ship and onto Taris and then-

Your thoughts are cut off as Trask Ulgo is flies through the air in front of you, hitting the wall with a wet sounding thump before sliding slowly to the floor, leaving a trail of blood as you feel his presence in the Force flicker and then die. Around the corner you hear screams, intermixed with the crackle of lightning.

You hurtle around the corner, and come face to face with a another Dark Jedi, one currently blasting Revan and two Republic soldiers with Lightning. Momentarily, he senses, you, stopping and turning to face you.

Your blood runs cold as you recognize him. It's been many, many years since you last saw Bandon, but even as twisted as he is by the Dark Side of the Force, you can still recognize him as one of the many Padawans who followed Revan and Malak's call to war. Only he's not a Padawan anymore- you can feel the Force swirling around him, the anger and the hatred.

This one will not go down so easily as the two you faced earlier.

He smiles as he looks you over, recognizes you. "Bastila Shan. I had been hoping to find you here. Malak will be most pleased when I bring him your head as a trophy." Then he draws his double-bladed lightsaber with a flourish and prepares to attack.

What do you do?

Notes:
A bit short, but I figured it best to give you some choice for how to deal with Bandon. Write-ins are strongly encouraged- as you're a consular, you'd have to roll pretty well to win a straight up lightsaber duel. Better plans will give you better odds when you fight Bandon.

Well Brandon is a moron.

there's a reason malak dispatched borders rather than just firing on the ship.

It's more that he's aware that capturing Bastila alive will probably end with her becoming Malak's new apprentice, and he kind of wants that job for himself. And considering Malak's later decision to Base Delta Zero Taris, I think Malak's OK with Bastila dying. He'd certainly prefer getting her alive, but dead works for him too.

Did we just roll a natural 1? :o Our luck!

Spelling mistake

you probably meant "will not go down so easily"

We're a single-blade Consular right? So a direct attack probably isn't going to go well unless we get some good rolls. Perhaps a delaying action until we can assess the status of Revan and the two troopers? Also look for any environmental elements that we can take advantage of?

Butterfingers over on SB had an interesting idea, assuming we can spare an escape pod...

[X] Write-in: Engage in defensive combat to lure him into position in front of an escape pod, then distract him with a taunt. When he starts to reply, force push him into the pod and launch it into space immediately. It probably won't be the last we see of him, but getting Revan to safety is more important.

-[x] But make sure first that we have another escape pod first it would be embarrassing if we got killed because we sent the enemy to the safety.

Thanks for catching that. Fixed.

1d20+3 → [18,3] = (21)

You were twelve the first time you crossed blades with Bandon. A demonstration duel between initiates, fought for a visiting Master who's name you no longer remember. Then, as now, his opening is straightforward, brutal, and direct. His saber clashes against yours like a hammer, the shock of his blows reverberating up your arms as he begins to push you back.

You honestly can't remember who won that match, so long ago. It bothers you for a moment, but as the would be Darth Bandon rains blows down on you, you quickly shift focus to more immediate matters.

Because it is quickly becoming better that Bandon is a better duelist then you. Even hampered as he is by the close quarters of the ship's corridors, his mastery of Ataru is sufficient to drive you back, and force you to abandon offense entirely in favor deflecting his attacks.

You give ground, backing slowly towards the blast door, and you see the twisted amusement written across Bandon's face. He has you on the defensive, and he knows just as well as you that all it will take is a single mistake on your part for him to emerge victorious- he has already realized that you have no hope of winning a lightsaber duel with him.

How fortunate that you aren't limited to fighting with only your lightsaber.

A twitch of the Force opens the Blast door behind you, and you back away faster, leaping onto the briefing rooms table to make room, and drawing a growl from Bandon as he barrels towards you to resume his assault. You reach out with the Force, hurling chairs and and shattered glass at him, but you only buy yourself a momentary reprieve as he simply charges through the smaller objects, and neatly bisects the larger ones.

But that's enough time for you to reach the other side of the room and open the opposite Blast Door. But then he is on you again, bellowing in furious anger, his blows raining down heavier and harder, empowered by his fury. Pain lances through your arms as he batters your defense, pushing you back and back, out of the briefing room, and down a barren corridor. A single Blast Door is all that separates you from the escape pods now, but without a way to distract Bandon, you'll never reach them, and there are no convenient objects to throw at Bandon here, only the corpses of the fallen.

But then again, you can use that. You reach out with the Force, and the fingers of the dead twitch, hurling blaster bolts at Bandon. Your aim is poor, but you force him to twist away as he dodges or deflects the blaster bolts. You keep firing for a moment longer before Bandon regains his balance, and then you are forced to focus on deflecting the bolts he bats towards you and you return the favor in turn. Long moments pass as blaster fire bounces madly between your two lightsabers, but then it's over, as the last bolt is deflected to the wall. Bandon is unharmed, but you've bought yourself both time and space, and with a thought the last Blast door slides open, leaving the way to the escape pods open.

Bandon, unsurprisingly, takes exception to that his voice filled with fury as he shouts "No, I will not allow you to escape. No more tricks, no more games, you die, here and now!" And then he leaps towards you, the Dark Side of the Force sending him hurtling at you at impossible speeds.

It is all you can do to roll out of the way and deflect his furious assault as he cuts you off escape route, planting himself firmly between you and the exit, leaving you nowhere to run.

Just as planned.

You smile. Bandon stops for a moment, taken aback by the seeming nonsequitar. "What are you grinning about, you fool?"

"You forgot one of Master Zhar's most basic lessons Bandon. This fight is over."

He barks a laugh at that. "You fool. I am Sith. I have no need of your pathetic Jedi lessons. I have studied at the foot of Darth Malak himself! You cannot hope to defeat me, you worm."

You don't reply, instead you reach out to the Force, and push with all the focus your training has given you, sending Bandon hurtling down the hallway, and into the escape pod you had opened only a moment ago. You can hear a distant cracking as Bandon crashes into the rear of the pod- whether his bones or plasteel, you have no idea.

"Always mind your surroundings."

And then the hatch seals, and Bandon is sent hurtling from the ship. You breath a long sigh of relief before the ship shakes again from another distant impact, reminding you of the other danger you still face. You start to turn to go collect Revan when a familiar face leans around the corner, blaster at the ready.

It's Commander Onasi, and he seems rather unhappy to see you. "Bastila, what are you still doing on the ship? You should have gotten off with the first pods. Never mind, you need to get off now. Get in the escape pod."

"There are still survivors Commander. I drew Bandon away from a group of three of them before he could kill them all only a few rooms back." Onasi looked like he was about to argue, but the matter was rendered moot when a voice called out from behind you. Revan's voice.

"Thanks for that by the way." You turned to see her walking forward, supporting a battered zabrak between herself and a Twi'lek, and a moment later, you and Carth are helping the trio into an escape pod. It's a tight fit, but there are enough crash harnesses to go around.

A few moments later the pod ejects, sending you hurtling towards Taris with Carth at the controls.

Where do you try to land?

Nice duel, I am a big fan of Knights of the old republic and as such I am excited to see how this quest will go.

UpperCity is filled with Sith and Racists. Lower City is filled with Gang Scum and Syndicate thugs. Under City is filled with horrible mutants, starving survivors, and much, much worse.

There re is no safer a ding zone.

It's been a while since I played, but here's what I remember (assuming canon is holding up so far with the exception of our character not being stranded / captured):

Upper City: - Pros: canon starting location, no gangs / plague mutants, Dueling tournament, shops, EDIT: canonically the location of T3-M4, spaceports under lockdown, Doctor with wounded Republic soldiers.
- Cons: under Sith control and therefore unfriendly towards non-humans (problematic for our two alien soldiers). Our presence may also cause trouble since the Sith are looking for us specifically (butterfly effect). Also, Sith base.

Lower City: - Pros: lesser Sith presence, no plague mutants, Bounty Hunting, canon introduction to Mission / Wookie Zaalbar / Canderous, EDIT: Swoop-racing!
- Cons: some instances of open gang warfare, EDIT: canon meeting of Calo Nord who may recognize us (butterfly effect) and cause trouble sooner rather than later.

Under City: - Pros: ??? (Sith and gangs all have bigger problems to worry about than you?), canonically the location for other crashed escape pods
- Cons: LOTS OF PLAGUE MONSTERS

Keep in mind that in canon, our character needed to be rescued which is why the group had to wander down into Lower and Under City in the first place.

Our of all the choices, I'd suggest avoiding the Under City as much as possible or at least until we can get decent equipment. In the game the plague mutants weren't a huge threat to the party due to gameplay mechanics, but in a quest like this we may not have the same buffs. I'd recommend the Lower City at first to get our bearings and (perhaps) make some friends, then deciding to go up or down depending on what needs to be done.

Not sure how practicable this is, but it appeals to me.

I'm ok with that. I mean, I was planning on rolling a d20 to determine the exact circumstances of the crash, but if you want to narrow it down to that, I don't have a problem with that. Though I'll probably still roll to determine whether or not there's a race going and what not.

We should try to use the force to crash into that one jerk who always beats your first time. That guy deserves a painful death.
>.>

Edit: Given our party I feel 100% sure if we end up with a gang we will accidentally conquer them by the end of the week. If, you know, Taris is still around by then.
