A Legacy of Chaos (A Ship of the Line story)

Yay! More of the only good eve fiction<3
Honestly I'm glad that was such a curbstomp, the Goa'uld could use a new boogie man in black of space. I am quite excited to see what humanity thinks of Xander and the concept of Capsuleers in general once they figure out just who and what came to their aid, to say nothing of the fact the Asgard also fought and held off three Ha'Tak in defense of Sol in plane view of anyone with a decent telescope given the amount of Cherenkov radiation blasting off everyone's shields. So everyone will swiftly know that not one but two alien species came to their aid, and the one they didn't know about was already in orbit.

Incredible stuff. A few typos and such but dang, you really set the stakes. That's at least one major economic center utterly destroyed, and at least one more heavily damaged - Not to mention an attack on a people who thought themselves invincible and may soon actually have a way to fight their attackers. It's going to be VICIOUS, especially with the proper PR campaign driving recruiting.

It might be quite awhile before they can even begin considering how to fight back as remember that even before this attack the US government was essentially on emergency life support after so many Senators, Congressmen and other officials especially in the judiciary and intelligence community all suddenly keeled over dead after Wolfram and Hart self-destructed after the 'Senior Partners' terrified of the Ascended Ancients now being aware of what they were up to elected to withdraw from this dimension and called in everything they'd done which involved various people dying as there souls were consumed by the trio of powerful demon lords.

With the government already half crippled just dealing with the aftermath of the attack - and stopping the firestorm that is now raging where New York once was, not to mention stopping another one forming in Boston - is going to be extremely challenging. Another thing with the damage to New York and Boston almost the entire eastern seaboard is now without electrical power as the parts of the grid that ran through those cities are gone so are some of the power stations. Which will make responding even more challenging, the US will certainly have to swallow its pride and ask the other nations for help.

Finally to properly fight back against the Goa'uld they will need Xander's help and access to his technology. Which will require uplifting Earth - all of it not just the badly wounded US though the global impact economically of New York's destruction won't be too bad as like it did after 9/11 the international stock exchange will simply work out of London for awhile - and that will take time given that Xander's tech comes from a civilization that is over twenty thousand years more advanced than Earth.

Indeed they do.

People are already very interested in Xander - since everyone has seen the space station over Neptune and the global media has been harping on about it for three days by this point - and when they find out about capsuleers that interest will only grow. Though at the same time I do foresee the whole infomorphic lifeform thing - and that by extension and despite appearances that Xander isn't technically speaking a human - which can make capsuleers come across as cold and indifferent - they're not its just there emotions are less powerful than normal human emotions and don't overpower them anywhere near as easily - creeping people out a bit.
