A New Age (Warhammer 40,000)

[] The Fool: Born when humanity was at its apex, the Fool lived a charmed life, one that left him spoiled and self-centred, neglecting his duties in favour of indulging his every whim. By the time he saw that mankind had sown the seeds of its doom, it was too late. He died during the Old Night, desperately trying - and failing - to atone for his mistakes.

[] The Shaman: The first incarnation of the Anathema, who was born long before mankind touched the stars. They have seen countless Anathemas rise and fall, their triumphs and their failures. Above all, their insight and understanding of the Sea of Souls is unmatched, knowing ancient secrets that even the gods have forgotten.

fool for the vibes or shaman for that deep lore regarding the warp. Not sure who to pick

You messed up the brackets for this one

[X] The Pioneer: When mankind had risen to the stars, but was still young, the Pioneer led discovery on every front, seeking to see and learn everything the cosmos had to offer. She would have led mankind to a brighter age but the mysteries of the universe are as dangerous as they are alluring, and in her quest for knowledge, she died before her time.

For a new, brighter age.

Sub-optimal, but interesting.

One vote only. Approval voting is not in place for this one.

For the record as some seem to have mistakenly think so, the Fool is not the Emperor because he died during the Old Night so it means after him then it was the Emperor who came in.

I mean, based on the vote options presented it seems clear to me that we were further diverging from canon and the Emperor was not actually the same dude as was the original incarnation of the Anathema, and was not actually more than 40,000 years old.

I mean is there anything in the lore that actually says this though, explicitly? I always thought it was just fan theories(not bad ones tbc but just a theory)

Recent BL novels from the Siege of Terra series have been fairly clear on the idea, yes. The Emperor's name is Neoth, he is a Perpetual (whose form of immortality is unrelated to reincarnation despite some fan theories) who has been around since prehistoric times.

This is not applicable to A New Age. In this continuity, the Emperor was the previous incarnation of the Anathema, born on Terra during the Age of Strife, long after it had descended into barbarism and madness.
