Round 1
Lesley: Magic Missile
Zombies: Distract (Your Zombies are already the only viable target)/Attack
R.O.U.S.: Filth
You cast Magic Missile as your zombies move into to attack. The single bolt of magic tears through one of the R.O.U.S. with little difficulty. (-1 R.O.U.S.)
The zombies and R.O.U.S. meanwhile have entered melee. As expected the R.O.U.S. out did your zombies in speed and agility, landing more hits than you had hoped. Despite what most people would think this fact worked against them, as the deadly filth and bleeding wounds they inflicted had no effect on their already dead opponents and to land those blows the rodents had to get within range of the zombie's, admittedly slow and clumsy, blows. Unlike the wound caused by the R.O.U.S., those are effective. (-1 R.O.U.S.)
Round Results: -2 R.O.U.S.
Zombie ATK Vs R.O.U.S. DEF 39 vs 24 Slight Victory
R.O.U.S. ATK VS Zombies DEF 51 VS 44+5 (Trait)= 49 Slight Victory, Damage adjusted due to stats and attack used = No damage
Round 2
Lesley: Magic Missile
Zombies: Distract (Your Zombies are already the only viable target)/Attack
R.O.U.S.: Filth/Skitter
You fire another Magic Missile into the the melee, ending another of the R.O.U.S. (-1 R.O.U.S.)
As the third R.O.U.S. falls the last two R.O.U.S. begin to focus more on avoiding your zombie's blows rather than actually attacking. This resulted in neither side landing any decisive hits. (No Damage)
Zombies ATK VS R.O.U.S. DEF 8 VS 86+10 (Skitter)= 96 Complete Failure
R.O.U.S. ATK VS Zombies DEF 33-10 (Skitter)= 23 VS 64+5 (Trait)= 69 Complete Failure
Round 3
Lesley: Magic Missile
Zombies: Distract (Your Zombies are already the only viable target)/Attack
R.O.U.S.: Filth/Skitter
With another cast of Magic Missile the two remaining R.O.U.S. become one. (-1 R.O.U.S.)
The last R.O.U.S. seeing its companion fall panics before dying to a zombie boot to the neck, (-1 R.O.U.S.)
Zombies ATK VS R.O.U.S. DEF 47 VS 27+10=37 (Skitter) Minor Victory
R.O.U.S. ATK VS Zombies DEF 85-10 (Skitter)=75 VS 37+5 (Trait)= 42 Complete Failure
You now have a choice, the second group Of R.O.U.S. is still close enough to catch before they escape, though this risks losses or you can let them go and start the cleanup/looting now.
Do you: (Pick 1)
[] Kill them all.
-[] Battle plan.
[] See to the loot. (Meager as it might be.)
Either way you at least know what you are up against now.
R.O.U.S.
These 3 to 4 foot long rodents began to appear once magic returned and while they are tougher than a normal animal of their size they show no other magical Traits.
HP 1
ATK 0.5
Attacks:
Attack
Filth: Once a battle R.O.U.S. can use the filth clinging to their bodies to try and poison their opponents.
Skitter: By focusing on their movement the R.O.U.S. gain an evasion bonus to their defence but their attack suffers for it. (-10 ATK, +10 DEF)
Flee: If at any time after the fifth round they are clearly losing the R.O.U.S. Might flee even if it was not a priority.
@veekie@Hannz@Navarque I meant your battle priorities. Like those make for this post.
Example:
Lesley: Magic Missile/Attack/Mend Zombies
Zombies: Distract/Attack/Defend
Closing the vote here.
The winner is
[X] Kill them all.
-[X] Lesley: Magic Missile/Mend Zombies/Attack
-[X] Zombies: Attack/Defend Number of voters: 3 Hannz, egexxx, ConfusedPotato
Your Magic Missile flies and a ROUS dies. (-1 R.O.U.S.)
Your zombies prove the adage about zombies being clumsy as several of them manage to literally trip over their own feet. The only good thing is this causes the R.O.U.S. to miss their targets as they drop under the blows.
Round Results: -1 R.O.U.S.
Zombie ATK Vs R.O.U.S. DEF 15 vs 96+10 (Skitter)-106 Utter Defeat
R.O.U.S. ATK VS Zombies DEF 64-10 (Skitter)=54 VS 55+5 (Trait)=60 Slight Defeat
Looking over that battle I have realized that I am going to have to limit the number of times each spell or ability can be used in a battle. Don't worry I will also allow you to state in the priorities how many times to use the spell/ability per turn. It may take awhile for me to figure out though.
Oh I think I should give you a heads up. The R.O.U.S. battle was a tutorial battle both in opponents as well as group sizes. Most enemies will come in groups of twenty and up.
