40K - Chronicles of The Koronus Expanse

Station revealed
Tangs of Ozone, traces of rot, of humans, of scared oils and machines scent the air as you walk into your bridge

"Lord-Capitan on Bridge" announces on of the ratings to First Officer Grimgoyle as you approach.

"Lord-Capitan Handeln, all is well, We are approaching the first station in orbit of

[ ] Write-in Name the system

Between the 5th and 6th planetary bodies of the system.

It has been three days since the station's initial detection and you are now on final approach.

From this distance, the station has no lifesigns or indicators of power.
It is dark and cold. The station shows only on scans.

This close the data on the station as been refined

It is three freighter hulls of Xeno make, held together with massive chains, a clear sign of Strixis construction.

[ ] Explore another planet
[ ] Send an expedition to the station.

Ok so, do we actualy have anything to trade? As this is the first encounter I'm guessing no?
If we have nothing to trade, just move along. Else open up trade, we a rogue trader and trading with xenos is in our rights.
The Stryxis are Scavengers and obsessive hoarders, they possess a wealth of technology stolen and bartered from countless intelligent races.
The Stryxis will trade with almost anyone, Human or xenos but kill Eldar any chance they get.

My vote would depend on trade goods tho.

[X] System: Genesis

[X] Send an expedition to the station.

An apparently dead stryxis station could be worth a look.

I must not have made it clear enough, the station is derelict - abandoned.

Strixis Station - Derelict
Derelict Strixis Station
Armour: 10
Hull Integrity: 23

Ship stores: 182 Days remain

The Strixis Station is derelict and empty of life.
But not of material goods.

Containers upon containers upon containers line the stations interiors , stretching for kilometres
There is just barely enough space to walk through the lines, and the hulls are almost bursting with cargo.

Uncatalogued, Unlabeled.
from what has been seen so far, all Xeno in nature including the containers.
Eldar coffers, Ork boxes. opaque crystal containers that are seeming to be locked. Ominous black metal with unsettling glyphs.

This is a treasure trove of Xeno artifacts. but it would take years to uncover it all, and catalog it into a useful form for sale

The crew are unsetteled by the sight of some of these Xeno's and Lord-Captain Handeln must calm them
Ordinary Command (28 + 10) vs 86 - Failure

The crew refuse to investigate any of the containers marked with the glyphs, and crew morale takes a hit to 98.

Sample the items

[ ] open Eldar coffers
[ ] open Crystal coffers
[ ] open Ork boxes
[ ] RT only - Open the Glyph marked boxes.

[ ] Explore another planet.
[ ] Leave the system
- [ ] Return to Footfall
- [ ] Explore another system
- [ ] Leave the Expanse and Return to Port Wonder

So i'm going to go out on a limb here and guess these are Necron containers?
So what are the chances a nat 100 roll on this option gives us a Necron Tesseract Labyrinth? (jokes that would be so stupidly OP that it will break the quest)

Ehhh from my point of view the options almost look like

1.Easy difficulty: [ ] open Ork boxes
2.Medium difficulty: [ ] open Crystal coffers (ehh I have to ask tho i'm not expecting an answer, this is Vespid (Tau ally/crystal tech)?
3.Hard difficulty: [ ] open Eldar coffers
4.Warhammer 40k difficulty: [ ] RT only - Open the Glyph marked boxes.

[ ] Explore another planet.
[ ] Leave the system
- [ ] Return to Footfall
- [ ] Explore another system
- [ ] Leave the Expanse and Return to Port Wonder

Well I'm all for opening some boxes, and the results of that would alter my next choice.
Get good loot and nothing goes wrong? -> [ ] Explore another planet.
Things go horribly wrong with a super low roll? -> [ ] Return to Footfall
Get a nat100 and get a galaxy sized target on your back? -> [ ] Leave the Expanse and Return to Port Wonder

I'm imagining in the ork crate its probably going to be weapons

Eldar coffers either weapons, treasure,.and maybe soul stones

If it's soulstones, they can be used as a "don't kill us" card if we hand them over. Tho don't trade em back, the arrogant Eldar will probably say something like. " You would use the souls of my people as tradegoods?!

Agreed on just handing the soul stones over instead of trading them I'd rather not piss off whatever Eldar we come across unless we are sure we can beat them before they flee
