[X] Soldier: You may despise the Imperial loyalists who wreak ruin and terror in the name of their corpse-god, but you agree with them on one thing, the Imperium will return someday. And you need to be ready. Therefore, you have enlisted as part of the Tau Auxiliary forces, to defend your world from invaders alongside the Fire Caste.
[X] Diplomat: You are working alongside the Tau Water Caste to convince the fearful and suspicious that the Tau truly do mean to help, to smooth the integration of your world into the Tau Empire. Under their tutelage, you have honed both a silver tongue and a strong sense of empathy, the ability to truly understand people and how they work.
-[x] Beastmen: Once, your people served the Imperium and were repaid for it with persecution and genocide. Only small pockets of your species now survive, scattered across the galaxy, feared and hated by humanity for differences you cannot control.
-[x] Gue'vesa: You are the child of Imperial defectors, who chose life with the Tau. And indeed, while you are a second-class citizen in the Tau Empire, it still is a better life than most of mankind can hope for in the Imperium. Accordingly, you also have many more options available to you, whether as a scholar, explorer, scientist or soldier.
-[X] A Better Tomorrow: You fervently believe that there is a better future out there, that the darkness cannot last forever. But you also believe that it is something that must be built, not awaited. There will be sacrifices to be made and much pain to come, but building something better is possible.
[X] Bengals: You almost look like a cat with the fur that covers your body, slitted eyes and ears sticking out of your head but you are far more dangerous. Your fangs can bite through anything and your claws can vicious things which can tear apart any foe. You may not be as strong as some of the other Beastfolk, but you are strong, with agility and speed to match.

Under their tutelage, you have honed both a silver tongue and a strong sense of empathy, the ability to truly understand people and how they work.
Your name is Durga.
You are one of the Beastfolk, a Bengal to be precise. Your lot in life was decided by the Imperium at birth, but fate was altered by the coming of the Tau Empire to your world.
Now, you are one of their diplomat, an aide to the Water Caste.
And today, you are here on a mission of mercy.
"The Tau are here to help us, Nandi," You say, a practised speech you have given many times before. "They mean no harm, they only seek to help us."
Your opposite number frowns, unimpressed. "Many have promised us aid before, claiming to be our friends, only to turn on us after we served their purpose," Bitterness bled into his voice. "Imperials, using us as soldiers, promising us better treatment if we fought their wars and then enslaving us when that was over."
Nandi is one of the Beastfolk as well, the leader of a tribe. Though unlike you, he is one of the Minotaurs, a massive old bull with thick grey fur and vicious scars marking his hide.
His single golden eye peers at you suspiciously, clearly on the verge of dismissing you as a young, naive girl.
But you've dealt with this sort of thing before.
"They have," You agreed. "I know all the stories, just like you do, Nandi. But the Tau are different. Did the Imperial ever keep their promises? Did they ever give you the food and medicine, the freedom and equality they promised you? The Tau have. They've helped our people, made life better for everyone on this planet."
Nandi grunted. "They did keep their promises. At first. But it was always a poisoned chalice. They would entice us, use our desperation against us to make pawns of us. But the instant we had shackled ourselves to them, they would drop all acts of kindness. The Tau are doing the same, can't you see that?"
Another diplomat may have been exasperated or annoyed by Nandi's obstinacy but not you.
You believed the same thing as he once did, after all. You were raised on these stories, of how humans could not be trusted for they believed you monsters. Your childhood is full of bitter memories, of begging on the street for food as humans passed by, uncaring. Of other children staring at you with fear and contempt, refusing to let you in, chasing you away with stones and cruel words.
And the rare occasion other children were kind to you, their parents would pull them away, sneering and snarling at you, a mere animal, for daring to come close.
You may not be as old as Nandi, but you understand his pain in the way only one of the Beastfolk can.
Nonetheless, you have to convince him to accept help. His tribe is one of the largest groups of Beastfolk on the planet, but they are ill and starving, and they desperately need the help the Tau are willing to give. The food, the doctors willing to cure their diseases, the builders waiting to improve their homes.
The condescension of the Tau can sometimes prickle, but you know them well enough by now to know that when they promise to help, they mean it.
Nandi may only see chains, but he is wrong.
You just have to convince him to at least try.
What argument will you put forward to him?
[ ] Focus on the practicalities. Nandi's tribe will benefit enormously from what the Tau are willing to give, and many who will otherwise die will live instead. Are their lives not worth the risk?
[ ] Focus on your kinship as both being part of the Beastfolk, who have known the sting of betrayal and prejudice. You of all people know what Imperial oppression is, and this is not it.

There will be a six-hour Moratorium.
Author's Note: Short for a first update, I know, but I'm busy at the moment and I didn't want this to be one of those quests that died immediately after chargen.

The Tau are far from perfect, but right now at least, they're not asking for much. We should emphasize that. This is about giving needed supplies, not gaining loyalty just yet.

I'm not feeling hot on being practical. This guy was just talking about how Imperuals in the past made promises and did give something but went back on it as soon as they could.

Same, we could promise him the moon and that won't ease his worries that they'll have the rug pulled out from under them and back where they were before.
We can instead tell him the Tau are of accepting and tolerant people, they wouldn't waste worrying about their xeno axularies's comfort if they were xenophobic, plently of races work under the Tau in high positions and the very fact that they let a Beastman working as their diplomat and scientist without bating an eye proves that.

Something like that seems like a good idea honestly. The Imps would never even consider a nonhuman diplomat (or even a beastmen diplomat). That alone shows they at least respect people a bit.

I'm leaning on this, he's not really being logical here, he is being emotional. so we appeal to his emotion.

[X] Write-in: Tolerance: The Imperium would never even consider an abhuman diplomat and would rather use them as just cannon fodders or working slaves whereas the Tau let other races to take roles other than military and workforce and even letting them to promote to higher positions while making sure they are well-fed and treated well, the very fact that they let a Beastman working as their diplomat without bating an eye shows that they at least respect them as people not as beasts.
