My vote is definitely going to the mystery box because I'm a compulsive gambler I think it could be interesting! Slightly more seriously the city has so much crazy stuff that the mystery box could be really helpful.

I wonder how a Fairy would work if, say, the user was trapped in a sealed metal box for a while.

The force of your Lucerne slams five cultists into each other with sickening crunches; the first one hit screams in agony from the heat.

Strike! 🥳

"They really made it to Urban Legend by hiding in the Index's shadow,

Well, the prescripts aren't just for show, they did manage to claw themselves a place as a star of the city that stays up for a reason.

Enough time for a stone-faced man to step around that same corner.

He is tall and imposing, but what really makes you freeze are the fine, black suit and white cape. A golden clasp gleams in the sunlight and six metal dendrites reach up behind his back, swaying as if in a breeze. He wears no blindfold.

And now for the Index's real play, we've taken care of the bait to move us there, what will the prescripts have asked of their proxy?

"Yes, twenty-two, that is everyone. I received a Prescript to purge your group, but it seems coming here was unnecessary."

Yeah, was expecting that one, the fact their messenger wasn't coming back was telling, we are being groomed in seeing the fact that the prescripts kills on what is seemingly a whim, but for what purpose?

Jiro spoke of your habit to repeat orders several times or in larger quantities. It may be that habit of yours has become a hindrance to the Prescripts' will."

Hahahaha, oh god, my sides! Ok, I think I see prescripts' plan:

Get these guys to kill some people they want killed, and use the fact that they are overzealous to both allows them to gain notoriety and give an excuse for why they are going to be purged, then, when we get interested and take the bait, stop giving them new prescripts, help the pursuers in finding them, and send a proxy to purge them exactly at the same time.

What? These guys being overzealous could be something not part of the plan? Ah! Fat chance, this is the prescripts we're talking about, they wouldn't have chosen these guys if they didn't want them to be overzealous.

Maybe they aren't as crazy as we thought.

No, they aren't as crazy as you thought… they're worse.

If the Prescripts really are more than some insane ramblings, then you need to be careful. This may just be what they want, but you are too weak to do anything. In fact, getting to kill some cultists is already more than you expected to ever get. Do you really need more?

And now we see why the bait was put down, interesting, that the prescripts are going at it that way may mean that they *know* that killing us wouldn't stick, so they're going for discouraging us.

We have tickets for tomorrow's WARP train as well.

Tempting.

Nah, I'll go with a suit, better to be done with first priority stuff before choosing funky options.
Pain Train is bad but inescapable part of living in this hellhole. I'm only glad Parvati spared it for a time being.

Its nice that our hunch of why exactly Messenger wasn't showing up for a bit paid off. Still, two deaths via WARP train are incoming, and not much we can do about it. Wonder if we'll get a glimpse of the hell of WARP train or if it will even have timeline switches at all while in the train.

Unsure about what to pick. All the options are pretty good. Starting earlier on getting more augs will boost our survivability, but with how the job will require numbers rather than strength, we might delay picking that. Singularities are useful and may come in clutch, even if they are one-use only. And mystery box fuels our collective gambling addiction by its existence alone.

So, what's your thoughts, folks?

I guess that means Ciel made the right choice...but what would have happened if he went the other way? would he still have been discouraged in his pursuing a grudge against the index? (Xanatos gambit?)

Also, tempted to go mystery box since it's not so much a gamble as letting the author have free reign over this, which is sure to be interesting. But otherwise I would go for rounding out the suite.

hmm.
Why do I want to find a restaurant to eat in district 23, even though... you know.... cannibalism bad.
Still, it makes me curious.
And the customer service is usually pretty good! There's no complaints! at least no one alive left to complain.

:Us chefs don't usually eat our customers that fast...but if you are specially tasty, then don't mind if I do! HAWHAWHAWHAW! Oh well! This boy right here do have a good smell. Much better than usual dead meats we encounter! Wonder if I can make a good stew out of him... with some roasted ribs, and some good cuts from the legs, it's gonna be a goddamn feast to enjoy! HAWHAWHAWHAW!

A moonstone would be nice because of the...Warp Train. Otherwise some way of making sure that we don't degenerate too much would be nice...oh wait we have timeline, augment suite it is

Not gonna lie, probably one of the better outcomes for what the prescripts could have been, at least for Ciel's purposes.

I wonder how the T corp singularity that keeps passengers intact interacts with our timeline switching upon death. Though I guess if we never die because of said singularity it just won't activate.
I feel like getting a one use singularity might end up with Ciel wasting it on the WARP train, and I don't know if W Corp will refund it for us so...

We're getting suit, not updating our augs so I don't see how "Upgrade your strength augment so it isn't weak to electricity" will work here.

Literal shock absorption is always nice. Though hopefully we can improve on our bioaugs during Ciel's tenure in Scythe Office.

"Suite", not "suit". The former means a full set of something, the latter is clothes. Though I probably could have worded this a little better, now that I think about it.

-[X] Search around for a better strength augment- preferrably, something capable of outputting a greater burst of strength at a critical moment. However, make sure it doesn't have a worse overall performance.

I think we need this. Either one or the other. Both are going to be useful in our assasination missions, if anything. While simply improving our stats in a general sense is great, I feel like some specialization can make us better at assasination: sneak in unnoticed if possible, kill the target before they can reach, get out.

Or we could follow the Shi Heathcliff method of assasination, I think. "If everyone is dead there can't be any witnesses" sounds fun.

Ah, I see. My lacking vocabulary did me dirty, nothing new. I have something different in mind in this case.
