[X] [action] Explain things to Asuna. Takahata did say he'd keep the child safe, right?

"I see. It's true that I know Asuna well. So, what do you want to know? I'll tell you unless it's something that isn't mine to say."

You take a sip of your tea before adding a sugar.

"Um… you… would you happen to know where I could find a nearby dragon? It's probably less than a day away if one can fly."

There is a moment of silence where mr. Takahata's smile lies frozen on his face, then he removes his glasses and massages his temples before putting them back.
"What did I do to deserve this?
"Fighting a dragon most certainly counts as a strenuous activity."
I want a second opinion.

So how long until we're at the point where we need at least one explosion a day?

Will Hakase like it if we do Megumin cosplay?

[X] [action] The "icecream and Hakase" plan is still an option.

did we tell hakase that the body she's seeing is a remotely operated platform?

    [X] [answer] Refuse
-[x] You won't even get near it! You're really good at blowing things up from far aways anyway! You can totally at least help out killing the dragon! Especially since Dragons Fly, and flying things are usually far away enough that you can blow them up without worrying about collateral!
    [X] [answer] Refuse
-[X] Wounded though you may be, you are far superior to either Asuna or the child in combat. If Takahata worries for you so, he could always accompany you, but you will do this regardless.
    [X] [answer] Refuse
    - [X] Explosions of the level required should not be strenuous. If they were it wouldn't be so hard to find a dragon then right?

[x] [action] Your master can help you. She always does.
[X] [action] You may be angry that you can't take on this mission, but just like when getting used to a new forma this only means you need to train more and get back into shape! Negi and Asuna should too, or they may miss their chance to help during the next mission, better grab them on your way to see your master!
[X] [action] Obviously, you are a misunderstood genius, but a quick trip to the library might point you in the right direction.
-[X] The library has a lot of information right? We should look and see what they have on dragons! It's genius!
--[X] Genius or not, it's a big place. Maybe we should ask the Library Exploration Club where to find the section on dragons?

I'm thinking Nova just watches from the top of the airship while Chao does her thing. She will be on hand to protect Hakese if something happens but she can avoid fighting the students because I honestly doubt Nova can emotionally handle fighting civilians who aren't her enemies and believe their only playing a game.

Hakase is working for Chao.
Is actually contracted to Chao in fact
I don't think we'd support the plan because we know where it ends up. No matter what Chao does the end result is the Origin System.

Nova doesn't know about the alternate timelines thing, sooo Chao's probably going to have Nova go in the most cheerful way possible "Everything you do is pointless, the solar system descends into endless horror and bloodshed. Why do you think they made this Warframe! :D"

[X] [action] Explain things to Asuna. Takahata did say he'd keep the child safe, right?

-------------------------------

Having an adult concerned about your health and not wanting you to fight is still somewhat new for you. You suppose you should find it heartwarming, but all the same you're more annoyed than anything at the time. Still, even if it's not how you planned it, the child will be safe, won't he? So that means you don't have to do anything more, except than go and tell Asuna about it.

"Fine, I won't try to hunt the dragon," you manage to say past your grit teeth. "Make sure to have Negi promise the same thing."

Takahata smiles.

"Of course, Nova. Remember that we're on the same side; we both want everyone to be safe. In my case, everyone just happens to include you," he says. "I hope you'll do the same and take care of yourself."

You nod and finish your tea mechanically before getting up on your feet. You bow tersely and leave the room.

You gave your word, so you won't do anything about that dragon, but what does this man knows about safety? He must be at most two hundred years old. While you can't really say for sure given how patchy your memory is, you're pretty certain that your kill count already eclipsed the numbers of stars in the sky when he was but a child. Granted, most of these centuries would have happened in cryo-sleep, but that's besides the point.

You know all you need to know about safety; it's what happens after you exterminate all hostiles. You would have been safe if you were allowed to hunt that dragon. So how could he lesson you about that?!

You ruminate your thoughts as you walk down the hallways in search of Asuna. Maybe it's because you thought you'd enter battle soon, but now that you know you won't, your mind is all over the place. Sadly, despite the more peaceful days you now enjoy, most of your mind is filled with ways to kill people, so "all over" still fixates on pretty much one thing. You are more and more annoyed as you walk, so when you arrive to the classroom, you throw the door to the side in a loud bang and walk purposefully to the girl, who was still seated when you arrived and has now her head turned in your direction.

"I talked to Takahata," you spit. "He'll be safe, so stop being so… argh!"

And in an exclamation of rage, you walk away, as suddenly as you arrived, leaving the people still inside confused.

"What's her deal?" you hear as you pass the open door, before slamming it behind you.

Minutes later, you're sitting in a ball in a less-known spot in the park or forest near your Master's home. Perks of being with the strolling club, you guess. You know all the spots that people don't, so you can feel terrible after yourself in peace.

You hug your knees closer to you and stare blankly at the vegetation in front of you.

You're still angry. You don't know what you're angry about. Asuna for being annoying, the child for being suicidal, Takahata for sounding so reasonable… You, for having gotten soft, you, for being such a stupid mess.

What are you supposed to do if you can't go ahead and eliminate threats? What can you do if you can't eliminate a threat decisively?

The sky turns gold, then dark as the air grows colder, and you hear some footsteps coming from behind you, as well as some ragged breath.

"Nova! You… here you are… ran all over the campus to find you..." you hear Hakase's voice - as well as her desperate gulps for air - close behind you. Her voice is at once relieved and worried. "I heard… something happened in the class… What's going on? Are you… okay?"

You hear her steps coming forward hesitantly. She doesn't know whether to come close to you or give you space.

"Can you tell me what's happened?"

------------------------

[] You don't want to talk. Make her go away!
[] Leave.
[] You still don't want to talk, but let her come closer.
[] It's nothing a stupid pacifist scientist could understand.
[] You all are stupid idiots! Leave me alone!
[] Write in some other option with varying degrees of self-destruction

...

Yeah.

On a happier note, the christmas drawing this year is nice. Not entirely sure I'll be allowed to post it, but nice!

[X] "Why does no one makes sense? the Child wants to know how to fight a dragon so I tell him what I can and Asuna gets mad at me for it! I decide to deal wit the dragon so he is safe and Takahata makes me promise not to then says something about how we both want everyone to be safe? How can everyone be safe if the threat is still there? People are only safe after the enemy is dealt with so they can't hurt anyone anymore. Fighting and eliminating threats is all I'm good at so why is it bad that I do that? I'm a Tenno! I'm a weapon! I'm supposed to fight; it's what the Orokin made us for!"

before people complain its supposed to be rambeling because holy shit we need to get it through everyone's heads that Nova needs help before she goes off like an anti-matter time bomb.

[X] Why can't people just let you destroy all the stupid dangerous things! That's all you're good for anyways! Destroying everything! They have no right to claim they should be protecting you when your kill count is at least ten times greater then the entire population of the campus!

[X] Stupid smart sciency girlfriend, probably wouldn't build an anti-matter projector to kill a stupid dragon if she could. Well! Let's see how her smarts get her out of being your pillow for an hour or five. Probably won't even know the basics of CQC, either. [IRATE GRUMBLING]

Oh is this a chance where Nova breaks up with Hakase!?
Or its just a first couple fight sigh.
