Okay, so, our powers allow for some really fun investigation/stealth stuff. Playing a sneaky detective with shapeshifting powers sounds neat. Social stuff we can just be okay at or get better later (and intimidation should not usually be a problem given the power set). I also like the name Chimera and doing good as a motivation. For civilian name, we should definitely have one, but with no memories, well, Jane as a Jane Doe reference seems good to me.

I do like being a trauma-inducing friendly neighborhood hero. Not gonna be the strongest ever in a straigfht fight, but we do have powers to compensate for that. My hope is that we end up playing somewhere along the lines of Corvo Attano: Body Horror Edition.

Due to the way the system (which is Mutants and Masterminds, looking at it) works, we'll be pretty good at fighting whichever of these we pick, since we have 50 points to use for whatever we like within our power's scope. If we pick the fighting option, we'll need to use less of those 50 points to hit basic competence, but 50 is enough we'll be able to be highly effective even without those extra points.

Which is why I'm very much on board with stealth/investigation stuff.

This is an accurate description of the mechanics at play.
 
I'm familiar with the system, yeah. I've actually got a really good stealth power worked up that we could probably use as our typical stealth package, in fact, but as Alex requested that we leave the power design to them, I'll leave off from clogging up the thread with it :p

Totally fair, just clarifying for anyone not familiar with the system that with 50 points available to distribute, and high Stamina as well, we're a very dangerous combatant no matter which options we pick.

And I think we can suggest specific ways to use our powers when they come up, just not, like, character making stuff beyond the basics (the existing power and current votes).

Just to clarify, I meant that for the original power (before I knew it was a variable one) if you want to propose how you want to build a specific power that you want to use then go ahead.

Ah, fair enough!

In that case, while this does need a little adjustment since it doesn't perfectly suit Chimera, this is something I've used on an old chartacter of mine.
Aura Blending [2] - Training, Magical
Concealment 8 [16]
Visual Concealment [8]
Auditory Concealment [2]
Mental Concealment [4]
Scent Concealment [2]
Resistible (Will) [-8]
Partial [-4]
Blending [-2]
If we remove the mental components of it, it remains an extremely cheap, beatable but still very good power. Resistible is particularly good (even if we're not using Will for it) because resistances only apply if the target you're hiding from is actively looking for you. It encourages you to play like a ghost, as you're far stronger if the enemy doesn't know you're there in the first place.

That's interesting. How to do it with shapeshifting powers is a nice little puzzle...probably some sort of 'don't notice me' pheromone? That actually might even work on Mental senses, since it cuts them off at the source.

Looks good, but you'd have to explain how it would be resisted.

If it's pheromones, resisting with either Fortitude or Will might make sense.
