I think the one Mickey might be talking about is the one from the Mickey Mouse comics. In that series, the Phantom Blot was basically their version of Moriarty .
Midnight Town sounds like a special world indeed. I'm sure that Yen Sid can probably tell just from the name, but it's a uniquely dark aligned world for sure.
I'm busy today so I won't have time to rewrite the update, and I promised to work on the best friend quest one tomorrow, but I'll try and get it done by the weekend.
I might as well give it another day, I'm not even going to start revising until the day after tomorrow due to a lack of time, so it's not like I'm going to have have to do more work if I extend the deadline.
Unlike the trial grounds, which were a pocket dimension within the tower itself, the training grounds are an empty space just outside of the tower's backside. To be honest, you didn't even know beforehand that Yen Sid even had a backyard.
'I guess you really do learn something new every day.' You think to yourself as you stretch your arms out. You have to admit, you're kind of excited to start some more physical training. Sure, the academic stuff is nice, but you just can't stand being cramped up indoors for long periods of time. Your wings and your limbs just start to cramp up after a long time, and you prefer the night sky out here anyway. It's a shame Yen Sid doesn't train you outside more often than he does.
The training area itself is constructed fairly nicely, nothing overly complicated (especially by the standards of a powerful wizard like Yen Sid), but it definitely looks more than sufficient to train a new Keyblade user like yourself.
However, the most notable thing about the training ground is a makeshift, or as makeshift as it gets around this place, arena with a smaller obstacle course and a wide variety of brooms running around inside it. At first glance, the only difference between the brooms seems to be the headbands that are around each of them, but a closer looks reveals that each type seems to have different behaviours and abilities depending on the headband. The first type, Grey colored headbands with a red line running through the middle, don't seem to have any notable traits about them beyond being the most common broom. Another group has Red headbands with blue lines, which seem to be much faster than the others and will occasionally light themselves on fire. Yet another broom type has green bands and yellow lines. These ones seem to be capable of creating small wind shields similar to your own Aero spell to protect themselves. The brooms with Blue headbands seem to be capable of creating ice below themselves and for the most part seem content with just skating along the ground. Another variety with pink headbands seem to be infused with teleportation magic of some kind, making them almost certainly the more painful and annoying type to go after should you choose to do so. The two final of the 'common' types are an Orange headband, which doesn't seem to do anything unusual, at least not when one is currently chasing it, and a Yellow headband with brown lines, which seem to periodically electrocute themselves.
Finally there are exactly two Brooms with Golden headbands on them, you don't know what the deal with them is but your almost certainly that they'll have 'some' sort of unusual trick about them assuming that the rarity of the Brooms is anything to go by.
Which type of Broom do you focus on during the exercise?

In addition to the dealing with the brooms, you also do more conventional training on some close-range targets. It isn't really all that notable beyond the freedom you have to experiment, but its fun and enjoyable all the same so you don't really have much to complain about.

[x] Ricochet 1: When you cast Note to make an attack, the Musical Note will bounce a second time before disappearing if it misses.
OOC: One again thanks to my beta for all the help.

If I'm understanding this choice correctly, green will give us Thunder, which strikes me as the most useful spell we can learn right now (unless another one offers Cure, of course).

They use Aero. What I think these things are for is learning the spell that counters the spell the brooms use. Going by the green ones having yellow lines, I think that's Thunder in this case.
Granted, I could be wrong on any or all of those points.
