Guys, I just got a Prescript! It reads: "To Naron, close the votes and begin writing. Complete the segment before next Monday."

Would you look at that, maybe the Index has the right idea
Adhoc vote count started by Naron on Jan 26, 2023 at 5:33 AM, finished with 132 posts and 62 votes.

And Gold ekes out a win over White. Your patron saint is now the King of Greed :V
(I merged variations of the same colour (e.g. Blue and Pale Blue) under the most voted version for housekeeping reasons)

Oh well.
We can at least have something that looks like money, It can comfort us in the cold harsh night of the back streets.

Planning for the future isn't bad but true enough.
Isn't there something called living weapons that was mentioned very early in the game, but didn't got elaborate on? we can try to expand on that, and even low level fixers/Syndicates can afford it so I don't really see why not.
You mean the bionic weapon that Taein used?
"How's my new weapon, isn't it sick? Union Co. is the go-to workshop brand for ready-made bionic weapons and equipment. Their prices are pretty reasonable compared to most procedures and workshop weapons, too. On top of superb performance, you can replace or attach them easily without having to worry about allergies, so it's pretty damn handy, you see?

Oh, bionic equipment is pretty simple; it's like a weapon you attach to your body. It's not at all scary or dangerous, though it could feel a bit awkward when you use it for the first time. In my case, I accidentally ripped Naoki's clothes while walking by, and cut my own cheek when I flailed it outta frustration… But, now that I've gotten used to it, I feel as if I have three hands. If you have trouble finding the perfect procedure or weapon for you, try bionic equipment. I guarantee it's good."
Though, my impression of it is: "The bio-weapon's effectiveness is good and it deserve the pricing," rather than it being cheap. In my option, a good basic weapon first would be a way to go instead of faulty/cheap augmentations and cybernetics. There's also accessories mention in Gyeong-mi's page.

Some fools laugh at these accessories I'm wearing. They think I'm a glossy punk trying to look cool, figged out with random ornaments without a second thought. What they don't know is that these ain't just for fashion. They're good for making arrogant idiots let their guard down, but before that, they're workshop products with real, practical uses.

You heard about how people use belts to choke others, didn't ya? These accessories are similar to that. They're useful for beating someone to death, though I gotta take the risk that comes from using 'em. Expensive gadgets crafted by premium workshops have almost zero side effects. On the other hand, this ring for example lets me deliver a harder blow with my punches, but it chafes the skin of my hand at the same time. This one's on me for using it for too long, and I hear quality products usually get regular repairs and maintenance to prevent that… The side effects on my gear's pretty minor and negligible, but in worse cases, you get some poor sod whose neck got snapped by the necklace they were wearing.
From my impression, though, the cheap stuff and affordable stuff we be able to buy at Grade 9 will come with some side-effect.

hmm... We just have to be careful then.
or we get lucky and find a fresh fixer corpse, That way we can actually get a basic weapon, But we don't have that kind of luck. So yeah, fat chance.

It will likely force us to fight other rats for it.

But in my opinion, we aren't too likely to be choosing those kind of things in the future.

We should see about getting a job first before planning on those kind of expenditure.

Sure, Naron's narrative shield would help us out here regarding the money (aka we dont have to deal with it per Naron's words), but I highly doubt he would give us the option to buy something out of our currently pocketless paygraded like a bio-weapon or strong augmentations.

See how the situation develop first before planning high dreams like being doc Oct in fhe city.

Acting like Doc oct in the city is a good way to get shot in the head by some random guy that wants to test his gun skills

Until you realize theres an actual Doc Oct character in the Gaze Office.

It can definitely work. 4 extra powerful robotic arm is not a bad augment/weapon to have.

Just gotta get that money money goodness before we can decide on what build to get. Not that it will matter too much, since I don't think Naron will allow us to min max to that point.

But still. Its part of the reason why I say to wait for now. We never know what we might get.

You want money. You want to sleep on a proper bed. You want to taste proper food. There are all things people want, things that their hearts desire. Greed may not be good, but it's not bad either. People will naturally want things they do not have (like basic right). But without a hint of greed, they wouldn't have the desire to reach it. It'll be just a simple dream. You can't stare longingly at a door all day, you need to open it if you want to get anywhere.

I think of Gold as less greed and far more 'I want to be able to walk down my street with my head held up high like Purple Tear'. Gold has that charm and exuberance to it that is usually subdued in the city. This will probably lead to the MC being rather Flamboyant over time but that just makes them make fun.

Gold reminds me of money, and money reminds me of a certain Grade 1 Fixer with a TV for a head, so that's cool! Best boss in the world 10/10 would attempt to start a patent war again

Just caught up with the thread, read an Iori "40 years" discourse for the umpteenth time in my life. This was touched on in the Cool Kids Club (The people who did the translation for LoR) discord server. I've taken pictures of the convo from Casual Watson and Neet (two of the translators) talking about it, if needs be I can show them but a brief summary is:
Neet: "40 years is 40 years"
Watson: "imo it'd be better to interpret it as a "this happened 40 years ago and you're still hung up over it? lol" sorta comment"

Take it as you will. That said, before you go bothering anyone, the Cool kids Club team has since been effectively dissolved as they have been made official employees of Project Moon after LoR got out of early access.

But if Gold wins
Did we got the bling?
As if a Rat could afford bling, pah!

Ciel:

As an aside, seeing that there is a little time until the Update, I feel like talking a little. Specifically about Quest Ends. Not the actual end, but stuff that prematurely ends the Quest. I doubt many such opportunities will appear and I will continue not to say what the conditions are. But I can give you an example of what would end the Quest; specifically because that one is not possible to achieve.

See, at first I considered to make spectacularly stupid deaths a reason to pack up and leave. And we are not talking about "You missed the hints over here and over there" or "Picked a fight with the wrong person out of pride", no. I mean things like taunting an Arbiter. Stuff that is so stupid, in and out of character, that I realised I would veto it even if someone tried to vote for it. Hence why it is impossible to do and I can talk about it.

But yeah. This is also why I can say that no matter how often Ciel dies, death will not be a Quest-ender.

hmm, so commons mistake will be tolerated, but completely stupid ones will not.
Well, As long as our voters in here doesn't be stupid and actually read and pay attention, then we should be fine.
Probably.
Who knows, we might anger the will of the city right after our character creation and end the quest right there, That's a possibility, right?
edit:
You know, Since this is "you die, you come back" type of deal, do we come back after we are dead for like a minute or two minutes, Or we are back right then like within half a minutes Or we come back like Two or three hours before we are dead And does the main character get any memory of the death or only us will know?
I know you won't tell us, but it's fun to think about.
Like what if this is some sort of sick twisted Experimental equipment of T corp going horribly wrong and making our little rats life a living hell or heaven based on your perspective.
or something.
