Oh, I think I get it. Since Marluxia has a Keyblader in his corner already he won't risk messing with Sora meaning he'll just wander aimlessly with no real danger and have no reason for his heart to call out to Riku in Castle Oblivion.

They'll probably have to deal with Xehanort's Heartless anyway. Preventing the Organization's (or at least Marluxia's) CO plan(s) will probably just make things easier for them.

Huh, I forgot about Riku, ah well at least Aqua will finally have neighbors, even if she probably isn't the best person to handle Riku's horrible guilt issues from taking some DARKNESS, and hey, if he ever ends up taking another pop then he could portal himself and the other two out of the RoD, and probably trigger the hell out of Aqua if he ends up looking like Ansem while doing it too

Exactly, and since Sora's goal is still to get Riku back to the Island, well... Vanitas says hi.

Meanwhile, Kairi's frantically trying to get off-world to bring her boys home.
 
Ah too late for the vote, but this is interesting, I'd have voted Demyx because he's my favorite of the nobodies since he's actually kinda a fun guy, (as much as a nobody can be) but Marluxia was my second choice for the Canon-Torpedo-ing potential, so I'm fine with it. Always nice to see more KH quests, even if I haven't really played the games (almost beat dream drop but I lost the cartridge) I still have learned most of the lore (mostly because my best friend irl really likes KH) and that's enough for good questing.
 
Kinda weird Vanitas is with Sora, when his and Ven's heart should be with Roxas, but no matter, he'll need to drive a strong bargain to get Sora to waver, since that kid is really quite sensible when it comes to why Darkness is bad, as seen by him calling Riku an idiot

Also I wonder what kind of face Xion will develop, hopefully Marluxia refrains from telling her of the wielders of old's obsession with afros, and bear heads

You kidding? he's lost, badly. Just because the Island Trio are too busy chasing eachothers tails to care, doesn't mean other heroes won't step up to the plate. you already have three, maybe four.

It's a twisted kind of irony that Castle Oblivion would have been better for Sora's mental health since it ends with Namine scrubbing all the mental instability away.

Sora's not exactly rational when his friends are in trouble. Remember how Roxas came to be in the first place? And in II he flat out begged Maleficent to take him into the Realm of Darkness when he thought Riku was trapped there.

I mean, Vanitas can spin it that he just needs to learn how to open a Corridor of Darkness and that's it. He doesn't have to go any deeper than that.
