40K - Chronicles of The Koronus Expanse

Genesys 4
The Crucible slides into orbit around this world
Auspexes focused on drinking in the immense amount of information required to form a detailed picture of the world

This is a low gravity world, with mass volcanic activity.
This has resulted in a run-away greenhouse effect, the surface temperatures are above the limit of unaided survivability
there are some pockets of industrial and oramental minerals that could... perhaps... be mined
But it would be quite an investment to setup a colony here.
and they would quickly be exhausted.
There are bacterium present in the air, that seem to be keeping it breathable by humans

Just these 4 left, hope we have enough supplies to survey them before we need to leave.]
We should also maybe start discussing if we want to sell the info on this system or colonize it ourselves.

As for a plan for this turn, we just did Genesis 4 so lets just move to the next world, not that i'm expecting anything from a gas giant.

-[X] Explore another planet.

Genesys 5
Ship stores: 105 Days remain

[X] Plan: Next stop on the list
-[X] Explore another planet.

The Crucible flies thru the system, scanning the gas giant and it's small moon

There is nothing of economic worth found upon the moon.
The gas giant has immense reserves of plasma fuel.
if your lighters or ship were equipped with plasma scoops

Nice, thanks for the update!

only one planet + its moon left and we got more than a 100days supplies left!

Genesis System 6

Explore these and then, well, do we try and colonize on the cheap or do we sell?

[X] Plan finish up, drop beacon and go sell our loot.

Unless we hit a nat100 on the last planet and find an STC i'm gonna go with the next option also.

The Crucible spends several days at cruising, auspexes drinking in the data from the worlds ahead.

Being so small, the moon is scanned as well.

some economically sensible deposits are found for exploitation are found, but nothing further.

My reasoning:
Drop the beacon and go to Footfall, go to the Mechanicus temple there and sell the system.
Buy Ships/supplies/crew/gear.
Profit.

Pretty sure there's an asteroid cluster we missed investigating but I think we did a good job.

Nice update 👍
Do we know for sure that the red and green gems are Necron?
Also, did I miss anything in the above sections?

I hope we found enough stuff to upgrade our ship and buy an escort, I'm pretty sure the Mechanicus will be happy with us!

You talking about these? - Genesys System 2-1 & 2-2 - Worthless space rocks

The Moons of Genesys 2 are quickly and easily explored...

and found to be worthless.

they are stony asteroids captured by Genesys 2 when it formed.
perhaps you could use one to anchor a port to, but others - floating rocks in space.

I believe I filled that in during the crossing back and forth.

The gems are not Necron in origin. You know that they come from a humanoid civilization.
Their creators were called Cain and Able from the Green and Red planets respectively.
Old anime fans may be killing themselves at this point...

--[X] The Adeptus Mechanicus temple of Altar-Templum-Calixis-Ext-17

Bella Nimrynvant prepares her ritual of divination for the passage to foot fall
First purified oils of many colors are poured into a bowl
exposed to the Lidless stare to sensitize them to the current conditions of the warp.
drawing a dagger made from the prow of the Crucible, a finger is pierced
a single drop of blood falling into the prepare oils.

Slowly an impression of the warp, and route takes form.

Bella stops the ritual here.

"Lord-Captain. I cannot recommend breaching the immiterial at this time.
A warp storm is raging around us currently, and would send us badly off course.

Fair enough. Thanks for running it as long as you did, I certainly enjoyed it.
And being lost/delayed/time-traveled/destroyed/eaten-by-demonic-gribblies/etc in the Warp as an ending is definitely setting appropriate 🤣
