Yeah I think we should go for Supercomputer Analysis, then draw it's attention with a lot of ranged firepower.

Kim is a melee specialist good at breaking through defenses, but lacks particular defenses. Probably should be held back a bit until we draw it closer and she can punch holes in it's defense for our ranged units to exploit. Unfortunately we don't know anything about her powers.

Tang Ying can fire ALL THE DAKKA. He probably should unless there's collateral damage that might result on the outpost. Good way to get the enemy's attention.

We meanwhile contribute a nice citadel to our allies against any ranged retaliation, though we don't know it's type yet.

So it looks like we should take a formation of Enemy - Johnathan/Kim - Tang Ying, then both Johnathan and Tang Ying unleash a powerful ranged barrage to get it's attention, while running the supercomputer. Kim will be sharing our defenses until it's close enough for her to charge.

I'm thinking swap for the sword and pistol before we engage tang-ying can stay back but Kim might need help. All things considered, we're so green we smell like shamrock shit. Even if its just another body to distract with Kim's going to need some help.

Personally that doesn't make much sense to me. From what we know it a) likes to fight at range and b) we're not the best at melee anyways, considering our unit is speced for ranged support. Also Wrath is probably what we want to use if Kim needs support, which we can do at range anyways.

Kim probably should be using the spear. The extra range/precession would give her more safety in engagement, and the fact that the thing has lava as blood means flaming gloves are a bad idea, and the range means if Qarin starts bleeding, it's less likely to bleed all over Kim and burn her.

Thinking about it more ideally I would have Kim using spear as melee, with Tang firing railgun rounds at legs/arms and Johnathon throwing Wraths to attempt to knock Qarin down. Unfortunately we don't have the spear or railgun equipped right now.

Ideally this is what I hope would happen

Turn 1) Kim switches to spear, Tang and Johnathon keeps Qarin busy/away
Turn 2) Kim moves up to melee and uses the spear to try and contain Qarin. Johnathon continues ranged harass while Tang backs up and switches to Raigun
Turn 3) Tang fires with railgun, Johnathon throws an empowered wrath. Qarin flips over and the Calvary arrives by falling on it's head or something.

Obviously this isn't what actually would happen, as it assumes Qarin is just standing there waiting for us to do stuff. I'm also don't like having Kim out changing weapons for the first turn cause that means if Qarin charges in that time space we would be at a pretty big disadvantage.

What I think we should actually do is this

Turn 1) Kim runs interference for Johnathon and Tang to prevent Qarin from charging us, with a focus on pushing Qarin back and avoiding a straight up brawl. Johnathon sets up ranged fire for harass while Tang bounces backward and switches to rail gun

Turn 2) Kim continues to cover the outpost/us, Tang fires with the rail gun and we attempt to time a Wrath to hit at similar time to knock Qarin over.

Turn 3) Calvary arrives. Kim gets space to pull back if necessary. Otherwise more of the same

Obviously if Qarin does something ridiculous in the first two turns the plan should change.

Probably should run the supercomputer analysis and change up the plan according to that information and what Qarin decided to do.

Most concerned about Qarin having some melee ability it never showed off in it's last fight where it was more running then fighting, and train wrecks Kim.

Alright, I see a lot of people voting to attack Qarin, but no one suggesting using our AT Powers. Or, uh, Ghazali powers.

This is, to put it lightly, kinda stupid. Not least of all because Qarin is an Enemy, and as such has his own Ghazali field. Which means we cannot damage him unless we can breach it. Which is not likely unless we use Siege.

Which no one is doing.

Plan for Round 1:

Johnathan:
  • Activate Al-Haram. Not because Qarin has blast or environmental fuckery skills, afaik, but because it'll reduce the collateral from missing our shots and we really aren't looking for collateral in this situation.
  • Use Siege, for about, hm, five points of our Ghazali score. We need to lower Qarin's ability to use Soul Might, or all our attacks will bounce.
  • Fire 240 CM Mark 3 Assault Rifle on Qarin.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction
Kim:
  • Use Siege, two points.
  • Refit to Pilebunker Spear.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Tang Ying:
  • Use Siege, one point.
  • Fire Gatling Cannon on Qarin.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Refit Trucks:
  • Save 2 Stamina for a reaction.
Outpost Wamala:
  • Secondary Supercomputer Analysis (2 Resource)
Plan for Round 2 (subject to change based on enemy action):

John:
  • Adjust Siege based on effectiveness of attacks/Supercomputer results.
  • Fire 240 CM Mark 3 Assault Rifle on Qarin.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Kim:
  • Stop devoting Stamina/Ghazali to Siege
  • Move to Close Range.
  • Attack Qarin with Pilebunker Spear.
Tang Ying
  • Compensate Ghazali usage of Siege to make up for Kim.
  • Fire Gatling Cannon on Qarin.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Refit Trucks:
  • Do nothing.
Outpost Wamala:
  • Subject to change based on Enemy action.
Plan for Round 3 (subject to change based on enemy action):

Johnathan:
  • Sustain Siege.
  • Fire 240 CM Mark 3 Assault Rifle on Qarin.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Kim:
  • Attack Qarin with Pilebunker Spear.
  • Attack Qarin with Pilebunker Spear.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Tang Ying:
  • Sustain Siege.
  • Fire Gatling Cannon on Qarin.
  • Save 1 Stamina for a reaction.
Trucks:
  • Do nothing.
Outpost Wamala:
  • Subject to change based on Enemy action.
Umar Ahmed:
  • Shyly apologize for not being here earlier.
  • No, really, I'm really sorry about that.
  • Look, really, I-okay, yes, alright, I'll focus on being the cavalry.
  • Sparkle like a man out of a shoujo manga because god dammit man why are you so pretty.
Notes:
  • Don't you dare say we should use orbital bombardment. Not only is it only available at turn 3, it also causes collateral we really don't need and means we can't use any of our other Resource Options.
  • We may have to end up using Insha'Allah at some point if Qarin starts shooting lava globs at Outpost Wamala. If we do, we should focus Kim and Tang Ying on keeping Qarin's attention off of John, because it'll use up all our Stamina, meaning we can't do reaction actions. Like dodging.

[X] Plan Deku

The two are basically the same T1 anyway, and the Spear is probably a better weapon right now so it makes sense to refit. Deku's more explicitly spells out what we do, but I'm having trouble finding post(s) that explain the mechanics of the system so I'm not really sure exactly what's optimal.

[X] Plan Deku

Not familiar enough with the system to propose more than general directions personally, alas.

[ x] Plan Deku

Honestly I assumed that whatever Ghazali stuff necessary to break through would have been applied anyways, and if not well it would make sense for a bunch of green pilots to forget it thematically. Deku has more detail and is basically the same anyways.

So, due to the impromptu hiatus and the fact that I manually ported the story posts instead of waiting for the thread import tool, I've gone ahead and made a new thread for Hathahul Nahayah. It will hopefully be better maintained and neater than this one.

Also there's an update.

Follow this link to reach it and start voting.

(I apologize sincerely for the unannounced hiatus and also for delaying so long in posting the notice in this thread. I really should have done it earlier, I forgot to when I was making the new thread and then was on my phone for the vast majority of the day. But it's up now, soooooo no harm done?

Also holy shit was that a lot of weekends. I am terrible at time estimates.)
