Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 5: Eye Eyes Eyes Eyeing Eye Eyeing Eyes

Coil's power works in real time. It isn't so much predicting the future as much as it is choosing option A or B. So no he didn't know ahead of time that the Endbringer attacked.
His power let's him see the future in this quest due to essence fuckery. We can't be predicted, but everything else can.

Thanks Grom, that wasn't foreboding AT ALL. /sarcasm

Did he? I thought he knew it was an improvement, but we were still a disruption to his improved power so he wanted to kill us so he could use his improved power flawlessly.

And then an Endbringer attacked us. I wonder if he saw it coming.

Last I recall Coil could predict Zion and the Endbringers in canon, so I don't think his shard has the blocks other precog shards do. I think the entites would need to do the alterations themselves to put a block in a currently functioning shard and neither Eden or Zion are in good condition to do that.

Either that or Coil's power goes "well, better fill in what actually happened and maybe re-run those calculations" whenever he uses his canon power and runs into those specific blindspots. Remember the only thing that changes between the realities is what he changes, and I doubt he was ever in a position where the actions of the Endbringers or Scion would vary between his realities.

Remember too that Eden's precog-simulation-thing couldn't foresee what exact form Eden or Zion would choose.

His power did NOT improved. It just get reset whenever Taylor uses some of her abilities that fuck with precogs so he gets all memories until he stops his power or dies in moment of Taylor using powers and not when it actually happen. He identified reason for that in Taylor.

... And decided that his old power in BB is better than using his new better powers to take over something else or even BB.

That's ... how it started, yes, then he learned to do it intentionally. That's what I'm referring to with the "improvement": intentionally being able to cancel his simulations and effectively turning it into month-long perfect memory + precog. See:

It had taken eight further power disruptions (five of them self-induced for the sake of testing his power), as well as hundreds of attempts to replicate the feat on his own before he could reliably opt to forego either timeline, instead absorbing all the information from however long both timelines ran while still standing in 'the past'.

Twenty-seven activations of his power later - only a few minutes in real-time - he finally settled on a future.

Which means we're due for something along the lines of a botch or two.
Can't botch if you spend WP to buy a success. Should be rather simple to stay WP-neutral since the requirements for getting WP are actually quite simple. That's one of the major advantages of the quest format - it is much easier to get two-die stunts in written format if the writer is at all competent.

...Now I'm worried for Missy because she's bound to feel obligated to use her speed upgrade to continue hauling ass across the city.

If it is any consolation for you two: Kid Win probably has the highest chance for survival of any ward since his parents don't allow him to participate in Endbringer fights. He can still die, but unlike the others he won't approach Behemoth on purpose...
He fought against Leviathan. He did not fight against the Nine.

Was Piggot even on-base? It was the 10:30pm wasn't it, Piggot normally leaves at 7:30-ish I think. Besides, we can identify parahumans at a glance and so can Chevalier: running in to Calvert is a good thing in that respect.
