Advance Wars: We don't talk about Battalion Wars

Kid Icarus went 21 years between titles; there's always hope.
There is always hope. :)

Like hope for another Ring of Red game (or at least a Remastered version), or Front Mission coming back, or Panzer Elite: Special Edition getting a remastering.

There is simply so much to hope for...

I just found out today that after some 15 year Langrisser is getting a new game (release date July 23 2015) so I suppose that there is still hope that AW to shall get a new game.

Apparently, Days of Ruin was (finally) released in Japan as a download in late 2013, kind of bizarre that they waited that long, but hey, at least it's still on Intelligent Systems minds, makes me hopeful we might see something sooner than we all thought.

Aren't you essentially describing the pipeline things with their turrets? They served a logistical purpose in the fluff and could take 'pipe runner' units from bases.

Not really, the pipelines main function after all was to serve as a barricade (love that picture BTW), whereas troops and vehicles would be able to walk right over railroad tiles. Like I said my idea was just a quick idea for an update of the old Super Famicom Wars concept, expanding it with multiple units with various roles all inspired by real life military railway vehicles like armored trains and the Draisine. In fact I had actually planned to write up a variant like the Polish Draisine that could go off rails, trading off the large movement bonus the railway gives in the process, but thought that might be over-complicating things.
