*grumble grumble*Back in my day, all you could do was make your gun shoot faster....
And be a complete and utter dick to teammates. :V

For those who don't know Limbo this:
[] " this sounds like a limbo plan, the last limbo plan I got caught up in had me glued the dojo wall for 6 hours. They had to cut out the wall panel and pay some children from cetus to spend 4 hours cutting me out with modified mining lasers."
Is about roughly accurate to what a trolling Limbo can do to teammates. Well not literally, but the same level of frustration. :V

Make no mistake, Limbo is a great frame to have as support. But like Loki and Switch Teleport BOY can it be frustrating if the player is a dick.

[X]What the hell is happening?
-[X] Are you the reason Stalker is here as well?
-[X] What does Caeli have to do with this?
[X] ... would, would that even work?

[X] ... would, would that even work?
-[X] I mean, if we change the future that would mean I would never exist or at least never have a chance to go back in time to change the future. But if we never change the future then that would mean I would end right back oh no I've gone crosseyed.

Except we know her plan. It's expose magic, which gets Negi turned into a ferret-thing and creates mass chaos. Stopping the Orokin empire is pointless because it doesn't form for thousands upon thousands of years from now. You'd have to kill most of humanity in the vague hope you kill the genetic ancestors of the Orokin
That's backwards. The farther back you go the easier it should be to derail future events, not harder. So, no, you would not have to do that.

provided the timeline doesn't go 'History abhors a paradox'
Weren't you the one saying this would just result in splitting off a new parallel?

Massive chaos initially? Well, that's definitely something unprecedented in events that change society for the better. Might as well never change anything at all if that's your argument. And I don't care if Negi gets turned into a ferret. Plus, those arguments are assuming Chao is even using her canon plan, which was not to deal with the Orokin, so it's entirely possible this plan is different.

If we actually succeed, I was going off the multiple problems with time travel?

The bigger issue is the Orokin are so far off from the present time it'd be like going back to ancient Egypt to ensure WW2 never happens. How would you know your actions didn't cause it to happen? Especially when it's operating off multiverse theory so you might not even get to see the fruits of your labour if you travel forward in time since you aren't actually traveling forward in time.

...The hell is your argument? How does "Global chaos from exposing magic as real and that Mars is actually populated, potentially leading to the deaths of thousands or millions" means never do anything ever?

Also, the Orokin are a society. The Tenno are Orokin and there are millions of them. The Corpus are Orokin and there are billions of them. You'd have to wipe out the ancestors of billions of people to maybe just maybe ensure a society never develops into the Orokin. The entire solar system was colonized when the Orokin came to power, there were people who lived long enough on Mars they didn't even know space travel was possible before the Orokin started harvesting them.

Even if the plan isn't to expose magic the sheer scale of what needs to be achieved is simply beyond us unless we go full-on genocide.

(feel free to add these arguments in the vote (well, the ones not based on OOC knowledge I mean))

Pretty much. You think masses of people don't die when, for example, a tyrant is overthrown? Doesn't mean it's not worth doing.

EDIT: Causing chaos and death is a negative against a plan, but even killing hundreds of thousands of people isn't enough to say it's not a change that should be made. Otherwise, the USA would still have slavery. You can't say "It's automatically not worth it" you have to ask "Is it worth it?" The answer may be yes. So, the question is: How many human lives would be saved or drastically improved by preventing the rise and fall of the Orokin?

Again, that's a nonsense argument. There's absolutely no reason that would be a prerequisite to prevent a society from forming, to the point where I can't see why you think it is. Provided there's no predestination paradox, you could prevent the USA from forming by playing with the life of a single person at multiple points in time, there's no reason the Orokin should be different just because they encompass a larger area.

Hell, I could change the face of the entire modern world just by going back in time and making the ancient Greeks take their steam engine invention more seriously. No genocide required, but we'd be left with something unrecognizable.

Almost. They had some serious issues that prevented their extremely primitive attempts from taking off, but they were working with steam technology at one point.
fuel, materials sciences and need. They simply lacked the fuel to supply large scale adoption of steam engines and even then those engines would have been rather weak since they lacked the metallurgy to get much out of it without it breaking.

as for need that was more with the romans who had enough slave labor that there was no drive to create machines to do the work instead.

[X] Stop. Stop. Timeout. First of all, what is going on here? Tell me not like Nova the PTSD victim but Nova the millennia-old warrior monk.
-[X] Did you guys bring me here? Is that how the Stalker and Sentient came along? What happened to my ship? My Cephalon? My Gear? My Pets?
-[X] What about Caeli? Is she involved? She's a sister Tenno and must have a warframe nearby. Was she the one who organized this?
[X] Is stopping the Orokin Empire from appearing even possible? They must not form for thousands, maybe tens of thousands of years. It was already ancient when I was just a kid, its origin a myth.

I'm pretty sure it's considered genocide if you cause the deaths of millions of people to stop something from happening tens of thousands of years into the future. Especially when you don't know doing it will even have an affect on changing that event seeing as how we don't even know how the Orokin empire even started.

Again, that's a nonsense argument. There's absolutely no reason that would be a prerequisite to prevent a society from forming, to the point where I can't see why you think it is. How is it a nonsense argument when we literally have no idea how the Orokin came to be? It is so far off into the future and its start so shrouded in mystery you would have better luck stopping Rome's founding by slapping Virgil upside the head every time he tries to write the Aeneid, hundreds and hundreds of years AFTER the founding of Rome. There is practically nothing you can do, outside of maybe killing enough people you MAYBE kill the closest genetic ancestors to the Orokin.

Hell, the chaos caused by Chao's original plan is just that, killing millions of people for the vague hope it makes the future better despite the repercussions being completely unforeseeable. It's far more likely anything goes like this:

Because you have literally no idea how the Orokin came to be, you're hardly an expert in what would be required to prevent them from forming, which makes your bold assertions that it can only be done one way rather weightless.

Let's hear Chao's plan and then we'll know if there's another option.

Also, you're misunderstanding the meaning of the term genocide, unless you're specifically applying it to the Orokin culture and saying preventive time travel counts, but that's really neither here nor there.

I hope you don't mind if I copied this menosay, I rather liked it. I also l would like to say that timetravel manipulation of history for this purpose is beyond stupid. It never works out the way you think.

Wait, are you saying steampunk ancient greeks were almost a thing? *takes notes for his other quest*
It was basically a sphere filled with water with several spikes coming out that point parallel to the surface of the sphere with holes on the ends. They would put it over a fire so the water inside would boil and the steam inside would escape causing the device to spin. It was basically a toy. They knew steam was a potential source of power but lacked any of the actual tech to make it useful or the metalurgical skills to make such a device.

This thing.

Given I copied it from the guy above me I've got no complaints, plus this is a quest I can't think of any good reasons for anyone to grip about more people voting for the same thing they are.
