We don't have Totemic Self-Announcement, which would allow us do the whole kaiju thing.
OTOH, we DO have a First Perception Excellency on top of our Byakugan, which means we are going to be superhumanly good at finding stuff, even for ninja. And Team 8 was designed around tracking anyway, which means we have some training for this.

Is a thirty foot bear really kaiju sized compared to the truly massive creatures? Also get the feeling that fighting giant beasts would unlock the transformation charms that would let us take on the giant forms.

Our byakugan won't help here. Danzou mentioned no doujutsu was able to find the golden orchid last time.
We have the perception excellency, yeah...just don't count on the byakugan having an impact here. It might, but I wouldn't count on it.
I think our birds eye view is best used to spot any of them trying to leave the area.
But I'm really tempted to go after the bear.
Well, there was an Elder Knack that allowed Lunars to take the form of Landscapes.
So it is technically viable design space for a Lunar.
In this situation would it count as killing a bear, an orchid, or an orchid controlling a bear?
Because if it's the latter then this is two possible forms we could steal.
That just means that the Perception boost from other people's doujutsu was not enough to hit the detection threshold.
Hinata, OTOH, gets to stack the Perception boost from her Byakugan with her 1st Perception Excellency.
And that's not counting whatever sense it is that gives birds early warning of chakra orchid infestation.
Close enough in my book.
Not quite boss summon territory, but at least mid-tier.
I think the "early warning" is that they smell the spores, aren't effected by them, and then either run like hell or get killed.
So Hinata might be able to track it by scent.

The bear is already dead.
The flower is controling it's corpse like a puppet, so unless you want for some reason to be able to transform into a bear corpse, or maybe an already grown parasitic flower, i don't see much of a point. And transforming into two different beings at the same time seems beyond the scope of the technique.

No, we'd turn into a parasitized bear-orchid combo thing. It's all one organism now, even if it didn't use to be, not that it being multiple organisms would stop us anyways.

In addition to the Byakugan and Perception excellency, don't forget that our bird form has a perception mutation that grants a flat two successes.

IIRC we also take on unnatural mutations of things we kill, so we'd get a parasitized bear form.

But being parasited isn't really a mutation of the bear, it's an other entity that's physically manipulating the bears corpse like a puppeter.
And even IF Hinata could transform into a flower+Bear thing, it still wouldn't be enough as the "brain" isn't there anyway. The flower is barely more than a receptor for the Hivemind orders.
Without killing the Hivemind, and taking over it's ability to order the puppet around, we'd essentially be like a radio with an antenna but no radio-station waving music around: entirely useless.
And even IF Hinata could transform into a flower+Bear thing, it still wouldn't be enough as the "brain" isn't there anyway. The flower is barely more than a receptor for the Hivemind orders.

Whatever the forms we get on this mission, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't want to use them as-is.
All the orchids produce spores, after all, and we don't want to accidentally start infestations.
