‘Invincible’: Second Half of Season 2 Sets Premiere Date at Prime Video

"Invincible" Season 2 Part 2 has set its premiere date at Amazon's Prime Video
... The second half of "Invincible's" second season will fly its way into Amazon's Prime Video on March 14 – the 21st anniversary of the inception of the comic book that inspired it.

Prime Video plans to premiere the second half of its eight-episode second season in March – with four new weekly episodes.

Is there a reason why they don't just call the parts with long delays in between separate seasons? I mean, of course things take time to produce, but why label it like this?

I assume because season 2 was drafted as a single story, but they couldn't make the entire batch within the initial airing period.

Season two has the second half begin airing today, and I watched episode four during lunch.
I wasn't expecting most of the Guardians to get killed again, truth be told, and quite brutally too. The sizeshifter failing the "burst out of someone after enlarging from mini" trick caught me off guard, as did Dupli Kate being, uh, brutally killed in her very last duplicate. Seems all that the lizard men needed to achieve victory was a decent leader?

We've also got a sideplot of incoming martian invasion while this is going on, where Mark and a few others try to fight a bunch of mind controller aliens. It doesn't end well.

And Allen survived! Unexpected, that, both in that he got stronger after the Viltrumite clash ala DBZ Saiyans and that the old leader dude was a Viltrumite as well. A traitor, that is, who fled the empire and tries to resist it.

Looking forward to seeing where we go from here.

Geez, the Comic Con joke is PERFECTLY adapted.
The animators definitely had fun during that scene, yeah.

Poor Mark is just having his entire life fall apart after he got powers, huh? It's impossible for him to hero and hold a steady job at the same time, let alone keep up with schooling or maintain relationships with peers. He should probably get income from Cecil like he pondered this episode, if heroing is his effective job.

And date within the hero peer group. He tried, but romance seems very difficult when one partner is constantly dashing off to fight, sometimes for months at a time. Any relationship would run into issues there.

So I anticipate a prison break for episode eight, after that end credits scene.

Just finished S2.

I dunno why, but S2 part 2 didn't feel up to the same standard of quality as what came before.

The whole thing with Angstrom Levy was a bit of a wash. His entire plan is to be a home invasion villain - just walk into Mark's home and start brutalizing him and the people he cares about. As plans go, it does have the virtue of simplicity...but that raises the question of why he had to wait so long to do it.

He was setting up all the worlds he wanted to use on Invincible

I'm looking forward to the next season. Should be fun seeing how they defend Earth from the invading Viltrumites.

EDIT 7/2/25:
First three episodes are out, and shaking up the status quo from last season.
Cecil and Mark are no longer work partners, the matter transmutation girl is now dating Mark, and the little ant alien brother killed the big blue inventor villains.

A real shame, that. I like them as recurring antagonists.
