A New Dawn (Ex-Papergeist) - A Worm/Naruto Crossover

Are you sure?
I am pretty sure she was taught that

...She was taught ninjutsu. No modern ninja except for Naruto and possibly Sasuke knows and understands the concept of ninshu. So in theory, in the event that either of the two are relocated to another world, they are the only ones capable of spreading the teachings of ninshu. And granting the use of chakra to others, but even then I doubt it.

And even if she knew something like the chakra transfer technique, we don't know how Earth Bet humans would react to foreign energy entering their system without chakra coils to assimilate it.

Oh my bad
I thought you said ninjutsu

I should mention that they could live with it really well, since I'm fairly sure that the first disciples of Hagoromo also didn't had the chakra coils. In fact we're not sure if getting the coils doesn't come with getting chakra since we never saw someone without chakra being gifted it in the manga.

Yeah, but that was Hagoromo that granted them chakra. It's doubtful that Konan!Taylor would be capable of doing the same thing, especially since she doesn't know or understand the concept of Ninshu.

If this was a transmigration of any one of the Otsutsuki clan members then I think it would be much more possible, though.

...And when you think about it, The Otsutsuki clan members act remarkably similar to entities. They drain the worlds they inhabit in order to create and eat the Fruit of the Tree of MightGod Fruit, and once the world is destroyed they travel to different dimensions in order to find another world with a God Tree. It's neat to think about.

Okay, this looks ally interesting, Konan is probably my favorite female character in Naruto so I'm always keen to see someone do something with her power.

3. If somehow the bitch trio convinces the crowd to not post the videos, then Taylor may well be fucked. The trio gets the other people in school to claim that Taylor attacked them with her powers, and PR goes along with it. Taylor gets labeled as a villain. This is somewhat unlikely but not impossible, given no cell phone videos of the locker incident were put online that we know of, but this is a lot more exciting so it may already be in the process of being uploaded to Youtube.
I seriously hope this isn't what happens. It utterly strains my disbelief to breaking point when I see people use it in fics and it reeks of railroading.

Kaguya!Taylor would be interesting.

Now Im super excited for the next chapter, and I hope Taylor doesn't join the Wards. No amount of good will can repair 2 years of psychological torment a Ward Hero has committed on Taylor, making her trigger and now outing her in public, destroying the unwritten rules all in the span of 2 years.

But I dont want her joining the Undersiders either. She should be her own entity, capable of making everyone, from Lung to Coil to even the bloody Endbringers, take pause when facing her down.

She should be her own entity, capable of making everyone, from Lung to Coil to even the bloody Endbringers, take pause when facing her down.

Lung and Coil are possible for that, but nothing in Konan's arsenal that we've seen in canon is even remotely capable of dealing with the Endbringers. The inner layers are far too dense to destroy with cutting paper or paper bombs, and even if she could reach them by stripping off the outer layers that would just result in the Endbringers escalating since they're sandbagging to begin with.

Whilst this is true, Konan did show at least enough talent with sealing to create all those explosive notes and helped perform the 'Phantom Dragons Nine Consuming Seals' technique used to seal the tailed beasts. So Konan presumably has at least some knowledge of the sealing arts. And as we saw from Naruto-canon, sealing could be used to take on god-like beings in the league of the Endbringers.

Basically whether Taylor poses a threat to the Endbringers depends on how much knowledge of sealing @AlSmash decides to give her and whether or not that would be effective against the Endbringers.

However, that misses the true purpose of this story. Because what I'm sure we all want to see is Taylor fighting Leviathan and suddenly the water is explosions!

Leviathan: Why is my water shadow exploding? How is my water shadow exploding?
Taylor: DIE!
Levithan: You know what? This is awesome! Suck it Behemoth, I can totally do explosions too now!

I didn't even know I needed this this morning, but I did. Bravo, sir.

As for some of the questions flying around, I'll answer that when I get an opportunity later today. I literally am running out the door to work right now.

There's only so many people that Hagoromo could gift chakra directly, and pretty much all of humanity and the animals now have chakra. That implies that giving chakra to people is far easier than you make it sound.

But he was still practically a god-like being, and with the ease Naruto had granting the thousands of shinobi in the 4th Shinobi World War bijuu chakra, for example, it stands to reason that he didn't have as hard of a time granting everyone chakra as you think.

And the most important part: both he and Naruto used Ninshu to do that. And Konan!Taylor doesn't know Ninshu, or have the mindset to perform it to the point that the two did, so I really don't think that anyone is going to be getting chakra anytime if it's coming from Taylor.

Edit: All of Hagoromo's followers knew and understood Ninshu too, so it would be easier for them to grant chakra to others compared to the modern ninja.

Interesting. I hadn't thought of it like that but they are somewhat similar. It's always interesting to wonder what other entity like beings would make of Zion & Earth and what Zion & Cauldron would make of them.

Ok true, this is indeed the best answer and will be very awesome even if she can't kill them.

As to whether or not she can kill/defeat them depends on what her sealing level is as Major said (which if it's high enough could have us seeing Endbringer!Jinchuuriki which would be pretty neat to see).

Funny idea: Konan seals away all the Endbringers in a superweapon and uses them to kill Scion to try and complete Pain's goal here. Is surprised when she does so and the Triumvirate starts cheering and celebrating her.

Even if she can't beat them though, her clones, sensing skills, and all around power and speed on top of every ninja trick she has, means that she changes the dynamic of any battlefield she enters and forces even the Endbringers to take a moment and re-evaluate their strategy (which given their alien minds is pretty 'taking pause' for them). Even if she can't straight up kill them by herself (which even Eidolon in his heyday couldn't do) she can knock them around and constrain them which could give others (like Flechette) a chance to strike

It just occured to me that once Taylor figures out flight, she's pretty much an Alexandria package. She flies, and she's super strong and durable and fast because fucking Naruto ninja. Probably not gonna realize quite how fast she is until she starts keeping pace with Velocity or something though, or until she KOs Fenja or Menja with a kick to the head. I mean if Sasuke can OHKO giant fucking bears as genuine...yeah this is gonna be fun, even if combat isn't the main point.

The real trick is probably going to be teaching herself to not go for the kill, or accidentally kill people, because she's not used to people being so fragile. Konan probably has some experience with protecting VIPs and whatnot, she was part of a mercenary organization, but not as much.

Gonna be real funny whenever it starts raining and people think that's going to screw over paper shenanigans. Konan of Rain scoffs at such a paltry obstacle.

And speaking of paper, if Taylor figures out how to manipulate fibers in paper, she can do some spider web-esque shenanigans. Paper tears easy, but its tensile strength is actually quite good.

Sorry for the long delay in reply. Crashed after I got home from work and just woke up, so I'll be answering as much as I can. And just to let all of you know, thank you for talking here, it actually allows me to work up the story in a way that you guys will enjoy.

Holy shit, Taylor as the power of Konan a ninja S class, a class that the number is less than twenty five in all the time in world made of badasses and in that league Konan is one of the strongest becoming the right hand of a organization made of S-Class so we talking about Taylor being a Parahuman with power that are in the same league as the powers of S9.

You could make a solid observation that she was right hand by default. Considering at the time of Akatsuki's creation, it started as a three man band, and with Yahiko dying, that left Nagato only trusting her, hence she got promoted by death.

I wonder if she'd consider joining the Guild? They specialize in taking on S-Class threats, so having one on there side seems like something they would want. Being a hero is what Taylor would want (and if means leaving the Trio and Winslow forever, well all the better), but I'm not really sure how the Konan thought process is going to affect her here.

The Guild is there, but there is the small problem of her physical (not mental) age.

And going off of that, are Taylor's powers Shard derived or did some Chakra stuff (or something else that doesn't cause a conflict seeking part of an alien to be stuck inside her head) cause her fusion with Konan?

No comment, as of yet. Though, Magery raised an interesting point in our talks, but that is on the back burner right now.

I forgot to answer at least to this. While Taynon will be accused by some of the more 'righteous' (re: hypocritical) of being a villain because of her beliefs and actions, she won't be a "villain" (in Worm sense) starting out. In fact, while she ascribes to the dream of being a hero as Taylor, she is morally grey (thanks Konan!) when it comes to how the role is to be fulfilled for the benefit of society. It is this greyness that will be a driving factor through a lot of her actions as she accrues both knowledge, but also the power necessary to fulfill her own dream.

Lung and Coil are possible for that, but nothing in Konan's arsenal that we've seen in canon is even remotely capable of dealing with the Endbringers. This is a point I've always had a problem with Kishimoto as a writer. The man honestly has zero creativity as a character writer, at least in fleshing out his characters outside of the mains (and even then that can be rather unoriginal), but it's especially more apparent in when he writes female characters, who are more background noise then they offer anything to the overall story outside of being blatant tropes. Of the main 'female' characters, Hinata is a yamato nadeshiko with a dose of shieldmaiden added to the mix. Sakura, well, Sakura's a gigantic mess and honestly offered nothing outside of being a mobile healing station for the mains, and some "Sasuke-kun's" to keep her relevent for the shippers. And Tsunade, I jokingly refer to as "Christmas Cake with a Mean Punch", cuz really, outside of a few scenes where she shouts, throws a punch, she offers nothing, I mean, when Konoha gets wrecked, Naruto pretty much does a "Step aside and let a man deal with this" on her.

Konan, honestly suffers from the fact that in Kishimoto's mind, she was already a dead woman walking, so why put any effort into imagining what she could actually do with her paper as a weapon outside of 1. Paper Clones, 2. Paper Bombs, and 3. Paper creations that can cut.

So, I'm going to make it a point to add things that could have been for Konan, at least in my humble estimation. So, in the interest of providing at least a glimpse of something in the near future, here's an idea that has been bandying back and forth between Magery, dealing with Taynon getting resources for her plans, that combines both her uniques abilities with paper, but also her chakra-sensing (which would have been largely useless in Worm-verse since no one has chakra).

What she does is she takes drugs recovered from a bust, and then sells them back in a henge (using a paper clone), then proceeds to track them using pulverized paper that has been imbued with her chakra as a homing beacon for her chakra sensing. From there, she has a choice to raid a drug den (and raid it of both money and more product to sell around using the same trick), or go even deeper and spread it out over months to where she has identified and marked several drug dens and other concentrations of illegal narcotics, and then launch a large-scale assault upon those points and cripple the drug market in Brockton Bay. Either way, this fits with her unique skillset, while at the same time earning credibility with the non-cape populace (not so much with the capes, who would look at such a casual dismissal of the legality of such a thing as horrifying, especially a certain cape with a legal background). But what it is, is effective, and it's the type of minimal risk, high reward you would expect from someone supposedly in charge of the intelligence of Akatsuki.

Anyways, on to the elephant in the room, Taynon providing chakra to others, I'll just place it here and now, it won't happen. The reasons pretty much distills down to the fact that Konan has no knowledge of the method in which such a thing could be bestowed, but furthermore, all she knows of the Ootsutsuki is the legends passed down about the Sage, and honestly, you can take those with a grain of salt considering I almost guarantee good ol Obito framed in a way that was biased towards his endgame. But I digress, it simply comes down to the fact that she doesn't have the means to do so, but it also comes down to another facet: If she had the ability, why would she bestow that upon others in the risk that it could be used against her? Just the knowledge that she could provide people with chakra would have the S9 on her like a fat kid on a twinkie, but it would damn near guarantee her a nice comfortable cell in the Birdcage because there is no way in hell that the Protectorate would allow Taynon would allow her to create an army of capes without her being under their control.

And even if, say, Cauldron gets involved because it would be huge for them in changing the balance of power, something that gamechanging would earn an visit from Simurgh. Do not pass go. Do no collect 200 dollars. You don't even get a get out of Brockton Bay free pass.

So yeah, as interesting as it sounds, nope.

Unsure of how sealing could work in Worm-verse considering a lot of the more major sealing abilities require time and for the target to be stationary in order to work. I'll look more into it, while Taynon may use fuinjutsu, I don't know if there is anything in her repertoire that will take an Endbringer to task.

And going down further, don't forget Terumi Mei, the only Kage to get internal narration about how scared she is fighting someone, and who actually is the Christmas Cake trope writ large.

I always kind thought that fuinjutsu was a bit like being a Tinker. Hours of prep time and then minutes of pants shitting terror as you use it in a combat scenario, hoping that it doesn't just decide to blow up in your face.

While I'm glad that my thoughts on the whole chakra thing was correct, one thing stood out to me that's odd.

Why do you think they would throw her in the birdcage because of this? At most, they would give her a really high Trump rating - since she technically is granting others powers - but unless she does something like use that army of capes to try and take over Brockton Bay, I'm not sure if they would go that far. It's more than likely that she'll be aknowledged as an independent force like New Wave, if anything.

And Taynon is a pragmatic ninja mercenary, so doing things to obviously rock the boat and bring negative attention to herself from the Heroes doesn't seem like the type of thing that she would do. So yeah, the thought of her instantly being branded as Birdcage-worthy because of this is odd.

Considering how much of an unholy terror Nilbog was, it's just a matter of possibility for Taynon. Imagine this, she has the ability to give permanent cape-powers to anyone she chooses. It's not a temporary power boost, it's a permanent power boost that bestows not only cape-powers, but also can turn anyone into super soldiers. That's infinitely worse than Nilbog, because while Nilbog has no real compunction to leave Ellisburg, Taynon has no such limitations. The second that genie is out of the bottle, everyone and their dog would want to control that ability, the ability to create armies of capes loyal to whomever (god have mercy on the world if the S9 sink their talons into her).

Logically, there are only two choices available to the Protectorate. Either she is under their control, and that ability is closely governed ( ie they get to choose who gets the gift), or she is tossed into the Birdcage. You don't let a sane, logical, Super Nilbog wander about, period.

Wouldn't a closer analogy be Teacher? He gave out powers and they didn't throw him into the birdcage until he started committing crimes. They were thinker powers and temporary but thinker powers are arguably much more dangerous.

That's the thing, Teacher's abilities were temporary, as in, once Teacher is removed from the field, that ability disappears after a set time.

The problem is, Taynon's ability granting is permanent. It may not be as powerful as say a Thinker, but you have to remember, that once Taynon has given chakra to someone, the only limit they have to their ability is both their nature type, and the amount of chakra they can hold. They have the ability to grow stronger as they use their chakra more and more. Sure, maybe year one they are throwing out C rank jutsus, but what happens if in a couple years they are using A- or S-ranked abilities like they are candies? What if Taynon is not only granting chakra, but is creating more of herself, a possible S-level threat? The Protectorate cannot afford to have something like that in their backyard unless they control it, and even then, it's one of those types of weapons that can be coopted with the right methods.

Imagine good ol Jack Slash turning Taynon to his side? He not only has an S-level threat, but he has an S-level threat that can create more of herself, with no limitations outside of the physical.

Or maybe the Yangban get lucky and nab her? Does anyone really want the CUI with that type of weapon in their arsenal?

Honestly, the only logical outcome would be to Birdcage (or kill) her regardless, because it's not that she's an S-level threat, but she can create MORE individual S-level threats with enough time.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if Taynon's intention is pure, the world is too messed up to allow such an ability to roam free.

I guess I can see your point, though I freely admit I'm the kind of person who'd go to war with the PRT and Protectorate the minute they tried that.
