[X] Refuse and switch the timeline

as much as i love the idea of Ciel going out on his own term, i want to see him somehow claw his way out of this.
also, if this was a post-Light this moment got a possibility of an E.G.O. but i presume there's a possibility/option where he will distort instead I assume? and i assume it's going to be a weighted option depending on the situation and whatever Carmen whispered to Ciel?

No, E.G.O and Distortion would not be a vote. Everyone knows exactly what the Thread would vote for in such a situation unless I put on ridiculous weights. Assuming we do see the White Nights and Dark Days, as well as Ciel reaching a point where they stand at the precipice, I will do what feels right for the character at that point.

To him, Ciel, His dream has always been to become a color. It is the purpose of this quest after all, but... With all our action being prioritized towards keeping the friends around us alive, it seems like he have finally found what kept him going, it is to protect those around him and one day, one day soon, be at the Top, so everyone around him will not die like his pals when he was a Rat.

He found his courage to protect.

To one day no longer worry about the friends around him dying while he closes his eyes and sleep.
We felt several of our missions just to keep the friends around us alive, even though they have the power to keep themselves safe. But we still did it. We still want to keep them around us, to keep them safe, to keep them Happy, to keep them around us.
to protect them at all cost.

It is a fitting ending for this quest.

And for that, I refuse to accept this death

[X] Refuse and switch the timeline

Let us walk forward knowing that what drives us is the courage to protect the people around us, never letting go of anyone, no matter how slim the chances are.

I think this is decisive enough. Closing here.
Adhoc vote count started by Naron on Sep 30, 2023 at 4:10 AM, finished with 56 posts and 26 votes.

Seeing that the next 'Update' will only consist of a short segment, I will have it up once I am done with some other stuff. You get an extended voting cycle until next Thursday at the usual time, so please use this time to consider what you want to do next.

so please use this time to consider what you want to do next.

Already did some of that, for now, the options seems to be:

-Save Rose and get the Hana position, lose Giano, lives on to continue our dream at the cost of a friend.

-Save Giano and lose Rose, since it is absolutely against the moto of *all for Hana*, it loses us the position, but we keep Giano, and she would probably be grateful. We can continue chasing our dream, but this is a setback.

-Try the hail-mary to flee with everyone, low chances of working, but if it does we keep our friend and probably the Hana position, if it fails, we're back here but without even the heroic death.

-Some are trying to think on fighting Elena using the T-corp thing and the gale force ring... I give it a very low chance of working, same for poking her with our stick under the device's effect, we just saw Giano's weapon get destroyed trying to hurt the enemy, ours is lesser quality, she won't feel a thing.

One question I have, Naron, is about the third option, given it is likely to create the same situation as right now, would you be willing to allow a subvote of *if first task impossible, save Rose/Giano*? It would save time, but that is very much metagaming and I'm really not sure it would be a good idea, your call.

Elena broke the weapon, to be clear. It did not break on its own.

Nope, we are not doing that. If you want to try something else, I want you all to commit.

Still don't expect to have our stick do significant damages either way.

Was pretty sure this would be the answer, at least that way this is clear right out of the gate an there is no temptation.

This just reduced the chance to try the Hail-may for me, opponent too strong, chances too low, better than I thought before last update since we confirmed the device worked on two people, but still risks it not working for long enough.

Before you lies Giano and basically next to her kneels Rose, both helpless. Rose stares in shock at her defeated protector, not quite realising that you are the only one who can still save her. Giano is bleeding and seems unconcious.

You have to run, but that woman will follow if you do. Help is too far out. You can not fight.

Someone has to distract her.

Giano? Or Rose?

There is no way you can run fast enough carrying both.

"How many bridges do I have to burn"

Yep, this is a City quest. We got 3 options and they all suck.

Elena
Goal: Eat a hearty meal
Do we have anything that qualifies as a hearty meal?

I expect this to fail, to be honest.
I don't foresee a scenario where we get our cake and we are still alive to eat it.
My suspect is that Elena will just choose for us. But I still want to believe.

[x] Save Rose

Not enough chances of the T-corp thing being able to shoulder three people, and I will not go and sabotage our chances at Hana for Ciel, hence, Rose is first, she gives us the best chance of escaping in and on itself anyway, since she is the one with the device to accelerate in any case. Trying to save Giano means either trying to flee without that particular advantage, or losing time to wrestle it from Rose, both things that reduce our chances.

I do not see a makeshift plan of trying to get all 3 people out working, unless we missed something vital so far. We are simply in way too terrible a position to deal with such an overwhelming force. It just isn't that kind of choice.

Naron did manage to salvage Rose's character with what happened... But I still think Ciel would choose an old friend over her, even with the Hana position weighing over it.

Honestly, cruel as it may be, I'm considering writing in to grab the T-device from Rose before dipping out. Sigh... In for a penny, in for a pound, I suppose.
