"I assure you sir, these young men aren't going to be sacrificed as cannon fodder when we recruit them." Ohrmuzd explained as he attempted to calm the governor of the planet Scoria. A rather developed world, having been peacefully inducted into the Imperium through the Fifteenth Legion's efforts. But right now, the current ruler of the planet was rightfully worried that the young men the Legion were recruiting would end up as simple meat shields for the Astartes. "You have my word." He swore to the governor.
"I still have misgivings about this, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt." The ruler stated fretfully.
"Thank you sir, I will ensure I keep your trust." The young Astartes promised. And with that Ohrmuzd followed the line of young men currently marching into the Stormbird, waiting to be taken to the Legion fleet. While it wasn't enough to fully replenish your count of aspirants, it was still enough to stabilize your rapidly dwindling amount.
"Phew, that was much harder than dealing with the Mechanicum agents." He mused to himself. That particular meeting had been rather short, simply showing the containers full of xenos technology had sent the entire Machine Cult delegation into a frantic jumble of Binary and wildly shaking mechanadendrites. Eventually ending with an agreement to send the aid of the Cybernetica, and a bonus of priority raising when it came to resupply.
As he helped others prepare for takeoff and strapped in himself, he wondered how the Legion Master was doing.
Due to focused Diplomatic Efforts, Ohrmuzd will upgrade his Diplomatic skill after three more actions of the same type. Mechanicus Favor has risen to Liked, and you now receive priority attention involving resupply and repair. A token force of Legion Cybernetica warbots will be sent, improve relations further for more.
Planets recruited from begin having misgivings about their young men being taken away. These have been calmed by Ohrmuzd, but the planets taken from will still be unable to be utilized again for at least two turns without deleterious consequences. Current status of Aspirant Supply has been prevented from deteriorating.
As you watch the currently setting sun of the planet Orior IV, the sounds of power armored footsteps reach your ears. Their owner stopping a few feet behind you before speaking. "My Lord, it is like you said. They are dug in like a tick inside the mountain, and refuse all entreaties for their surrender." You sigh before speaking. "Then we go to our second plan, blow the charges."
The Legionnaire clanks as he slams his fist across his chest in salute of you, before immediately running off to send the word through vox.
You turn just in time to hear the *BRAKADAK!* of the strategic melta charges placed across the entirety of the mountain arcology the last resistance on this planet had hid in. Something that most likely taken centuries of painstaking effort to complete was reduced to nothing more than rubble in a matter of seconds with a bit of strategic planning and the flick of a button.
The mountain itself has begun imploding, its top falling into itself as the rest of it follows suit. Starting from the top the entire mountain falls inward, assuredly crushing the entire megastructure inside.
As this happens you begin declaring orders over vox to begin packing up to move out to the next target system. With that done you calmly walk down the worn path leading from the top of the hill you had been admiring the sunset from. By now, night has fallen. And your operation zone is now filled with light from electric lamps, ship exhausts, and the inferno that once was a mighty mountain now reduced to a caldera of molten rock and broken dreams.
Hmph, you bet Aventus is up to his old market crash tricks again.
Fifteen systems with all their planets inhabited have been brought into the fold, while beforehand they were considering advancing outside of their systems they are now too devastated to reach that without aid. 15 Multiple Planet Inhabited Systems Gained.
As Aventus causes another planets market to crash, before immediately swooping in and purchasing everything that will allow him to assume complete control of their government. The Astartes ponder whether or not this is the right combination of speed and effectiveness needed for the Crusade to remain stable. While it definitely kept the infrastructure intact to a point,it also bred a certain level of corruption into the system as countless would-be-swindlers took advantage of the boom and ensuing chaos to improve their stations in life. Con-men rising to become politicians, warlords, and rulers, before immediately ceding him control to retain their power after his aid in getting them there.
It was incredibly distasteful, yet why was it beginning to seem like the most effective option? This thought continually echoing in his head as he continued mentally constructing a new economic trap for his next victim, the last inhabited planet in the system. Triarii III.
They had apparently opened up a rather deep well of pre-promethium based fuel and the ensuing the rush had resulted in quite a few countries being rendered penniless. Being reduced to auctioning off parts of their territory to break even.
As he began planning even more intricately how to ruin the planet's economy he sets these thoughts to the side. For now, at least.
10 Systems with multiple planets have been economically crushed and absorbed by the Imperiums thanks to Aventus' work. 5 more systems with only a single planet inhabited were picked up as an afterthought in the ensuing sector wide collapse of economic stability.
Aventus requires 47 more successful Logistical actions to raise his statistic. He also has begun attempting to find more efficient ways of ensuring compliance.
Author's Note* Alright, here' the update. I'll be placing the next planning in the next couple of days after I have finished my final project, exam, and gone through my orientation for University.
