Not killing anyone would be a major copout at this point. I was toying with it but I'd have to tie myself into knots and it'd never be plausible.

Kongo will just have to deal with the consequences.

It won't be Maya or her two DD hangers on and it won't be Kongou... other than that, I will be considering.
 
I would recommend a human crewed ship. By now I would expect that Kanmusu would be made aware of Kongo-A's presence enough to at least have been issued orders that "if you see something that looks like a WW2 Battleship cruising toward you, turn tail and RUN!" It would take considerably more time to process this information to Chinese, Russian, or American commands and worse, getting them to heed the warnings... MUCH harder.

I hadn't thought of that aspect.

Hehehehe. I would imagine the PLAN would not be underconfident.

The aftermath of that would be interesting too, possibly blaming Japan for the actions of this replica battleship and demanding the tech be shared etc etc. Lots of lovely confusion.

Errr... Taking into accound Kongou-A range for target acquisition and "removal", if you see Kongou, you're either majorly fucked or not her target.
 
I know why people in story refer to her as Kongou-A... but why are we? There's a distinct difference in the two's names. Kongou (DESS!!!!) and Kongo (I am a flagship of the Fleet of Fog.)
 
There's the possibility that Kongo could ask the Nakoff (Naka knockoff) for a targeting data feed, and not getting it might strain the illusion...

PLAN destroyers would not be able to turn back to China while escorting a convoy to Japan, would they? And who knows what else they may be doing in Japanese waters, like SIGINT.

Well, there small buffer zone in with you can feel fear of being fucked in you intimidate future, but it not happening yet: Photon cannons are direct energy weapon, and so limited by curvature of the Earth. So if K-Purple does not want to spare missile for you, than she needs to get close to shoot you. At 80kn it will not take much time, but you have time jump ship.


@Mr Pumplechook - do we still get incredible adventures of former-wheel-chair-in-Yokosuka? :)

Kongo's missiles are made of Nanomachines... and she can make another within a couple seconds. I don't think it should be expected that she would hesitate to fire one.

Also, Just a note. If you're not gonna say Kongou and Kongo to differentiate, at least call them by the actual callsigns as stated in the fic...

Kongou-A being short for Kongou-Actual AKA Teitoku Sexual DESStroyer of Worlds.

The callsign you're looking for, Kongo's, is Kay-Purple. As in, she glows Purple and her name starts with K.

Right now she has limited supply of nanomaterial, and nothing in original material suggest that she can make more on her own.

If anyone can, she can. She's a Flagship of an entire FoF Fleet. The Manga makes damn sure to point out that's quite significant. Additionally, Hyuuga was capable of making it iirc.

My take on it is she'd need to settle down and set up some infrastructure to create new nanomaterial. It'd also take time.
She can certainly shoot herself dry.

And yes, I do want to do the adventures of mini-Kongo.

Another avenue of 'approach' for Kongo is if she has a track on your course, she gets ahead submerged, lurks and then surfaces at knife fighting range.

To be fair, there's a *lot* of islands that can't really be properly monitored anymore. Ironically including the same island that Blue Steel made their base. She could easily get it set up on that island if she wanted to and no one would be able to tell. Set it up to run autonomously and not be obvious and she has a production center she has to return to only once in a long while, repairs being on the far, far, side of never gonna be needed.

Or yes, she can just not care to fire her missiles off, close to spitting distance (metaphorically speaking) and start wrecking your shit with big fucking lasers and her SGC.

Kongou-A is specifically the Mental Model of Arpeggio!Kongo. The people at Yokosuka don't get that the female looking body is a satellite of hte ship.

Also, calling either Kongo a destroyer, even if it's for a bad pun, is the best way get in their shitlist. Both Kongous are battleships and proud of it.

Also that yes.... Though as a note, 80kts is actually under what she was *recorded* at and that was while submerged.

Kongo *is* faster on the surface.

Actually, if I remember correctly, the shots from Photon Cannons CAN bend and curve as necessary. See Vampire and Repulse's first appearance in the manga. There's also the anime where Haruna and Kirishima turned their Photon Cannons to ones that fire explosive slugs strong enough to break through Yokusaka's Wall with one or two hits. I'm also sure a railgun is easy enough to replicate with nanomaterial so no, the curvature of the Earth won't stop Kongou from wrecking entire fleets from BVR.

Honestly, in KC the title of "the four stooges" has been firmly won by the team of Kinugasa, Aoba (AKA "Zombie girl One"), Kako and Furutaka (AKA "I see dead people"). Otherwise, the Bongo sisters would be serious (as a manner of speaking) contenders for the title.
 
The only thing worse than for Kongo to sink several PLAN ships would be that even if (when) Japanese Kanmusu are able to help her snap out of it, this will only confirm to the Chinese that Kongo is some sort of Japanese super weapon. Other nations (Russia, Korea, United States) would have a wide range of opinions but the problems created would not even be solved by Kongo's leaving since 'Everyone knows' the Japanese have her. Truth not withstanding.
