A Journey's Beginning (Mass Effect/Pokemon)

So, Lonely nature is +Atk -Def, which would be decent for a Gallade, but Lapis is female so that won't happen, so her special attack will likely still be higher. It would be funny for her to be physical focused though. Imagine Pixilate Mega Kick.

Codex - Ancient Legends
Ancient Legends
CulturePokemon
Pokemon have existed on Terra since the ages gone by of humanities most ancient and lost civilizations, and even further back beyond that point. It is difficult then, to understate the effects that these creatures have had on the development of mankind's ideologies, their cultures, and their beliefs.

The Church of Arceas, the Cult of VV, and the myth of the Eternal Master are all more modern examples of this influence, but the evidence of the intersection between human belief and the existence of Pokemon extends far further back.

To many of these ancient cultures, Rare and powerful Pokemon could very easily be seen as gods and other deities. In fact, even to this day there still exist Pokemon whose existence and capabilities are so rare and poorly understood that some people still proclaim them to be divinity.

And truthfully, there does exist a gap between humans and the powers of even some of the more common species of Pokemon. Equally, there exists another gap between those Pokemon whose abilities dwarf even that of the most powerful of Human inventions, and those rare and ancient Pokemon whose existences are writ into human legends. It is not the position of this Codex to definitively upon the Divinity of these Legendary beasts, for that would require comparing these Pokemon against a codified definition of Divinity, an act that this writer does not have the authority to do.
The Church of Arceus
Nominally considered the Primary Religion of Human Space, the church of Arceus is among the three oldest religions to have survived into modern times, and originated in the Sinnoh Region.

According to the Book of Shards, the holy book of the Church of Arceus -
In the beginning, there was naught but the churning of Chaos
Upon the Heart, when all came and all returned rose a Egg
Tumbled Down from the Darkness of Chaos, the Egg gave Rise to the Original One
Thus from itself the Original One did thrice make its son
The First borne Son looked upon the Chaos, in which nothing began and nothing ended. This Displeased the Eldest, who Roared in grief
A Grief so powerful that event became ordered, the Past lead to the Present which leads to the Future
The Second Borne Son looked upon the Chaos, in which all was folded upon itself evermore. This Displeased the Second Born, who Rent the Chaos in rage.
A Rage so mighty that that which is near stayed close, and that which was far stayed away.
It was thus that the Youngest So looked upon the creations of it's brothers, and despaired.
For while Time flowed forward unto the future, and space expanded unto infinity, that which was chaos was no more.
In sorrow the Youngest lashed out at its siblings, Forcing itself upon its siblings creations.
The Original One saw the actions of the Youngest, and while it understood its youngest sons sorrow, it could not allow fighting between the three, for upon forcing itself upon the creations of the Eldest and Second Borne, it gave rise to that which was inherently antithetical to the Sibling's creation
Thus, with a heavy heart, the Original One used it's thousand arms to separate the brothers, placing each within a realm of their own, from which the shadows of their power could be seen upon that which was once chaos.

That is how the Creation Myth ends, with the holy text from there transitioning into a series of Psalms venerating each of the four primary Deities of the Relgion.
Arceus, known as the Original One, from which all that exists comes
Dialga, known as the Eldest Son, who the book states created time
Palkia, known as the Second Borne, who the book states created space
and Giratina, known as the Youngest Son, who the book states created that which cannot exist in the world, or as modern believers say, antimatter

Now, according to the Church, the Book of Shards was written by Arceus itself, the writings having been unearthed on impossibly ancient plates that were scattered across the Sinnoh Region, before being collected and translated by ancient scholars.

The Cult of VV
The Cult of VV is a relatively modern religious order, whose existence can only be tracked back roughly three hundred years, and whom deify the relatively common Pokemon known as Eevee.

Unfortunately, the Cult of VV is a Mystery Cult, whose practices and decrees are nearly completely unknown. While not proof in and of itself, there have been a number of mysterious incidents involving those who were looking into the Cult, many of whom either disappeared, joined the cult and cut off all ties with previous connections, or died.

What little is known, is that the Cult believes that the Pokemon Eevee is very important to discovering the nature of Types, and how Pokemon Moves work. There have even been rare reportings of individuals with connections to the Cult appearing to have the ability to use Pokemon moves, however these reports have not been authenticated.

.................................................................................

Let's be honest, who wouldn't consider joining an eevee cult? The power of adorable and cuddles is strong with this one.
But I get the feeling they're closer to being like Kyubey then I would feel comfortable with.

Well considering i always have an Eevee in my party in every Pokemon game i play...perhaps i am already in that cult?

So I did some looking and found these Pokemon Space Ship designs, now some are a bit silly but I figured that I'd post them here for everyone to see and our lovely GM to possibly use as a base for human warships.

I will admit that I do like those ship designs, a couple of them work just fine (Kingdra, Cutiefly, and Kommo-o) work just fine, and a few need some minor changes (Remove the scythe from the Absol, remove the long wings from the Floette, and remove the arcing electricity from the Raichu) but the Marowak and the Masquerain are just... those do not work.

It's definitely canon at this point that there is some group out there whose Flagship is that Houndoom design, but that is the kind of sick aesthetic that the best Criminal Organizations in the Pokemon Universe work with.

Also I am ignoring all the text on there, because there really aren't that many different major engine types, and the Kalosian Ultimate Weapon has most certainly NOT been transformed into an engine. It's also no longer on the surface of Terra, but that is the kind of thing that is classified to the point of not getting a Codex entry.

Naturally, at the very least they make for good images for a codex or two.

The Raichu and the Flowette with the modifications I mentioned definitely exist to some degree as civilian space ships. I might have a Cutiefly class ship be the one that was destroyed under mysterious circumstances a month or so ago in story, haven't made a decision there.

In vague otherness - I have been somewhat idly looking around for any decently designed Fakemon to potentially pad things out with a little, either as simply Pokemon that are from regions that haven't been explored in games, or as species that follow one of the interesting side-effects of Terraforming, where entirely new species of Pokemon will begin to appear roughly half-way through the Terra-forming process.

so far I found a relatively okay set of Pokemon from an apparently abandoned project called Pokemon Sanki, and the designs of Pokemon Yeah/Nah which have some of the best designs I've seen so far.

Haha those are great. I especially like the Absol, Kingdra and Kommo ones. Though the Floette one feels like a ship design that would fit in one of the alien ship designs in Stellaris.

Well to be fair it's not like every ship a race makes has to follow the same Aesthetic design, I can imagine that there are those who like to change things up a bit even if the underlying ship is the same.

Plus lets be honest with how the Pokemon world society works I can imagine people getting a ship designed to look like their favorite Pokemon.

Riiiiigggghhhtt

I still haven't managed to get Nettally to work on my new computer... for reasons that I still can't figure out.

If someone with the ability to tally up preference voting could do so, that would be greatly appreciated.

A Meeting with a Mysterious Stranger
--Earlier--
Ashton stands a few paces in front of you, his stance tight and rigid, with a clearly angry look on his face. Even so, the boy has his hand extended out to you, palm open in order to shake yours. "Good... Fight..." The boy grumbles out, his words clipped and short. "... I guess."

The older boy's grip is tight and very firm, but he isn't trying to crush your hand. He gives two solid shakes before stepping back. The thought of refusing your opponent's offer of a handshake never even occurred to you. "It was a good fight." You respond with a nod.

Already the young man seems less angry than he was at the end of the battle, and he crosses his arms, scoffing as he looks down his nose at you. "Of course, don't think that this is over, Paige." Ashton quips, the start of a smirk rising to his face. "You winning was beginner's luck, so don't think that just because you managed to beat me here that aren't any less of a loser, got it. You might have won this battle, but that isn't going to repeat itself. Tempest is going to grow stronger than you can possibly imagine, so the next time that we battle, you are going down."

Clap, clap, clap.

As one, the two of you turn towards the sound of... clapping?

There is someone standing about a dozen and a half feet away, casually leaning against the fence that runs along the side of the lane separating the city from the farmlands that the Manor sits on. He's tall, taller than you and still head and shoulders taller than Ashton. He's pale, with silky black hair and eyes... his eyes are so red that they seem to almost glow, even in the afternoon light.

<That wasn't a terrible battle, at least for beginners.>(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) There was something about the stranger... something unnerving, but you can't put your finger on exactly what it is that unsettles you. <You. Ashton was it(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)? You remind me of someone I used to know. Always pushing(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) for attacks and moves that(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) deal as much damage as possible, withou(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)t thinking of how affecting your opponents abilities can benefit you(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .).>

"Hey!" Ashton cries out, "Moves like that are useless."

<Says the young man who lost because he wasn't able to accuratel(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)y hit his opponent. You did have the start of the right idea however. Using rock(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) throw to try and hit as many of the duplicates was no(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)t a bad idea. However, you should have had your Larvitar creates as large of a rock as possibl(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)e in front of it, and then used Tackle on the rock itself in order to hit as large a area with the rock shards as possible.(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)>

Ashton doesn't immediately respond, instead slowly nodding as he thinks over what was being explained to him. Next, the stranger turns to you, his eyes almost gleaming as he stares at the Ralts laying on your shoulder.

Next, the stranger turns to you, his eyes almost gleaming as he looks at the Ralts on your shoulder. <And you are... Paige, was it?>(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) The stranger tilted his head, eyes almost flashing. <It's not common to see a rarely colored Pokemon for a starter. Especially one so young. You do right by her.>(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) You almost want to bristle at the man, but before you have a chance, he continues. <As for my advice to the two of you, the boy is right. You wo(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)n today, but that victory was more luck than skill. You had a strategy, and one that worked, but it was one that cared little for the decisions of you(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)r opponent. For now, with Pokemon as young and early in their development as your own, that is not a problem. However, you mean to challeng(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)e the gym league, do you not? Of course, in addition you have your friend there, who as she grows will be able to give ideas and assistance of he(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)r own, so just take things one step at a time, and you both shall grow into wonderful trainers.>(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)

The man turns away from you, stepping close to Ashton for a moment, and all that you can see is that he held out both hands, something glimmering in each. With slow, careful hands, the boy reached out and grabbed hold of something in the stranger's hand, and placed it into a pocket. The man nods to Ashton, and turns back to you again.

<And naturally, I would be completely remiss if I didn't give a little boon out to young trainers like yourselves with such high potential.>(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .) Reaching into his pocket, the stranger pulls out a pair of small objects, placing one in each palm as he holds them out to you. The first is a tiny jewel, perfectly round and shimmering with what almost looks like an inner light in his right hand. The second object is a tiny purplish gem shaped like three connected diamonds. <Choose one, either is yours.>(. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .)

If this is a megastone for mega gardevoir I'll be happy.

The first is a tiny jewel, perfectly round and shimmering with what almost looks like an inner light in his right hand.
That looks like a mega stone?
Gardevoirite, for the 165 Special Attack Mega Gardevoir which ALSO turns Normal type moves to Fairy so you can Hyper Beam Master Spark.
The second object is a tiny purplish gem shaped like three connected diamonds
And thats a Z-Crystal for a specific species(generic type crystals are single diamonds), but since it doesn't match any of the existing ones I guess its for the Gardevoir line as well.
Unlocks a special move involving a dance sequence.

[X][Gift] A small round jewel

For some reason, I feel like this guy is talking like Snape from the Harry Potter movies.(Alan Rickman)

[X][Gift] A small round jewel

I think this might be Gardevoirite.
The other is a z crystal?
