There's definitely a lot to address here, assuming this is reality. Mean, using her power seemed to exhaust her, though you're not sure why. Is that because she's a human, the decay to her original self, or her power just being like that?
Course, knowing why presumably multiple magic artifacts were sealed away would be helpful. She seems far too sweet to have been a weapon of terrible destruction, though you... suppose her blade could of been bloodstained iron extracted from people.
Ultimately, only one question stands out as immediately important. "You keep going on about being a human now, what exactly happened?" Looking up from her food and blinking at you confused, you're starting to get an idea why she does that.
Still... watching her twiddle with her fingers embarrassed, she's a bit less excitable but that seems about it. "You shattered my original self, and I attached myself to the first thing I could. Thus, your soul caused me to become... become human."
Rubbing the back of your neck and mulling that over, it does kind of checkout following anime logic. Still, why attach to you and not literally anything else? Surely there were closer-
"Father, are you testing me?" Huh? Focusing on the silver-eyed girl, she seems sort-of thoughtful before continuing. "You keep acting oblivious, but you broke the seal for the Forsaken Vault and sought me out! You must be an extremely powerful mage, so you don't need to pretend anymore."
… Yeah, that was more or less what you were thinking was happening. Kneading your forehead as you think it over, you watch as she finally starts nibbling on one of the Hot Pockets. Okay, you really need a name for her, but truth first.
"I'm not a mage... 'daughter', I'm a normal guy. I just took that shovel and dug away at a pre-existing hole in the ground." That causes her to stop mid-nibbling, and look a rather different kind of confused than before. Like she's having a hard time even processing the possibility of what you said.
Finally, she speaks up as she continues nibbling at her food. "Everyone is though, and we were sealed there by powerful people. You couldn't just, shove sharp metal to break it."
… Is she really saying someone sealed away all the magic? Seriously, who deliberately un-anime'd reality? God, if you have to fight the 'Lord of Magic' to complete the light novel your life is becoming, you're gonna laugh at calling it.
Kneading your hands together and holding them just before your chest, it takes a few moments to rack your head for the relevant information regarding the tree. Seriously, is the lack of definitive records intentional?
"Well, from what I know, that tree above the... Forsaken Vault, was considered sacred to the original natives. It got attacked by conquering invaders, so I guess the damage to it must of weakened the seal or something?"
Looking at her, you're a little hopeful for some insight, but she just considers what you said before accepting it. "I suppose that makes sense, that tree is what powers the magic for the Vault."
Going back to nibbling at her food, it doesn't seem like she has anything else to say for the moment. Okay... so you know breaking a magic item causes the magic to latch onto a nearby person, and the interaction with your soul caused her to become a real girl.
Her knowledge seems erratic, but she was under the impression you're a mage, so you can assume an item's magic can't just latch onto any random thing. Regarding Amirose's Tree... wait, does that mean the local waterfall is another 'Vault'?
"Father, can I make a request?" Focusing back on the sword-girl and seeing she has finished her food already, she looks up at you calmly. Huh... casually flicking your hand, you answer equally simple "Sure, go ahead."
Watching her glance over at the shovel and then at the murdered pillow, she fixes back on you. "I would like to return to the Forsaken Vault, and reclaim my original vessel. I'm human now and forever, but... that was me for the longest time. May we please collect it?"
Mean... you've definitely watched enough anime and played enough games to guess collecting it would provide a power-up. Plus, there was a route you didn't check, and maybe she can unblock some of the other doorways?
Though... from what you understand, she and presumably others were deliberately locked away, outright forsaken. There might be some form of security system, yet surely that should of activated yesterday? Unless sword-girl's magic leaving set it off...
Looking back at the girl, you really need to know. "Before I say anything on the matter, are you sure you don't have a name? I can't keep calling you 'girl' and 'her' or 'she', so there must be something."
That causes her to brighten up, rather similar to when you said your name, though her cheer mellows out into thoughtful. Scratching at her silver hair, she eventually shrugs.
"I was a sword, swords don't need names. Though... maybe people called me Cutter? Or was it Shredder? I'm sorry, I don't really know, I was just a normal sword before."
Right, 'normal'... Well, option one would be like naming a cat Neko, whereas option two... let's not name the impressionable mystic newborn after a supervillain. Aunt Ventus would probably be laughing if you did though...
… Of course, your family. If you're adopting a magic child who may or may not qualify as your spiritual daughter, then you'll need to plan regarding them. Mean, you don't need to right now, but eventually...

I have got a weird feeling I am missing things...
Like was the waterfall mentioned before? Eric is referencing things that haven't Come up yet.
I get the feeling there is nothing I can do to stop tbis girl being named Sabrina. Might aswel go With the flow.

Nah, the waterfall was mentioned early in the intro and the whole "written lost language" part is why he briefly wondered if there's another Forsaken Vault there (answer is yes).
Regarding the Sabrina option, Eric's in-universe reasoning is that it loosely resembles Sabre. Thus, still giving her a thematic name.
Out of universe, was the first good name I came up with following the whole "vaguely invokes sword" approach.

Spotting, um, 'Cutter' looking at you... she seems quietly expectant. You're not entirely sure when that happened whilst you were thinking, though... she's probably having a weird time processing all this herself. You need a little longer regarding her name, so...
Leaning forwards a little in your chair, you're curious to know... "So, what exactly will you do with it?" For a moment you don't think she knows what you mean, but her expression soon turns thoughtful.
Twirling a strand of curly silver hair around her finger as she glances around, from the look on her face... you think she's trying to find insight. Hmm, honestly, you probably would put any severed body parts of yours on display.
Finally, she focuses back on you, her hands laid out on the table as she speaks rather... lost. "I, I don't know... I used to have a sheathe that restored me, so I always felt... complete before, you know father?"
… Rubbing your left arm, it isn't like you still hurt, so you can answer. "Somewhat, I guess. I felt pretty lost when my parents sent me to my uncle and aunt as a kid. You just, need to find something else to complete you."
Nodding her head gently like you just gave sage advice, you can't help sighing softly to the side. Though... huh, you know what to do now regarding her name. Here's hoping she likes it...
"Your name, how about... Sabrina Ventus? Sabre is too on-the-nose, and its only natural for a child to have their parent figure's last name." Once more, she seems truly excited, yet this time...
You could swear there was a flicker in her eyes, almost like... did you just give her a True Name? Okay, you definitely need an outside opinion, someone who can undeniably prove this is all real.
Huh, you know just the two... Getting up from your chair, before you say a word Sabrina copies your action- though her expression makes it clear she has no idea what you're actually planning.
Well, can't hurt to explain... "I need to grab my phone real quick, I'm about to call up my younger sisters. They're the only ones I think I can explain you to without it becoming complicated."
Watching her for a moment, she just smiles with that excited look on her face. You... don't think she knows they would be her aunts. Hoo boy, you'll need to sit her down some time to really figure out her knowledge base.
Still, much more important things to address... Walking over to your open bedroom door, you stop at the doorframe and glance back to see her right behind you. Uh... Pointing over at the couch, you quickly explain.
"I'm going to need you to do the pillow trick again, but only once I call my sisters. So wait on the couch, alright?" Blinking up at you, Sabrina stands there for a few moments before nodding her head in agreement.
Watching her briskly walk over to the couch, you slip into your bedroom and start poking around your nightstand. You better not have misplaced it again in your sleep, you still don't know why it ended up behind your bed that one time.
Letting out a little sigh of relief your phone is just on the ground next to it, as you turn it on you blink in confusion for a few moments. 11:37 AM already? You're normally awake by 9... is this because of Sabrina, um, forming from your soul? You really wish there was a how-to guide for this...
Ringing up Faith's phone for a Facetime call, you look over at Sabrina in the meantime. Huh, you're... not entirely sure what you expected. Does sitting on the armrest not hurt for her?
~"Yo, what's up!?"~ Glancing down at your phone, looking back at you is a smiling redhead waving casually. Behind her is an identical girl who proceeds to swat her for messing up the attempt to measure her.
~"Fuji, come on! Its big bro Eric! Unless he's been calling you in secret, I'm excited!"~ Green eyes glancing at you and widening, Fuji looks somewhat embarrassed now.
~"Ah, I'm sorry big brother, we've just been working on some stuff and a certain someone assumed we were a 1:1 match."~ That causes Faith to groan, and you have to cover your mouth to hide your amused smile.
~"Who ever heard of identical twins not being identical!? Kittan is clearly just messing with me!"~ Hearing a soft 'thud', you glance over at Sabrina to see her already grabbing a pillow to throw.
"Should I throw it into the air like before father?" Hearing a "Nani?" from Faith and a muttered "Baka..." from Fuji, you briefly rest your face against your free hand. Pointing the phone in Sabrina's direction, you call out to her at the same time.
"No, it'd be too difficult to track that way. Just... hold the pillow up and cut it like that. Stand sideways as well, I need them to see you're not pulling a trick." Sabrina nodding simply in agreement, Fuji is the first one who tries to speak up.
~"What did she mean by fa-"~ Then Sabrina does that, psychokinetic slash thing, and another pillow violently explodes into a cloud of stuffing. Coughing and shaking herself off, Sabrina seems exhausted again though... Faith doesn't seem to notice.
~"What was that!? Did, like, dad give you exploding pillows!? That's super weird! What would you even need such for!?"~ She's certainly excitable, if confused, about what just happened. Turning the phone back to you, Fuji clearly seems at a lost herself.
Rubbing your neck with your free hand, you point the phone back at Sabrina and try to explain. "Short story shorter? Apparently there are vaults full of magic items just sitting around, and breaking one if you're nearby causes a person to happen."
Sabrina waving at the phone like she doesn't find this weird, Faith kind of... gets stuck on repeat. ~"What? What. What!? What..."~ Fuji taking the phone from her with little resistance, you can see Faith sit down on her bed still having her little 'What' storm.
Fuji, though... her conflicting emotions are rather clear, yet she makes an admirable attempt to compose herself. ~"You, you're saying magic is actually real? Mean, dad wouldn't give you... 'exploding pillows' and getting them yourself seems uncharacteristic."~
Blinking yourself, it just clicked for you- Faith and Fuji clearly saw what happened. So then... holy crap this might actually be real! Holy crap, you have no idea what's going on then.
Hearing Fuji shout ~"Hey!"~, you snap back to reality as Faith snatches the phone from Fuji and basically shoves her face at you. ~"How-does-it-work-no-wait-where-do-I-go-I-want-magic-too!"~
Uh... glancing to your side to see Sabrina having approached you, she has a thoughtful expression again. Regarding Faith though... on the one hand, she's just gonna pester you until you start explaining.
On the other, you barely know anything and Sabrina barely more than you, so Faith would more likely get herself into trouble trying to become a real-life Magical Girl. That, or magic Batman you suppose...

15/16, I'm not entirely sure if they already had their birthday. Samson would be their and Eric's brother as well, whereas they have a couple cousins- though each of their uncle/aunt pairs only has one each.

While you're a little tempted to just explain what you do know, there's no way Faith wouldn't start poking around. There's way too many unknowns and you rather your sisters didn't get into trouble. So...
"I barely know anything myself, and Sabrina has only been a person for an hour at most. I really need to investigate first." Predictably, that causes Faith to whine out a disappointed ~"What? Oh come on!"~
Letting out a sigh as you rub your neck, Fuji still seems to be processing things. Hmm, Faith is better at handling weird stuff... course, if you're already crazy it is kind of hard to become crazier.
"The place I went to was sealed off, and the only reason I broke through was because the... magic battery powering it had been damaged for years. I haven't went back yet since Sabrina formed, but there could be now-active security measures or evil possessive items. Plus, you two don't have a magical superbeing tagging along in case there are threats."
Watching Faith go through a slideshow of wordless gestures and expressions, she finally slumps as she lets out a low whining groan. ~"Argh, why do you get to be an protagonist instead of me..."~
… Huh, you're the first person you know to have rediscovered magic, and you met a mysterious young girl from that time. That is, definitely common signs of a protagonist. Now all you need is some overarching plotline or underlying theme. Speaking of...
Glancing down at Sabrina, she still seems to be thinking about whatever it is. Might as well ask... "Is there something you want to say? Since you're my, daughter, that makes you family to them."
Hearing Faith mutter an ~"Oh right..."~, you nonetheless focus on Sabrina. The young anthropomorphic girl 'hmming' in thought, she finally looks at the phone and smiles cheerfully.
"I'm Sabrina Ventus, nice to meet you my sisters!" From the way Faith is giggling, you sigh as you massage your forehead. Yeah, yeah she definitely doesn't understand what an aunt is.
~"Yep, that is exactly what we are, isn't that right papa Eric?"~ Thankfully Fuji takes the phone from Faith, and holds off your mutual trolling sister as she flails at the phone.
~"Don't listen to her Sabrina, Eric is our older brother and we have the same parents. So Faith and I would be your aunts."~ Glancing at Sabrina to see her looking thoughtful again, she asks simply inquisitive.
"What's an aunt?" That gets both you and Fuji thinking, trying to explain it in a way that makes sense to her. Naturally, Faith has to blurt out her own answer. ~"Its like a half mom, since we share biological makeup with you!"~
Sabrina having this look of realization cross her face, she nods in understanding as she responds with a simple "Makes sense." Sighing, you're not surprised as Fuji swats Faith and Faith of course makes an exaggerated ~"Ow!"~
Still, you're pretty sure this is Faith trying to force you to answer. No, she can stew in her new found angst and be patient. "Okay, I have to go now, so I'll call you two later. Sabrina, you should say 'bye' to them."
Looking at you with light confusion, Sabrina nonetheless waves and says "Bye?" to your sisters. Fuji in turn waves and says a ~"Bye"~ hinting at her feelings still being conflicted. Faith, naturally, is all ~"Wait no-"~
Hanging up on her mid-sentence, you turn off your phone and pocket it. Now that you definitively know for a fact you're not in a dream, and because you'd like to use your phone again, you've come to an decision regarding the vessel.
"Alright, we'll go to Amirose's Tree to retrieve your broken vessel. It does seem important to you, so if... so since I'm going to be your dad, getting it is just my responsibility."
Clinging to you in a hug, you're rather startled by the sudden physical contact. Though since your arms are semi-raised... Sniffing yourself, you smell decently enough. Knowing how erratically weird her knowledge base is, you reckon Sabrina wouldn't understand smell. Besides, you'd rather not leave her unsupervised for half an hour.
Trying to move only for Sabrina to keep hugging you, you sigh a little. "Uh, Sabrina, you have to let go now if we're going to head out." Breaking off her hug and looking embarrassed, she lets out a little "I'm sorry..."
Glancing over at your oven's clock, it reads 11:49 AM. Hmm, from the top of your head, getting to the tree and poking around in the vault... You should be done around 4ish, assuming nothing comes up.
So, walking over to the front door and grabbing your shovel, you call out "Alright, stay close and follow me. I don't really know any of these people outside, so... just ignore them."
Nodding her head in agreement and following after you, you take a deep breath. Shovel might not do much, but inevitably you were heading back to that vault. Only thing you really could do is train up Sabrina, but... letting out a breath, you both leave.
----
Glancing at your phone, it says 12:02 PM. Turning it off again, you grab Sabrina by the shoulder as she tries heading into the vault before you. "Wow now, Sabrina, you can't just rush off by yourself. We don't know what's down there, we need to stick together."
Rubbing her hands together anxiously, Sabrina glances between you and the vault as she replies. "I, I just... my sheathe has to be down there too, right father? I've been thinking, maybe we could make her my sister?"
… Huh, you hadn't really considered it before, but... you could try finding some more intact items down there. So many rooms to check though, and eventually someone else will poke around down there.
Still, first things first... "Let's collect your vessel first, and then we'll look around alright? Now, be slow as you walk down, you'll slip and fall if you go too fast." Nodding in simple agreement, the two of you begin walking down.
Though as her balance looks unsteady, you grab her hand and have her walk close to you. Finally, as you both reach the bottom, the first thing that stands out is all the light.
Specifically, where before it looked simple, there's now all these intricate green patterns running all over the place. If you had to guess, they must be runes or visible signs of the magic suffusing the place.
The next thing you notice, are the strange incomprehensible symbols above each of the doorways. Probably reveals what is meant to be back there, or some category system.
Other than those changes, nothing seems... murdery, so far so good. Yet, as you look at Sabrina, you flinch- she looks visibly distressed, looking between the collapsed doorways and finally shivering.
"They, they're all... they're all dead." Your eyes widening, she shakes her head somewhat violently before looking up at you. "Um, no, I didn't... all the ones near us, I think they're broken. I-I'm not sure about the rest..."
Though she seems visibly calmer than just a moment ago, she looks somewhat anxious. Probably worried her sheathe is already broken... huh, what are the odds it isn't even here? Might have to check some of these rooms, if what she's sensing is their absence rather than any identifying presence.
Of course, all the glowing symbols and lines, something definitely activated because of Sabrina having left... that or someone came here. Okay, you'll definitely need to do research later... Right now though, you need to decide on a course of action.
-- What do you do? (multiple actions allowed if not mutually exclusive)
[] Try clearing one of the collapsed doorways, what's inside should still be informative.
[] Head to where Sabrina's broken vessel should be.
[] Check the second route, maybe there's an unblocked room as well.
[] Tell Sabrina to be cautious, the vault wasn't like this before.
...neat.
Les hope we can find sheath chan, don't want to make Sabrina sad.
[X] Check the second route, maybe there's an unblocked room as well.
[X] Tell Sabrina to be cautious, the vault wasn't like this before.
A/N: I'm mainly updating now because I want to keep the ball rolling, and I'll probably update at least once a day. The updates definitely come together easily enough.
----
While you are interested in checking out one of these collapsed doorway rooms, to see if the rooms are unique or follow a set pattern, of seeing if the items in there are destroyed or just missing...
The lightshow around here has you too concerned, and frankly you'd rather make a beeline for Sabrina's broken vessel & come back either when she's stronger or you're more informed.
Yet, there's so few opportunities for either, and if life is really like an anime or rpg… then naturally the dungeon area is where you're going to get stronger and advance the plot.
So, since she brought it up... you might as well look for a second item. You have no idea if Sabrina's vessel would actually do anything, but a second, um... artifact daughter would definitely be helpful once you start poking around for other Forsaken Vaults.
Walking in front of Sabrina a little and turning to face her, she looks up at you inquisitively. You're not sure she knows, so you better warn her. "Okay, Sabrina, when I came here before there weren't all these... lights everywhere. So we need to be cautious as we look for your, um, sister."
Watching her as she examines the lights, you wonder for a moment if she's discerning something. Should probably ask how she sensed the absence of the other items later on...
"They really weren't there before? Hmm, it is strange nobody stopped you... Alright father, I'll be cautious." Gesturing for her to stay close, you move quickly and cautiously as you keep an eye out.
Moving down the vault, you notice some of the doorways lack the mysterious symbols that the others do. If that's because there's nothing in there or damage to the, uh, system... you really can't tell.
Then there's the roots, which seem like they're faintly glowing in a pulsing kind of way. Huh, if the tree is the source of magic powering this place, then damaging the roots might disrupt the flow of magic.
Of course, you also glance over at Sabrina from time to time. From her expression, she definitely seems bothered by all the broken items... oh, surely she hasn't...? Mean, it would make sense, being unnerved by how easily she could of been like these others.
Finally, as you reach the route split once more, you notice more of those incomprehensible symbols. Wait... you're starting to think they're suppose to be a language. Huh, that waterfall really is seeming more and more likely to be hiding a second vault...
Looking at Sabrina, you decide to try. "So, do you know what it says?" You're not overly surprised when she shrugs her shoulders, her tone innocently casual. "It makes a little sense, but I can't read any of it."
Hmm, there must be some way to decipher it... maybe she and a second one can pool their knowledge together? Might be more complicated then that... no way you could just find a magic rock or book to instantly learn.
Wordlessly gesturing for Sabrina to follow you, the both of you head down the left route. Looking around, you spot significantly more symbol-less doorways. In fact, many of these doorways aren't collapsed... yet of course, the few with symbols are.
The runic lights aren't as bright or numerous over here... maybe, they never got around to filling out this side? Glancing at Sabrina, she seems a lot more confused than bothered in this area.
Finally, as you reach the route's end, you locate an unblocked doorway with a glowing symbol. Peering through the open doorway, the room inside practically seems covered in green lights.
Shimmying through, as you slide into the room you're quickly come across another stand with oddly simplistic latches. Though unlike before, this one holds a shield, of predominantly white coloration and blue & gold accents.
Hmm... sure, the runic lights seem to extend to the stand, but... they definitely should of put in more effort if they were sealing away all these magic artifacts. What are you missing here...?
Glancing back to Sabrina as you hear her breathing raggedly, she's nervously rubbing at her arms as she looks around the room with visible discomfort. "Sabrina, is something happening?"
Her gaze focusing on you after asking in concern and cautious, she turns her attention to the shield- shooting a sympathetic look at the artifact. "I, I-I don't like this room... it, it feels so wrong, yet so familiar... we, we can't leave her in here father."
Well, definitely doesn't seem like her sheathe, and the runic lights being on the stand is certainly worrisome... yet, this is the only other artifact you know is here, and leaving the room might trigger something.

[] Might as well pull the shield free.
[] Hold off for now and retrieve Sabrina's broken vessel.
[] Start actively poking around for Sabrina's sheathe.
[X] Hold off for now and retrieve Sabrina's broken vessel.
-[X] You suspect it might destabilize the ruins further if you disturb the other items, so you'll get Sabrina's first before anything else. Then her sheathe, before the shield.
