It's good to see my first instincts about her way back when I first got here were proven wrong. That's actually kind of a relief. Still...

SCG, you're such a troll! And I can't even hold it against you, because I would have done the exact same thing in your position.

Ah well. Now it's time to kick back and watch the show.

Yay so I was right to have faith in SCG!
Too bad we did not get to hug her, Marcus sure could use a hug after lying like that, it may be for a good cause but it essentially took him back to the person he was using that love.
Too bad I missed the vote.

Omake: A different route
So I started this before the whole 'Relis Dying' thing went down, but since this Omake was already pretty thoroughly speculative rather than attempting to predict what was to come, I figured I may as well finish it. A glimpse of a future that could have been perhaps.

In any case, I think it's cute. Basically it's a speculative future where Marcus married Kifa and Tamamo, Relis Married Alicia, and all of them live in a small town out in the country far enough away that any stupid plots or drama that try to get them don't destroy a city on the way to do so.

The door creaked, thick hinges issuing a familiar keen of metal as they turned upon each other, old hardwood groaning faintly as it shifted with the motion. A slender twin-tailed figure standing silhouetted in the sunlight streaming in from outside.

"You're late."

Marcus looked at the clock as she stepped across the threshold and smirked. "More like you were early, Alicia kick you out again Relis?"

The soldier turned on her stool, glaring at the demon, though there was no real heat behind the angry gaze. She turned back, slumping onto her elbows as she pouted. "Yeah… Bet she's cheatin' on me with those doki-... Dakumuu-... Body-Pillows of you right now." Marcus patted her on the shoulder sympathetically, it wasn't the first she'd heard of this, nor was it the last. It seemed that even after she was gone Lorraine's influence had come with more than a few lasting effects.

"Aren't you still cheating on her with your entire armory though?"

"Well yeah…" Relis rolled her eyes at the question, grabbing her drink and taking another sip. "But I'm the one stuck at the bar hanging out with your sorry ass so I get to be the one to bitch about my cheating wife." A sly smile decorated the tipsy soldier's features. "Speaking of which… How are yours?"

All the humour left Marcus' face in an instant at that and slowly she lowered her head to the bar with a groan, planting her face on the hardwood countertop. "I thought it was going well but… I think I might need a new home again."

Relis cackled, Marcus turned her head just enough to glare at her friend. "I'm serious! I thought they were starting to get over this stupid rivalry, even managed to get them both into bed at the same time for once instead of this stupid alternating until I'm exhausted bullshit!" Marrying both Kifa and Tamamo had seemed like such a good idea at the time as a way to try and stop either of them from hating her for choosing the other one over them but Marcus had quickly found out that rather than defusing the feud she had simply made herself another battlefield to be fought over.

Relis only laughed harder as Marcus complained, the demon starting to go red in the face at the soldier's mockery. "It's not funny! It was great right up until Kifa woke up and started screaming at her mother for being a 'perverted incestuous harlot'! I barely had time to get my clothes on before she started throwing spells!" Marcus pouted, "hey, don't I get the right to complain since I'm hanging out at the bar too?"

Relis just shook her head, though with her forehead rested against the bar it ended up being more of a rolling motion, her laughter subsiding into giggles. "Only you Marcus… Only you…"

She dragged herself up again and smirked. "Besides, I'm pretty sure I warned you about this when you brought up proposing in the first place, so if you get to complain all you're gonna get from me is an 'I told you so'."

Relis took another sip of her drink while Marcus just groaned, looking down the counter to wave at the Shop Clerk Girl manning the till. "The usual?" Marcus hesitated, then slipped off her stool onto her feet again. "Make it a little stronger actually… I'll be right back."

As she trotted off, Relis raised an eyebrow. "Are you seriously telling me she still hasn't noticed you making her drinks stronger every time already?" SCG just shrugged and Relis shook her head. "Demon Physiology huh?"

A chuckle was the only response.

=======

When Marcus came back from the bathroom five minutes later, the drink was already waiting for her as she slid into her seat. Taking a quick sip, she gave Relis a funny look. "You didn't put anything in this did you?" When all she received by way of answer was a raised eyebrow she took another sip and shrugged. "Huh… I thought it tasted a little funny is all…"

"Well you did ask her to make it stronger..." Marcus glared and with that opening, Relis took the initiative again. "So how's Iza doing? Heard from her or Nagi lately?" This time it was Marcus' turn to shake her head though. After things had started to settle down Iza had grown more and more antsy and had eventually convinced Marcus to help her get a body again. She'd hung around for a little while once they had actually succeeded (something of a quest unto itself) but it hadn't been long before she vanished, taking her younger sister with her.

"I already told you about the letter we got a few weeks ago, but nothing since. She's due for another any day now though." Marcus had missed her friend and partner but the letters back served at least to reassure her that her white counterpart hadn't gotten herself into any trouble she couldn't get out of, and it was hard to complain when so many of the letters seemed just so genuinely happy. It seemed Iza and Nagi had been exploring to see the world for themselves, enjoying the sights and getting into scrapes along the way, as well as visiting a lot of beaches and sending back photos with only the words 'Umi Da' (with varying numbers of exclamation points afterwards) written on them.

It would almost be disconcerting if it wasn't… Well… Iza.

Though Marcus was beginning to suspect she would need an entirely separate dedicated photo album for the beach pictures alone.

With that, the conversation lapsed into a comfortable silence, Demon and Soldier sipping at their drinks quietly, looking up only briefly when the ground shook slightly from an explosion in the distance. Marcus sighed "That'll be the house unless they managed to take it outside… I should probably head back and try to calm them down." She glared at the still-half-full glass on the counter and groaned. "Still hardly any buzz... I'm too sober for this crap."

Slapping a silver coin down, the demon turned and marched out of the bar, grumbling under her breath before pausing at the door. "Same time next week?"

Relis just raised a glass and nodded. "Same time next week Marcus."

Squaring her shoulders, Marcus marched out the door to confront her wives. Relis downed the rest of her drink and flicked her own payment onto the counter in turn. "Guess I'd better get going as well."

It hadn't come without hardship and sacrifice, it wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, and it certainly wasn't anything that anyone would call normal. But at the same time, after so long struggling and fighting for survival, this strange, chaotic, and confusing everyday life was peaceful by comparison.

Both of them simply wanted to enjoy it as long as it would last.

Interesting things in there, but a nice read nonetheless let us raise our glasses to Relis, and a future that definitely can't happen now.

Love seeing Marcus marrying the mother daughter duo, still a bit surprise with Relis and Alicia, felt there's space between the two plus Iza running off.

Holy Words
[x] A happy ending... you almost didn't think it was possible anymore.
[x] Luci... Thank you. Please save them.
[x] Check on Iza. Is she okay?
[x] Watch the confrontation.

You stood transfixed at the woman before you as light filled the throne room. It was light that came from Hope incarnate as she stepped forward to plunge into the madness of love. It was by her mercy that she would judge two slaves of love with all her strength. It was to offer them redemption for all the sins they committed. You watched as Light swallowed Dark and the vampires stepped back.

The sight of it would no doubt make Orthus preen in delight. The guilt that Eva and Vania carried was immense after all. You knew that n their madness, there was still one glimmered of sanity that kept screaming for release. And once the illusion of love disappeared, that lone piece would take the brunt of their guilt and regrets. They would be saved from their madness but it would be too much for them to handle.

But... This was the right choice, wasn't it..?

A happy ending... It was almost like it wasn't possible anymore. It may not be perfect but you'll take it. You'll take anything at this point. If it means you can have the chance of making Vania and Eva return to normal then you'll take it!

"Luci... Thank you," you breathed as the wingless Angel had her back in you, "Please save them."

Lucifina glanced at you and raised a thumbs up. Maybe now, you can beat at ease. You'll let her handle it.

By your side, Iza floated as she had her eyes on Lucifina's back. She seemed genuinely happy to see Lucifina again, bearing a large smile on her face as she looked on. She then blinked and turned to you as you stared right back at her.

"Marcus?" She asked as she had a look of concern.

You nodded her way then and replied, "You okay?"

"As okay as I can be. Thought I can't help but feel worried. Luci's going to fight them all in her own," Iza murmured in worry as Lucifina stood guard before you.

The Shop Clerk Girl laughed out loud at that and said, "At her peak, she can handle them pretty well. After all, she does bear the name Lucifer."

"And you think that's enough?" You asked with a frown.

The Shop Clerk Girl smiled at you then as she answered, "Well, she is my protégé. She can be cruel when she wants to... Seems like the fireworks are starting."

.....
....
...

Vania and Eva rose to the challenge, enduring through the searing Holy Light.

Lucifina stood tall before Marcus as she lowered her weapon, her fingers wrapped around its handle. Stepping forward, she exhuded a menacing aura that burned shadows that crept up on her.

THE MORNINGSTAR AT THE DAWN OF A NEWBORN WORLD
LUCIFINA LUCIFER

Vania clicked her tongue and created a longsword from pure darkness while Eva retrieved her King Saw broadsword from the nether. They bared at fangs at the Light therefore the Light shall smite them without mercy. That was just how to worked. The Light was straight and rigid, its rules were few and easy to understand.

But stand against its majesty and all will be rendered powerless. The Omnipotence granted to the first vampire and transferred to her brood was the strongest of all abilities. It was enough to shake a Lord's will through its brutal nature. In this world that was the Rule that made the One who Ruled the Night the apex predator of the planet.

And yet... The Light did not recognize that rule.

Therefore making this clash a paradox in itself.

"Give her back.... Give her back to us!" Vania screamed as she wrapped her world in pure crimson.

Lucifina braced herself but the world soon came to a halt. Time itself stopped as Vania was the only one left moving, choking and breathing heavily as she eased herself. Her body was wrapped in otherworldly power as she stepped forward.

The prestige of a Queen. In this Crimson World her Rule was absolute... Then with great speed she kicked off the ground, moving towards Marcus in a desperate attempt to whisk her away. Vania reached out towards her Love, her Light... Only for her body to react as the Angel struck her from the side.

CLANG

In the frozen time, Lucifina moved normally as she ground her shield against Vania's sword. Those ethereal silver eyes shining as the Light defied the rule of the Vampire.

"I'm going to protect her... So leave her out of this!" Lucifina roared as she raised her shield and Vania's sword.

Her Morningstar moved with the speed of a dagger as Vania dashed back. Behind the Angel the air rippled, making her turn and parry Eva's blow and sending the Vampire down. Lucifina turned and blocked a strike from Vania while leaning to the side to avoid Eva's blade.

Sparks flew as the Angel struck hammering blows against her opponents as she caught Vania's sword by the edge of her shield. She then ducked beneath Eva's swing and smashed the side of her Morningstar into Vania's face to knock her aside. She the stepped forward to slam her shield into Eva, stunning the latter and sending her flying with a vicious kick.

Time resumed and Vania's scream tore through the air. Both she and Eva activated their magic as pale hands reached out to grab the Angel.

"Hey, careful now!" The Shop Clerk Girl cried out as she shielded Marcus from Lucifina's outward blast of Holy Light.

"Sorry!" The Angel squeaked as she evade getting skewered by a saw-like sword from the ground. The attacks didn't stop and continued to follow her until she was attacked.

Vania struck hard but Lucifina had raised her shield at the same time, driving her mace beneath her and smashing the saw sword that was supposed to come up. The Queen of the Vampires was wrapped in red and black power, her leg surging with the raw strength as she struck Lucifina's shield, knocking the Angel back.

Lucifina's eyes fell upon the tip of Vania's sword coming for her eye before it was directed upwards by the butt of her Morningstar. A foot them struck Vania's gut while Lucifina jumped and swung down her mace, the Strength that she displayed enough to blast through the floor of the throne room.

The castle shuddered before Lucifina spun in place, blocking Vania's counter and deflecting Eva's backstab, sending both Vampires away.

"Cruel... So cruel... We've waited for so long! Why can't we even be allowed this happiness?!" Eva howled as she tore through the ground and struck.

But like a mountain unyielding through the violence of a storm, Lucifina blocked with her shield. The shockwave from the attack shattering every window in the vicinity as Eva fought against the strength of the Angel.

A flash of outrage passed Lucifina's face as she answered, "If you driven by this much Sin, you'll only taint the Light you so desire! You don't deserve her if this was all she amounted to you! Another doll to break!"

Lucifina's power uttered a high pitched shriek before Eva was sent sliding into the ground. Vania stepped into the fray and had Lucifina catch her blow. Her sword struck with blindingly fast speed as the two powers clashed with one another. Vania stepped back as she bounced off Lucifina's shield, turning and raise her leg while the Angel dodged low.

She then thrust her sword which Lucifina caught with her mace before Eva descended with a heavy slash. Lucifina disengaged and rolled to avoid the strike. Vania pressed to attack but the Angel blocked and parried the blow, sending Vania stumbling. Lucifina then tried to give chase before she fell down and slid as Eva swung at her head.

The Angel then kneeled and threw her Morningstar, the weapon becoming a veritable projectile which shattered Vania's sword as she tried to block. Moving forward, Lucifina threw her shield without letting Vania recover. The Vampire Queen snarled as she punched aside the flying shield as Lucifina delivered a powered hook.

Vania raised her palm and caught the vicious blow, the Light burning her skin. Lucifina heard the said coming for her back, pulling Vania in and ducking beneath her arm, pushing her towards Eva's blade. Eva stomped the ground and stopped while Vania slammed her palms on the side of the blade.

Lucifina jumped back as light filled her hand, spears twinkling in her grasp before unleashing the light forward. Eva grabbed her mother and pushed her back, enduring the searing flashes of holy power that burned her skin. It was here Vania palmed Eva's back, using her as springboard and somersaulting into the air.

Vania sent down blood red spikes to rain down the Angel, to which the latter created shields of light to defend herself with. Eva stepped into Lucifina's view and shattered her light shields with a single strike.

Vania then switched in an used her claws to tear across Lucifina's throat, sending the Angel staggering.

"LUCI!" Marcus cried out in shock just as Vania's predatory appendages burst out of the Queen's back.

Every single jagged limb tore through Lucifina's armor and skewered her. Vania's lips curled into a smile then as she spoke.

"I GOT YOU~!" She sang as Lucifina grunted in pain...

But then...

"No, I got you," Lucifina chuckled as the limbs that pierced her crumbled into nothing as she grabbed Vania by the face, "You better get serious... Because I am not playing around!"

Lucifina's hand shined before in the next moment Vania screamed, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!"

"I'll heal you. Purify you... I'll rip that lofty notion of Love out of your mind," Lucifina growled as Vania's face burned. It was then the Angel released the Vampire, the former kicking the latter hard enough to shoot right out of the throne room.

With the light of her soul burning so bright... She was prepared to face the entire world to repay her debts.

Vania rose out of the rubble as she and Eva stood beside one another. The two vampires raised their hands towards one another as magic filled the air. It was here that the black and red aura began to take a more twisted form as it danced between the two vampires before Lucifina.

Marcus could only watch as the light of madness in their eyes seemed more evident than before.

"We'll show you..." Eva snarled as the air around her turned violent.

Vania bared her teeth as a great pressure pressed down on the surroundings, calling out loud, "The depths of our Love!"

"BE SURE TO TAKE IT ALL. BLOODLINE EVOLUTION!CHAOS DEMISE!"

Lucifina stood on guard as she closed her eyes. The light in her soul shining as she stepped forward.

"HEAVEN SYNC COMPLETE. GRAND SYNCHRONIZATION... DELTA REFLECTION!"

The chaotic roar of the Omnipotent's power was unleashed, rushing forth as Lucifina conjured a mirror... A grand, golden, heavenly mirror...

Light filled the room and swallowed all...

.....
....
...

Your name was Marina and you were dragging yourself through the ground. Coughing and wheezing as you moved. You didn't exactly have enough energy to run but you can crawl, you can walk... Crawling saved more energy...

You really lucked out this time with how things went for you. Honestly you should be more careful next time. A sigh escaped your lips as you made your way down further to the depths of the castle. Judging from the explosions above, Marcus must have been throwing quite the party.

It almost amused you. Hopefully she can survive this ordeal that's before her. It would be a real shame if you built her up this much for her to die to some crazed vampires. Not that you didn't get where they were coming from of course. Marcus did have that charm that you wanted to corrupt.

You got up from the ground as the smell of blood filled your nostrils. You were close... The smell alone being enough for you to be energized. The castle shook and shuddered but you ignored it. What was important was satisfying your own stomach first.

You let out a shaky breath as you came upon a different section of the castle. Your thoughts returned to the power you had released in anticipation to fight Marcus. It's a good thing you stuffed yourself with as much blood as possible... Otherwise you'd be dead by then. It's a heavy price but you didn't actually understand how you came up with that power.

Maybe next time...

You paused and got low as you went for the corner of the hall. In an alcove, you hid yourself as footsteps echoed all about. Looking up, you found a vent looking down at you. You smiled as you transformed into red mist, floating upwards into the vent and quietly rematerializing.

It was a bit cramped thanks to your chest but you managed to make yourself comfortable. You moved alongside the footsteps as you peered down below you.

A young girl dressed as one of the vampire servants you killed on your way up approached the same door you were headed to.

Her golden hair danced behind her before she came to a halt before the door. Taking out an access crystal, the doors parted as she went right in.

That wasn't the sort of movement a servant would make in a crisis like this. How peculiar...

You turned into mist and glided in, keeping out of sight as you came upon... A warehouse filled with coffins. No, they were glass tubes holding bodies inside of them. Numerous bodies of girls from varying ages and races, all trapped within.

With your magic, you could tell that they lacked the function to become conscious, trapping them in an eternal state of sleep. You hung low and hid from the servant girl as she stopped before an aisle.

You endured your hunger a bit more as you spied on this cute blonde girl.

"Yes. I'm here. There are over eight hundred specimens remaining from the Queen's collection," the girl spoke into her terminal while looking at the tubes, "I'll be proceeding with the mission. The Queen and the Princess are engaging an Angel. They'll be busy."

You murmured in a quiet tone as you looked on, "Taking advantage are we..?"

The girl continued speaking with a nod, "If that's your will... Yes... I understand. But will this really free my sister from that parasite?"

You raised your eyebrow at that.

"Yes... No, I don't mean to doubt you. Yes. I'll be getting the sample. Thank you," the blonde girl murmured as she sighed, "Lady Jeanne..."

Jeanne..?

You felt like... Yes. You suddenly had this inescapable urge to murderer...

That name... Where did you hear that name..?

GROOOOWWWLLLL

Wow of all times your stomach had to fuck you over.

The blonde girl turned as she summoned a spear through golden light, "Who's there?!"

Ah... It seems like you're caught... But that name.. Jeanne...

Where did you exactly hear that...

"Come out! Or else i'll kill you!" The blonde girl threatened as unstable magic filled her spear.

How cute... And nostalgic...

That's... interesting.
Iza
Title: Star Eater
Status: So strong...
I knew it. I knew all the other Marcus' still had some roll left to play out, well actually I thought Marina was going to try eat them first but now it seem that probably Iza's sister is working for Jeanne and thinks Marcus is a parasite... oh goody.

I doubt Marina is at all capable of fighting right now but it doesn't seem like she knows exactly where Marina is.

Not sure this is Nagi, but also not sure who else it could be

In any case, I'd say it's time for Marina to book it

Also: NIGHT CREW! ASSEMBLE!

[x] Maintain stealth for a bit longer and eat some of the glass tube girls to regain your strength. Stay out of her direct line of sight until you're ready.

[x] Let's mess with her for a bit. Be equal parts mysterious and mischievous. Keep putting the fake servant girl off balance. Ruthlessly exploit the fact that you know this girl isn't suppose to be here.
[x] Find out what she's doing here and who this lady Jeanne is. She sounds vaguely familiar.
[x] You might as well. Poke through the girls memories.

Right, Marcus eating Marcus, how horrifying well more reading memories.

Marina properly not gonna suffer anykind of promblem from devoring the others Marcues unless she eat too much of them. Marina memory of Marcus are confirm to be gone now. The memory may intgue her and she may reach the conclusion that all the girls in that room are alternate version of the same person but not likely immediately.

[X] Muramasa

We do have confirmation that if Marcus ate Marina it would destroy her

Probably best yo assume the same holds true here

Also how do you intend to get into the tubes?

I think we might want a rider that says we attack if it looks like she's setting up to perform her mission in any particular capacity, whatever it is, but aside from that, I think I'll just vote for this.

I don't know what Maya wants with comatose Marcus-alternates but it can't just be destroying them since the Calamities will very likely do that anyways.

Which means that we probably don't need to worry too much about collateral down here.
