LFPB: The smell of the revolution

Okay, so let's just put down all the essentials.
And hope we don't end up running out of bioplastics so early.
I don't remember. It is possible to deconstruct things, right?

Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist> Blood is thicker than water, but each drop adds up to a deluge.
Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist> Today, we march forward into our future. A stronger people. A sublime people. A potent multitude, remade for the luminal age!
Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist> The time has come to claim this world as our own! And from it, shall ripple forth a tide of anger, a swelling wave of justice! The time has come to destroy the chains of Terra!

Imprint ID "Aishah Johnson" Engineer> Kane, what the heck are you doing?
Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist> Practicing my Ascension speech.
Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist>I believe we should have another table.
Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist> So I can stand high up on it as I deliver my litany to the unwashed and oppressed masses.
Imprint ID "Aishah Johnson" Engineer> Find a soapbox.
Imprint ID "Marcia Kane" Biologist> That is also lost technology.

Imprint ID "Trent Burton" Medic> Boy, I sure do love hauling crates.
Imprint ID "Trent Burton" Medic> Like some sort of non-specialist crewmember.

Imprint ID "Aishah Johnson" Engineer> Yeah, that's right.
Imprint ID "Aishah Johnson" Engineer> Keep the good work and you'll be among the first in line once I order a shower built.

Imprint ID "Trent Burton" Medic> Your threat of having us all be equally unwashed proletariat instead of water-wasting bourgeoise is too scary, ma'am.

Imprint ID "Slade K. Mccall" Biologist> Hey, I think I just found something...?!
Imprint ID "Trent Burton" Medic> Is it a monolith? Is it aliens? Please be aliens!

Imprint ID "Slade K. Mccall" Biologist> Nah, it's just an old rusted Bot buried in the sand.

Imprint ID "Slade K. Mccall" Biologist> Well it's extra metal anyway. I'll bring it back and see if we can recycle it when we have a Processing Plant.
Imprint ID "Slade K. Mccall" Biologist> Might be some useful resource scan data in its databanks.

<transmission:source unknown><in the name of Opportunity, who is eternal>
<transmission:source unknown><in the name of Voyager, who has breached the infinite>

That's okay. Nothing bad can possibly go wrong here. This old rusted bot is just a useful supply of metal, and the team biologist didn't just CARRY IN THE ANGRY GHOSTS.

Ahahahahaha.

You know how strange shit happens when I update this thread?

Actually when I made that first post after a long while, literally the afternoon after I posted that I suddenly noticed that the power was out. Power interruptions are normal, but taking off my headphones I realized I was hearing sirens.

There was a fire literally just four houses away in this wall-to-wall neighborhood.

And I thought: thirsty = lack of water = fire?

... eh. Probably just a coincidence. I took some pictures, but didn't post since this thread is a LP not my blog. Since making the second post, nothing strange happened. I was waiting for the shoe to drop but was ready to put aside this superstitious nonsense. What kind of weirdness could you possibly vaguely link to an open mine anyway?

Well how about volcanic eruption?

Now the whole province is in a state of calamity, all the schools are out. My little brother's enjoying the break.

A volcanic eruption shouldn't be funny, but I can't help but laugh.

Have you considered sacrificing a goat or something? Clearly, the spirits of beyond are angry that you were using their likeness in the let's play for humor and are now out to get you.

I hear the sandstorms can be quite fun.

I guess if a new desert springs up it will truly be a call beyond.

I was actually in the middle of typing the update for this LP when my older cousin (the son of my mother's sister) visited to tell us that another older cousin, the son of my mother's brother, died just last night.

And I thought: Yep. I ain't doing this.

That was just thirty minutes ago. This LP is hereby paused indefinitely. Don't expect it to be updated again anytime soon. I am for now too creeped out to try.

[edit]
Hmm. Maybe I could try doing something with The Movies LP instead?
Or something new. I did manage to get MW4:Mercs working in Win10 again.

Maybe there's an opposite karma game for this.

Oof. Sorry to hear that, mate.

Yeah, maybe A Penguin Drives Mechs or something might be less disaster-inducing.

Yup, angry god.
Hope the future will be better for you.

I really don't want to waste Pietro's funny faces*. :(

Half the fun of this LP is because Planetbase is such a relaxed game that no one expects a penguin to fuck up this much. At the same time, consequences for fucking up are rapid, so it actually helped to keep things fresh with new characters.

I'm looking for a game that will constantly introduce new characters. I could try MW4 on AI-cheatery difficulty, but often that will lead to me dying and restarting and lost mechs and pilots will only apply after a successful mission. Else will just reset time to the pre-mission save.

*I dunno, maybe I can do something with them in Twine?
Something like New

Hmmm....
Some suggestions but I don't know if you have 'em or not:
Surviving Mars
Kingdom and Castles
Spacebase DF-9
Rimworld (ahahaha, 'relaxed')
Game Dev Tycoon
Youtubers Life
Attack of the Earthlings
Rebuild 3
Startopia

Have you considered Craft The World? The early game gives you several new colonist Dwarves is rapid succession. It is also possible to both screw up and get Dwarves killed, unhappy, or stuck somewhere random. (The pathing is a bit glitchy.)

> Craft the World
I actually tried this before. Sorry to say that I found the need to gather requisite resources before being strong enough to advance more tedious than anything.

> Kingdoms and Castles
That... is actually a really good idea. I already know how Pietro is going to react to things happening in the game.

> The Movies LP
I'll see what I can do about that. Might have to restart since then I had to replace my motherboard and reinstall Windows.

Honestly, I keep thinking a KSP Let's Play would be interesting. Especially a Realism Overhaul/Real Solar System LP.

You really believe Pietro & Co live in our solar system, or any sane one?

Since I'm a space nerd I'd like to see Surviving Mars, but I'd rather you go with what kindles your muse and preferably doesn't invoke the chaos gods.

Kerbal Space Program.

... and Pietro wasn't even trying to kill his colonists. :(

Well I tried. New thread is up.

... curse is still in force, unfortunately. Will try The Movies, though since I lost the savegame for this can only go so far before running out of screencaps. Maybe it's just Pietro that is cursed and not his students?

Actually, in Realism Overhaul/Real Solar System, it's much harder to kill your Kerbals, in part because by the time you've unlocked manned capsules (and they've actually become practical for use) you've probably gotten the hang of recovering things from orbit and landing safely. Besides, you could handwave looking at forums and other peoples' videos on KSP as Pietro doing that because he's never played it before. Besides, who knows, it might dodge the Penguin Let's Play curse.
