Keyblader Apprentice Quest (Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep)

[x] Gold
[x] Mana Saver 1: You have become more efficient with your spells, giving you the ability to cast more before you get tired.

They use Aero. What I think these things are for is learning the spell that counters the spell the brooms use. Going by the green ones having yellow lines, I think that's Thunder in this case.
You've actually got it accurate on this one.

Gold naturally is a bit higher value than the others but I'll say flat out you have a chance of walking away with nothing but your current vote in terms of boosts from today's training if you go for it.

Well, with that in mind. . .

You immediately set your sights on one of the Gold Brooms. They may end up being the hardest to catch overall… but you aren't going to improve in the slightest if you don't even try to push your limits and step out of your comfort zone!

Ok then… here it goes!

"Raaaaaaaaaagh!" You scream as you fire a Note spell at the broom. "Die, stupid Broom thing!"

Sadly, the Broom imitates one of its Pink headband-wearing brethren and teleports out of the way.

"Stupid Broom." You cross your arms and scan the area. "Now, where did you run off to?"

The Golden Broom then teleports behind you and taps you on the shoulder, sending a small but ultimately harmless shock through your body.

"Aaaaaagh!" You leap forward as a result of getting shocked before turning around to face the cheeky Broom in question. "I'm going to get you for that."

The Broom blows a raspberry at you, or it would do if it had any sort of mouth. In reality, it just makes the motion of blowing one, which has the same message anyway.
"Grrrr." You growl at the Broom before firing another Note at it, though sadly the broom once again manages to teleport out of the way. "Stupid teleportation!"

Honestly, you're really starting to dislike that ability right about now.

Thankfully, next time you're more than prepared for the Brooms sudden appearance behind you, and before it can do much else you cast Note again, this time at point blank range. Naturally, as the Broom had not been expecting you to catch onto its stunt so quickly, the Note hits and the infernal piece of animated cleaning equipment is sent flying back.

Upon touching the ground however, the broom wastes no time in righting itself before casting a protective Areo spell, giving it a barrier that for the most part would give it resistance to most of your attacks, except one.

"Thunder!" You call out as a lightning bolt slams into the Broom, knocking it out of it's protective shield and letting you destroy it with one final cast of the Note spell. "Yes!"

You did it! Oh, this encounter has given you so many song ideas!

What do you choose?
[x] Song of Transportation - Duration: Changes the Song of Transportation into a steady song that allows you to teleport short distances at will for 30 seconds, letting you cast other spells while it is active.
[x] Song of Transportation - Range: Upgrades the Max range of the Song of Transportation, allowing you to cover much greater distances with it.
[x] Song of Transportation - Time: Shortens the time it takes you to cast the Song of Transportation, making it somewhat viable for use in combat.
[x] Song of Storms: A continuous song that lasts for 10 minutes and lets you call down a single lightning bolt once every 10 seconds at will without spending mana. As with all Songs, you can cast other spells at will while it is active.

XXXx

You learn that tomorrow both Yen Sid and Mickey will be away: Yen Sid to visit a fellow master and Mickey for training on another world. It makes you kind of sad, but you do have the option of going with either of them, staying behind at the tower and continuing your studies, or even doing some more writing for your magical songs! Besides, it's not like you're being left without any sort of choice in all of this - though you'd be lying if you said that this wasn't a hard choice.

What do you do?
[x] Travel with Yen Sid.
[x] Travel with Mickey.
[x] Stay at the tower and focus on studying.

Would I be right in that the difference between these two is essentially "Free teleports for a while" and "Really shortened wind-up times needed for teleporting"?

I'm honestly fine with any of the options.

On the one hand, we really need to level-grind. On the other hand, meeting the BBS cast ASAP would lend itself very well to sending things as far off the rails as possible. Decisions, decisions, decisions. . .

You know how some bosses spam the hell out of teleport? Yeah, I can't wait till that's us.

The Land of Departure is a serene and peaceful looking world, if a bit odd looking and almost painfully bright for someone that's spent the majority of life in Midnight Town, for obvious reasons. The entire world seems as if it is dotted with a variety of green mountain tops that lead downward into valleys that are just as lush looking and full of life as the mountaintops themselves. These contain several rivers can be seen flowing to and fro, likely to provide life to all the forests down below.

It's almost disturbing to see so much green in one place if you are to be entirely honest with yourself. Back in Midnight Town, the trees were varying shades of grey and only rarely ever grew any leaves at all. To see so much of it one place… it's becoming very clear to you that this is a world entirely unlike the one from which you hail, unlike the Mysterious Tower which you've had time to grow used too.

It's almost frightening in a way. How could any world be like this, or this the normal with darker looking worlds like the Mysterious Tower and Midnight Town being the exceptions to the rule?

You'll have to ask Master Yen Sid about this little conundrum sometime.

Aside from the many mountains, the most notable feature of this world is a massive house… castle… temple… school… fortress… thing located in the center. You know you'll have to ask more about what that thing actually is because whatever building it's supposed to be, it's probably not a normal example of its kind. The odd shape and the giant chains that seem to be holding it to a mountain are proof enough of that. Who would even build something so silly and scary looking anyway?

"Wow… " You comment as you continue soaking in the sights… until you spot three figures approaching. "Oh! Master Yen Sid, are those the people we're supposed to meet up with?"

The center figure is an old, yet at the same time spry, looking fellow. He wears a white uniform but the Keyblade at his side is jet black. His eyes are stern, much like those of your own master, but you sense a certain kindness in him. However, you also sense a certain drive or intensity within them that seems absent from Yen Sid's own. A part of you wonders why that could be, but you decide to place that thought in the back of your mind for the moment - this man is clearly a peer of Yen Sid, so that drive of his has to have come from some sort of past experience.

At his left side is a young blue haired girl about your age. She seems like a quiet and patient sort of person, but looks can be deceiving so you don't think you should count on that if you try and face her in a battle of wits. She could secretly be a shark that's taken on human form, only waiting for the right to devour the innocent!

Ok… that's unlikely, but you still don't let your guard down for a moment.

The other figure next to him is a boy about your age… and he is a boy! A boy! You've never talked with a boy before! All you really know about boys is that they're boys! He looks confused? Are boys always confused or is that just him?

Hmm, boys truly are strange and confusing creatures.

…And it looks like Master Yen Sid and this new master are exchanging introductions.

What do you do?
[x] Go up to the blue haired girl.
[x] Go up to the boy who is a boy?
[x] Wait for them to come to you.
[x] You have only one defense against other children your age… hide behind Master Yen Sid!

OOC: Feel free to write in dialogue as sub-options for any of the above. They are general guidelines and I'm not going to shoot anything down unless it's blatantly OOC. Once again thanks goes to my proofreader.
