Well if it's Zhang, "Life is harsh and unfair, so thats why you break the power curve and be unfair right back to Life"

Guy's a farmer, these people work long hours under harsh conditions hoping that the fruit of their labor doesn't get stolen or destroyed by any one of a hundred things not under their control (war, bandits, pests, etc.).
Does Zhang actually fit any of those points under 'farmer'?

Look, it's just...
If life is unfair to Zhang, what chance do the rest of us mere mortals have?
You can't honestly say that this learning curve is all hard work, no natural genius.

"It is unfair that I got you instead of a flesh and blood daughter. You were abandoned because nobody cares about you. Life is unfair" what a wonderful message. Not to mention, I think that zhange would have an easier time screwing this one up
yeaahh... NO

[X] Life is harsh and unfair, but we must all do our best to keep going and just carry on.

Zhang: Life is harsh and unfair, but we have to persevere, daughter.
Dragon: *pauses*
Dragon: Wow, Father. Where did that come from?
Zhang: *shrugs*
Zhang: No idea. The words suddenly appeared in my head as usual.
Dragon: *carefully inches back*
Zhang: Hmm? What's the matter?

There are many things that you wish to tell her, but you know better than to inflict such tragedies upon a child, your child even more so. There is no need to tell her of your forefather's short lives, because of the stresses placed upon them for the land you live upon. There is no need to crush her sorrows with the insurmountable ones your forefather's had to face, shaming her for her pettiness.

She is your beloved daughter, and you wish for her to never have to worry beyond that of harming what she loves…. But that would be spoiling her. Your father had not allowed you to laze about despite his knowledge that even without your help that he could have achieved his goals. Your father had worked you in a manner that made you fit and able, so that you may carry yourself with pride even should things turn for the worse.

You know that you can give onto her everything she wishes, and that you never wish to see her tears or sorrow. However, you also do not wish for her to take every pleasure in life for granted, to get what she wishes for to be the norm.

So you tell her of your childhood. Of the enmity that has been towards you since the beginning of your life, the work you've done by your father's side. The father who you saw wither away like your grandfather, a smile upon their faces as you tilled the land and their bodies ached beyond that is acceptable for a normal human man. The inescapable dread that followed as you lowered your father lowered his into the ground, and seemed to look more and more like the corpse by the month, then by the week, and then by the day.

Your daughter's tears have stopped, but her hold upon you tightens beyond that of human ability. Her touch is painful, but you endure it and continue as you know you must to not bring shame upon your delightful, powerful daughter.

You tell her that even despite all the sorrow in your heart, you went onward and tempered your will in the strife that was upon you day by day. As you could make no friends, you befriended the crows and the other animals. Because of your father's failing health, you lived everyday by his side and making sure that you never missed a moment with him. You emphasize that instead of allowing your sorrow to control you, that you made it so that you became stronger for it. That you gained the ability to love anything dearly and to savor every moment of happiness.

No words come from your daughter, but you feel her grip lessen from your waist. When you look upon her, her tears have dried and her hair is the same color as your own. Her hands are slight and petite, lacking the scales though sporting blood at the ends of her fingers that had been claws but moments ago.

Slowly the tapestries float towards the ceiling, attaching to their old placements with gentle precision. Your daughter turns and lays her head upon your lap to gaze upon the slowly waving silken fabrics, her hand reaching towards the roof.

"Every moment… precious." The words are raspy and whispered, but you agree wholeheartedly to them nonetheless. There is a deepness to her eyes that had not been there before, something that you had found disturbing only when you noticed that it was suddenly present.

In her eyes is the seed of wisdom, the slightest of growths, but wisdom nonetheless.

The very thing you know is needed for a being such as your daughter, given the might and power that is her birthright by blood.

You feel an insurmountable happiness knowing that you have truly given her something for the very first time that will stay with her forever.

Even should your promise be broken, you will be with your daughter until the end of time.
