Will athletics running help us at all with running away? If not, what will? Spindker, now isn't the time to buy occult, we want war.
Athletics will help against rolls for losing our balance and such, but won't actually make us faster. Any balance roll would be Dexterity+Athletics, so we're already pretty good there. Beyond that only our equipment will help.

Is it because we chose scenic? Would we have enjoyed better agency with one of the other options?
No, this was regardless of your choices. This battle could easily take multiple arcs without defined limits, so I'm trying my hand at keeping it contained in this manner. As always, this story is me experimenting with new writing tricks, but I feel this has a solid chance of working out for the best; it allows me to plant seeds for what people expect to see out of the entire fight, but the hints dropped here are vague enough that there is room for twists and turns in the fight itself.

As for how I'm handing the fight, doing very specific, granular votes would just make it take freaking forever... and not in a good way! Also, it'll be a way for me to show how your actions up to this point have shaped Taylor/Enduring Order Administrator, so that we can move forward from this point with a better view of how things can progress.

For those interested, this is indeed the easiest Endbringer attack of the three.

Taylor doesn't know Behemoth is after her in particular...so it's in character for her to save people.
As I mentioned in my vote post, Taylor has already theorized that the endbringers will target her, but didn't mention this to anyone for fear of appearing to be a egotist and possibly calling down their attention if they weren't going to target her already.

[X] Try to save as many people as you can.

[X] War (4xp)
[X] Reputation (Ward) (9xp)
[X] Lore (Parahumans) (2xp)
[X] Awareness (4xp)

We'd need another point of experience to get all that, but... well. All of it is useful.

"We had to destroy the village Brockton Bay in order to save it." should not be considered the go-to solution.
Whaddya mean? as long as behemoth has its back to the sea Iris can Wave motion gun its ass without fear of collateral damage/

It's still just a theory, though...she's not going to run away outright.

She could gear up and fly down, trying to lure Behemoth away from the base and out toward the ocean, though. That makes sense.
I'm just gonna dump this here, she was freaking out over this. And I'd like to remind you guys Taylor is a very smart girl who will take into account the fact that behemoth right under the base she has been confined to for the last few days. And that the endbringers BROKE SCHEDULE. That's huge. If she has any intelligence at all she will run away hoping to lure behemoth away from the civilians. Also, not seeing much she can do to save people from behemoth?
As your other mental threads pilot your body through the Wards kitchen, idly swiping a brass frying pan for use in your next activity, you pursue that train of thought further: would your Diagnostic Overlay detect Simurgh victims? That would be… big. The scan only takes seconds, and if it truly worked then the entireneed for Simurgh Quarantine Zones would disappear. Heroes would be able to fight fully against her insteadof in small bursts, no longer needing to worry about over-exposure to her Scream. It could…

All six trains of thought grind to a halt.

In your readings of possible Endbringer motives and targets during their attacks, any time a cape appeared to have a way to change the way Endbringers were handled, they were almost always the target of the next Endbringer attack. Except the Endbringer that targeted them was the one they were weakest against, and the Endbringer would only retreat if the target died (at which point they immediately left) or Scion – the first, and greatest parahuman – happened to show up to the fight and beat the creature back. Except, if Scion showed up, it only meant a short reprieve; while they'd so far shown an unwillingness to attack the same city back-to-back, Moscow was proof that Endbringers would track a target to a city they've hit more than three months prior.

The Simurgh especially was known for targeting those who disrupted Thinkers, as well as those who represented the potential for global change. If your Diagnostic Overlay actually works to counter her effects, then that adds 'game-changer' to the list of reasons for her to target you.

Armsmaster and Dragon's Endbringer Prediction System points to the Simurgh as the next Endbringer, even if the target is still being calculated. The expected battle date is sometime mid-Februrary.

This... could be bad. Very, very bad.

Your desire to communicate with Autochthon just turned into a need.

Feeling more than a little panicked over your revelation that you may be dooming wherever you live just by dint of existing, you close the door to your room – your actual Ward room, not your Protectorate Guest Suite – and activate your Omnitool Implant charm. Plopping down at the round, four-chair table in the center of the room, you shove those visions of impending doom away and turn all six threads of your mind towards the frying pan in front of you; the clock is ticking.

I don't think the Eye of Autochthon is ever as simple and straightforward as that. Either that or it has a mean streak in its sense of humor.

Can some one PLEASE explain why we are spending 9xp on THIS?

Reputation(Ward)
its essentially to give us enough rep that Dragon and other heroes will let us help with/take over CNC/CIC duties since with our War Score we're one of the Greatest Tacticians on the Planet.

Well, I for one don't think this update removed our agency. I think that's a very silly complaint, really.

--------------------------

Hey Gromweld, can you elaborate on the actions?

For instance, is "Grab your gear and run" meaning that we... flat-out try to run away and avoid the Endbringer battle? Just run away and that's it? Because if so, I don't like it, at all.

And another thing: what does "our gear" refer to? Is it just our armor? And do we have a weapon to use?

[X] Grab your gear and try to save as many people as you can.

Iris only effs things up when people treat him like a tool instead of a person, given he cares for thanks to his intimacy and he needs us to fulfill his directives to help Authocthon, weeeeell........

Well, sure, but the problem is that he might not have something big enough to matter but concentrated enough to not splash over. It's like asking Orabilis to fight someone and being surprised when the entire city starts raining molten glass.

Regardless, this is all empty speculation on my part to no real purpose, so let's save it for the actual decision if it comes up.
